This is the absolute worse place to go. From the second you walk in your on lock down. It makes it seem like you can walk freely outside because of the large fenced in area. You cannot. Your outside time includes every 4 hour smoke breaks in a tiny portion 10 foot brick wall. It is a lockdown facility. Lots of slamming doors and dangling keys. You feel like your in jail. In intake I was asked several questions and said I had thoughts of suicide never that I acted or had planned to act. Well I get in there the first night and people are so screwed up on meds it's like watching a zombie movie. The staff is incredibly rude especially the nurse yyvone. The second I realized I was not where I was supposed to be I asked for discharge. She laughed in my face and told me your crazy the doctor will keep you in here and if you keep on with this aggression he will make you be court ordered to stay. I was not being aggressive I was simply asking basic right questions. A very nice lady took me aside and calmed me down and let me smoke. Her name was Claudia. She told me to sleep it off and I could be gone by morning I just had to be on my best behavior. At 430 that morning I was woken up to someone banging on my head screaming labs!!!! You have to do your labs wake up NOWWW!!!!! She instantly handed me a pee cup and said go piss in this now and hurry up. So I went half asleep, (after just falling asleep bc the staff was laughing and taking loudly the whole night) and I got out the bathroom and they said now give us your arm we need blood. I calmly asked for what?? You can't take my blood without me knowing what for and they slammed my arm on the table Nd said hold still. And as they were taking it said its for thyroid don't worry about it. I didn't sleep after that say enough bc I was traumatized. I got up ate breakfast it was good, and noticed the breakfast slash visitation area was a lot more homier than the rest of the place. It was clear to me they didn't want visitors to see what was rally going on. All of the windows had sunlight shining through, it was clean, and there was an ice Nd water dispenser. Well that was funny because the only time we were offered water was at 9 pm. Once a day. So their giving a show to visitors that you don't see inside All of the windows are blurred out for minimal sunshine and outside view (which is a great way to heal, nature and sunlight) I went back to sleep and the doctor Daniel came into my room and was very nice and asked how I was doing I said great I'm so good and he said okay well we're going to get you out of here. I got so happy. So I attended a morning group (which was bs and full of bogus things that only few people show up to because most everyone is in bed so messed up on medication) and dr Daniel comes yelling in the room you get over here now. He says he needs to talk to me and PUSHES me In their room. And said what is this I hear about you wanting to do this and that to hurt yourself (YELLING). I said uhhhh no. I said I had thoughts. Thoughts and actually doing something or wanting to do something are two different things. He yelled and slammed his hand on the desk and said I'm going to get a court order for you to stay im not doing this bs with you!!!!!!! And stormed out of the room. He made me feel like dirt on the ground. So unprofessional and no caring heart at all. In this time frame a social worker named Debra came in who was excellent. She was so nice and loving and gave me ideas where to get a job. She was amazing but I would not attend this place just to see her again nope. No way. They don't tell you its co Ed and it is. Some of the guys really creeped me out and they are allowed to hang out in girl pod as well as girls hang out in guy pod. This place is a joke. It was the most traumatic experience I have EVER had. as soon as I got into fresh air I took a deep breath and had a two hour panic attack. I felt so trapped and violated and treated like crap. It made me sad for the people that actually did get so drugged they couldn't even walk or see straight. They have no idea what's going on bc their too messed up. I truly believe I was tortured at this place. I'm so glad I was released. I wouldn't suggest this to my worst enemy. read more

Worked there & quit because Oceans did not deliver what they promised to desperate parents. Most of the time kids, including teenagers, colored & watched tv - not several group sessions a day. They did have some recreation time at the discretion of staff. So it wasn't every day. Witnessed more than one staff member taunting, teasing kids in the middle of a meltdown. Little kids (5 & 6 years old) left alone to "cry it out" on their first night because the RN said, "He/she is fine. Maybe next time they'll think twice about doing ...." The kids, even 5 & 6 year olds were medicated. Get meds or change meds. That's it. Lots of the same kids in & out. I really feel sorry for the parents who have no other option either due to insurance, distance or finances. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! DONT EVEN WALK IN THE DOOR. I came here looking for a therapist and new meds. After they found out I had insurance it was over. Immediatly upon entering the doors locked. I wouldn't be let out for another 6 days. They took my shoe laces, my phone and didn't tell me anything about what was going on. Youre woken up every morning at 5am to someone yelling down the hallway, "VITALS", then an hour later "COFFEE" then an hour later "BREAKFAST". The food wasn't terrible but if you're allergic to anything on the menu guess what? You aren't eating because they damn sure can't be bothered to get you anything else. Aside from a few people, everyone was rude and unhelpful. The "therapy groups" were a joke (people passing out a worksheet then leaving, or forcing us to sit there while they talked about bs in their lives for an hour). We had smoke break every few hours and if someone was feeling generous we would go out side for 20 minutes or so. Otherwise we were locked inside like prisoners, and told to amuse ourselves with the therapeutic options avaliable (TV and coloring). If you went to your room at any time before lights out you were "isolating" and more time could be tacked on to your sentence. Not to mention the fact that you are compleatly at the mercy of the barely trained techs (babysitters) that are in charge of you all day. During my time here I was over medicated to the point of slurring my words and stumbling around (and told refusing meds would get me locked up longer), talked to like a disobedient child, and whenever I asked when I could leave, I was told repeatedly either "you're not leaving" or "when the doctor decides you're okay" (the doctor that I only saw twice the whole time I was there I might add) After essentially being kidnapped for a week I'm telling everyone who will listen: DO NOT GO HERE THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU.
