It's this assortment of other bits and bobs that makes Abasi possibly worth choosing over other key cutters in the area. It has the intrigue of a second hand shop. The key cutting side of the business works well enough, but if you live in the Selly Oak/Stirchley area and you're in the market for some lock fittings or roof adhesive, this is probably a good place to start.

I recently visited again yesterday as we were struggling to lock the door from the inside, and was looking for a new lock/barrel (which I was about to spend £40/50 on). Instead of taking advantage or selling me something I didn't need, he asked questions, gave advice, and quickly realised that it was fine and just needed a clean. The lock was sprayed/cleaned and was good as new. Didn't have to spend a penny! Very knowledgeable and genuinely nice guy. Please support local! Couldn't have asked for more. Found a problem with an external door (lock broken) and put a call in. Had to wait until the…read moreafternoon until the engineer called me, but this was swiftly followed by a home visit. The locking mechanism was inspected onsite then taken back to the workshop. It was brought back a few hours later and put back on, although not fixed (a spare part had been ordered). At this point I queried what the price might be (I could have established this earlier) and it was what I expected and reasonable. The engineer returned the next day and took away the lock mechanism again, and returned soon after with the refurbished part. The service was friendly and I was clearly notified in each step of the repair. The response and effort was excellent and turned a broken lock on a 20 year old door into one that felt new and secure.
