ABC languages does a great job with introductory Spanish. Angel is an excellent instructor, and I am on my way to being able to converse in Spanish during our upcoming trip to Spain. read more

I've been very impressed with my Spanish classes. I took French all growing up and wanted to begin taking Spanish since my partner is Venezuelan. Typically I prefer to take classes in person but because of my busy schedule, I settled for remote learning which I was a little apprehensive about. I love my class. My teacher, Dana Radeka is so engaging and keeps classes interesting by having us do a variety of activities while encouraging the class to interact. In fact, I extended my 6 week class period to another 6 weeks and will continue to extend as this has been perfect my schedule and my learning of a new language. I have even recommended ABC Languages to friends and coworkers who learned that I was taking Spanish classes. I also like that they offer several different nights/days of the week so you can pick the weekly time slot that works best with your schedule which is really important to me. Could not recommend this program and Dana enough!! read more

I've been taking French clases with Sophie Sayaque, one of the best french teachers I have had the pleasure to have. Extremely patient and she keeps her classes interesting and light hearted. Helped a ton with pronunciation and written expression! read more

Angel is my Spanish instructor, and he is excellent. He explained the different stages of fluency and the work we need to do to get there, so I have a sound big picture perspective of the process. He's also a kind but firm classroom instructor over zoom. I have decided to sign up for classes over the long term as a result of his excellent lesson plans and teaching. I highly recommend him. read more

Claudio is an amazing professor! I've been doing private sessions for the past two years with an instructor from Italy but it really didn't help me develop my fluency. Claudio makes it easy he breaks it down the articles, verbs grammar and he is very fun to work wit. I highly recommend him!!' read more

ABC Language is an incredibly useful resource for anyone who is serious about learning an additional language. My professor, Sr. Angel Haya makes class interesting and engaging with useful exercises and class exercises. I have a busy schedule so fitting in one 1.5 hour session a week is all that I can do right now but I am hoping to add a second day during the week during my next course. read more

Angel Haya is my Spanish teacher for ABC Languages and he is excellent! The class is fun, topical and light yet we are really encouraged to participate, interact and the learning comes in waves. Grateful for his patience and approach to teaching! read more

ABC Languages is great. I took Italian classes with Claudio, who was fantastic. He was very patient, and broke down the lessons to ensure we had time to learn new topics, practice conjugatio/writing as well as practicing speaking to him and our classmates. I highly recommend. read more

This is my second course. I took the sis weeks introduction to Italian and now continuing with another 9 weeks Our Classes are with Claudio and I really recommend him if you want to learn Italian. I'm currently taking an intermediate Spanish class and I could not recommend it more. When I first started, I was nervous of the class size and my conversational skills but Dana is a fantastic teacher and makes you feel at ease right away. The class size is small which is great and the individual attention during the class makes learning the language very easy. Dana really makes the class fun and engaging and is SO patient! I highly recommend taking a class with her and look forward to continuing learning Spanish with her! read more

I currently take beginner Italian (group) classes online with Claudio. I find his method is well suited for learning a new language as adults; there's a clear purpose and structure to the way the class progresses, which keeps newbies to Italian like me engaged and interested, and confident that I am going to learn and retain. Claudio is a wonderful teacher who conveys very well his passion for the Italian language, and makes the classes very fun, so much so that I always very much look forward to our weekly classes. Highly recommend taking Italian classes with Claudio. read more

I appreciate Professor Dana Radeka's patient guidance especially with students whose native languages have nothing in common with Spanish. Beginners often feel daunted so an encouraging Instructor like Dana is needed to keep students motivated to continue learning. read more

I had considered learning Spanish for years but was hesitant about signing up for online classes. I finally did it this year and I am taking weekly Spanish classes with Miguel Bear and I am throughly enjoying it. Miguel is a fantastic teacher, he is very friendly, patient and makes the classes really fun. I already signed up for more classes. The length of the class is also perfect, I wouldn't last more than 1.5hrs. I always look forward to the next class. I highly recommend Miguel if anyone is thinking of learning Spanish. read more

Miguel Bear is an excellent Spanish teacher! He prepares thoroughly for every lesson but is intuitive enough to adapt as we go and emphasize the areas we need to strengthen. He's also incredibly patient, and speaks slow enough that we all can understand. I just renewed my class membership for another 8 weeks! read more

I took the entry-level, six-week Spanish course. Over the course of six weeks, we only got to ser and estar. Almost all of the course covered topics I had some familiarity with. This is only a good course if you are completely new to Spanish and your vocabulary is limited to Buenos Dias and Addios. read more

Angel was an amazing instructor, he was patient with our group and i learned more than i ever have learned in Spanish class. I will definitely be signing up for the next set of classes. Thank you Angel! read more

ABC Languages is a great place to take new language classes! The classes build upon each other and there is no direct leveling, so you are in a continual process building upon your skills (I've taken classes at other places where there's a greater mismatch between levels that leaves something to be desired). The books they recommend are also helpful in guiding through each session. I've been taking Spanish classes with Dana. She's been awesome - she creates an immersive experience, using podcasts, reading comprehension, articles, among others to help deepen our understanding. Classes are always fun and well-structured. Dana challenges us to speak more clearly, thoughtfully and with deeper appreciation of the language. I would highly recommend learning with her! read more

