This is actually probably the nearest fish and chip shop to where I live, however due to the excellence that Five Star (Station Road) and the good reputation of Top Gun, until recently I'd never even been to Victoria Fish Bar. The food in my opinion is pretty average, in particular I really wasn't that keen on the fish. The staff on the other hand were incredibly friendly and chatty and I almost come back purely due to them. What is special about this place though, is that it's one of the only Fish and Chip shops which is open on a Sunday. So whilst from Monday to Saturday I'd recommend going somewhere else, if you find yourself on a Sunday with a desperate craving for Fish and Chips, you know just where to go.

USA Chicken is one of the better choices in the centre, a small, toasting hot premises that chucks out kebabs, burgers and, naturally, fried chicken. Those options aren't anything to write home about, admittedly. Instead, give their well above-average pizzas a go. Better still, they're even open bank holidays, with free home delivery until 1am from Sunday to Thursday and 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. Yeah, so their logo resembles the eye-offending results of unlikely genetic crossbreeding between Kellogg's and the Stars & Stripes on an ancient copy of Photoshop. Look past the tacky exterior, however, USA Chicken will sate your hunger for gut-busting food fast.
