Trying this again since we were censored for writing the truth about our experience. As long term care giver in the Roanoke, VA area, it was very difficult to stand by and watch a client cared for by us become mistreated, whether intentionally or not. They were late to pick up and late to return, as well. No text or call to alert us either. This was for a medical appointment. Don't know about yours, but this PCP didn't like it one bit that we arrived late. Their vans are miniatures. Their ramps require an elderly person to feel safe going backwards down a short ramp at a decline too steep for the height of the end of the van. It looked too dangerous for us to ever want to try again. The client simply refuses to ever use this company again. read more

Late for pick up. Late for return. Zero notification from dispatchers from CORTRAN or VIA to alert us. My grandchild cannot be left waiting, as she was, without triggering disabilities. We've decided not use Cortran since it is no longer with RADAR. Roanoke County has outsourced the dispatchers through VIA in the Philippines. Then instead of a dependable RADAR bus, driver and dispatchers locally in Roanoke, a 3rd party contracted company acts unprofessionally with no way to reach anyone at CORTRAN (only voice mail and no return call) or VIA (in the Philippines). A word to the wise: don't trust this triangulated and dysfunctional set of services with your loved ones. read more

I won't trust my senior wife with AbleMed again. We went through CORTRAN-VIA and this company showed up with a Toyota mini-van! They were late so she was late for her doctor's appointment. No one contacted us to alert us so that we could inform the doctor's office. This never happened when CORTRAN had rides provided through RADAR. We'll go through our insurance company for either hers or my next doctor's appointments. I'll let them know not to send AbleMed. We tried to reach VIA (the dispatchers) but couldn't communicate with them in the Philippines. We miss RADAR since there were never any problems with their services at all. read more

AbleMed misled VIA that books rides CORTRAN, paratransit for seniors with disabilities, about how they would transport our elderly father. To write that they didn't do as expected time, vehicle, or communication wise is an understatement. We wanted to make a report somewhere, but no one at the VIA could understand and no one from CORTRAN ever returned our calls. This seems like a good place to let them know how displeased with their services we are! (Bring back RADAR). read more

What a disappointing experience. Their minivans aren't large enough to carry a normal body size power wheelchair. Ours was damaged by the driver who tried to cram it inside. We didn't complain to the company because that's not our style. Instead, we moved beyond Cortran to our medical insurance provider's paratransit corp. This was not an experience we'd ever want to repeat since it was costly and unpleasant. read more

As an amputee inn a wheelchair with both leg lifts on my wheelchair raised, Cortran-Via sent AbleMed to carry me to an appointment. How they expected to fit me in their tiny van, I can't imagine. I had to miss the appointment because AbleMed apparently misled Cortran about the size of their vehicle. Not happy at all about this. It was a cancer-related appointment and very important. Get someone dependable. read more

We aren't the complaining type of people, so didn't say anything to CORTRAN after not being able to reach dispatchers in the Philippines with VIA. For year, CORTRAN used to serve Roanoke County through RADAR. Now that CORTRAN is using AbleMed instead of RADAR and VIA instead of RADAR in the city of Roanoke, we won't use their service any long. RADAR was always reliable. AbleMed was not. read more