I've been taking beginner Spanish classes here for a few months now with Juan and then Adelina. Juan was a fun teacher who was great at translating both Spanish terms/conjugations and concepts to English. He gave instantaneous corrections that were much appreciated. Adelina is also an engaging teacher who constantly addresses what we identify as our goals. We participate in a variety of activities from conversations to website questions to readings. One possible con is that I only get to have class once a week, so I don't get as much practice or exposure. However, this works well with my schedule. I have enjoyed my time here, and I feel like I have gotten much more familiar with Spanish. Now, back to my homework! read more

Miguel is the best! I have been taking Spanish classes for a few months and have loved it all. He is energetic and always keeps me engaged. Classes are adaptive and it barely feels like I am taking a class. I couldn't recommend Miguel and ABC more! read more

Angel Haya is a wonderful and patient teacher. He explains everything very well. It is so great that he is in Cali, Colombia and can teach us over Zoom. He repeats the lessons appropriately so our class can learn the material well but not too much as to make it boring. He is funny and the 90 minutes per week we spend with him passes quickly. The homework is reasonable and relevant. I highly recommend Angel. read more

I'm so glad that I have chosen ABC Languages! I have been taking Italian classes with Claudio and I am honestly learning so much. He keeps the class very engaging and fun. He is very patient and willing to go over anything you may not understand, so happy I decided to push myself and learn. Looking forward to learning more - Grazie Mille Claudio!! read more

I'm so glad I enrolled in Spanish Total Beginner with Fabian Acosta Quitan. He is an engaging teacher that makes learning easy and fun. If he's teaching the next level of Spanish at ABC Languages, I'm definitely signing up! Either way, I'm impressed with ABC Languages and looking forward to taking more classes. read more

I have had 6 sessions so far with Claudio and am enjoying it. I really struggle with learning languages, but Claudio very much understands my capacity and has tailored the pace and focus of the lessons to my abilities. read more

ABC Languages is a great place to learn. I took a Spanish class at the Manhattan location and the teachers and team that run the course are amazing. I had trouble with my business travel schedule and they worked through it with me and helped me get back on track. Very professional and the group classes are informative and fun. Thanks! read more

This review has been a long time coming. I had a horrible experience in one of their French classes, where a teacher named Helen ostracized me and tried her best to humiliate me in front of the class for some reason. When I spoke, she said things like "I don't want to talk about it for a half hour," despite discussing for only 2 minutes. And if I didn't understand a concept or game we were playing, she would flippantly screech, "It's supposed to be easy! It's easy for other people!" When I reported her, absolutely nothing significant was done other than "a talk to her." It's not lost on me that I was the only black person in that class and French people do have a history with those they perceive to be Haitian (which I'm not, but do look like it). I guess my request for respect and some kind of accountability will go unanswered. Coucou is a much better school option, with a more immersive environment, well thought out curriculum, and classy teachers! read more

Instructor Dana R is amazing! I highly suggest having her as your teacher. Learning a second language can be stressful but Dana makes learning Spanish easy. She does judge and make the class interactive. read more

I very much enjoyed my French class with Sophie Sayaque. She was creative, fun, and--important to me and others who would like to improve their language skills--not shy about pointing out my mistakes so that I could get better. Highly recommended. read more

ABC Languages is great! I have to take four semesters of foreign language at my university to graduate so I decided to seek out a tutor in order to make the most of my studies and the help I've gotten from my tutor Josephine Kraemer has been invaluable. Not only have I gotten A's on my exams but my French has improved dramatically. I've gone from total beginner to being able to read, understand, and hold meaningful conversations in French. 5 out of 5. Highly recommend. read more

I have had a very positive experience with Angel Haya of ABC Languages. I took the intro level Spanish class online, and re-enrolled for another series of classes. Angel is very engaging, friendly and effective as an instructor. I have only good things to say about Angel !! read more

We have been taking Italian lessons with Claudio, for 6 weeks now. He is a very smart , dedicated and fun teacher. He is very patient and super nice. And as a native speaker (he is from Venice) he teaches the real Italian ,the way it is spoken in Italy. We love that our group is small, so there is time for everyone to speak and ask questions. I am very excited about learning Italian and being able to speak and understand it on my next trip. I love Italy! read more

My experience with ABC, so far, has been first-rate--truly just fantastic. I am taking weekly Spanish lessons (via Zoom) with Dana Radeka, and those lessons are a highlight of my week. I can see (and hear) the growth week-to-week. It's so rewarding. I have my next lesson tomorrow--I cannot wait! I highly recommend you give it a shot too! read more

Fun French classes with Aurore Vituret! Clear instructions, fun activities, a lot of conversation, grammar review. MY FRENCH HAS DEFINITELY IMPROVED! If you're thinking of taking Italian classes at ABC L., Giulia Tosolini, is a fantastic instructor, and I HIJ HIGHLY recommend her!! I'm sure other instructors teaching other languages are great too as the school hires the best. I have been taking Italian classes at ABC L. since October with Guilia. And I have loved every class she has taught. Not only does Guilia teach with great care, she really makes sure you understand the lesson and works with you on your specific need because she is dedicated to you learning. Each class is specifically geared toward the level in the class so that everyone really learns and gets what they want out of the class that's why I've been taking the classes since October with Guilia. My 6-year-old-son took a Russian Beginners class with Natalia Sorokina. It has been a wonderful experience. Natalia made the lessons informative, accessible and entertaining. We really hope to take more classes with Natalia in the near future. Thank you Natalia for awakening an interest in my son to learn and speak Russian, that makes us very happy! read more
