Extremely Disappointed with the Scheduling…read more This is not the first time we've experienced overbooked appointments at ABC Kids Dental Group, and unfortunately, the scheduling today was extremely frustrating. My daughter had a 6:00 PM orthodontic consultation, came 10 minutes early and it was already 7:30PM when I wrote this review, yet she still had not been called. There was also still a patient waiting for their 5:30 PM appointment who had not been seen. I understand that offices can occasionally run behind, but this was far beyond a reasonable wait. What is the point of scheduling an appointment if the office consistently overbooks and cannot honor the scheduled appointment times? We were repeatedly told things like, "You're next," or "Just 10 more minutes," but the wait continued. My husband became extremely frustrated, and my daughter ended up with a stomachache because she was hungry from waiting so long. Ending up leavin People's time is valuable, which is why appointments are scheduled in the first place. If the office knows they are consistently running behind, they need to improve their scheduling process, staffing, and communication with patients. ABC Kids Dental Group needs to do better. Parents should be able to schedule an appointment and reasonably expect their child to be seen close to the scheduled time. With my 3-year-old, he was so kind and took the time to explain everything he was doing, helping my child feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the visit. He made what could have been a stressful dental appointment into a very positive experience for both kids. He even gave them little gifts at the end, which made their visit extra special! And the X-ray technician was okay not too friendly, but he took my glasses and never gave them back to me. I had to drive back to them so I could get my glasses. I don't have insurance, so after the X-rays they gave me a quote for $3500 for a root canal and crown. Okay...I don't have that money currently. I asked how much would it be for a tooth extraction. The woman told me $1000 and it will take 30-45 mins for the extraction. $1000 for a tooth extraction that's only going to take 30-45 mins?! Nah. They at least gave me prescriptions for clindamycin and Ibuprofen which I was happy about. Then they told me I was free to go, just for them to call me a 20 mins later talking about they forgot to charge me for the X-rays Idk if they're price gauging here or what. But I'm not paying $1000 to pull a tooth. I'll go elsewhere

Their work is not humane at all and their office does not have a good attitude to respond. Use other dentists who will treat you with dignity and respect and will not take advantage of your lack of knowledge or poor level of English.

Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience at Dream Dental in Van Nuys…read more I first came to this office around the end of July because I was experiencing severe wisdom tooth pain. From the beginning, I informed the office about my medical conditions and the medications I was taking. I was told that the earliest available appointment for my wisdom tooth extractions was September 30, so I waited approximately two months while continuing to live with significant pain. During that time, I was initially prescribed Tylenol and later acetaminophen with codeine. The codeine medication was making my stomach sick, but I continued waiting because I believed my wisdom teeth would finally be taken care of at my scheduled appointment. On September 30, I took the day off work and my family rearranged their schedules so they could accompany me for the procedure. Once I was already in the treatment room, I learned that the dentist apparently was not aware of the medications and medical information I had previously provided to the office. The dentist then told me that he could not proceed with my extractions because of concerns involving the anesthesia, my medications, and my medical history. I understand and respect a dentist refusing to perform a procedure if he believes it would be medically unsafe. My complaint is that these issues should have been reviewed before I waited approximately two months and arrived for a scheduled surgical procedure. If I needed medical clearance, a different anesthesia plan, or a referral to an oral surgeon, I believe that should have been addressed beforehand. When I went to the front desk and questioned why this had not been handled earlier, the situation became extremely unprofessional. While I was explaining how upsetting it was to have taken the day off and waited this long while in pain, one of the front-office employees was laughing and behaving in a manner that I felt was mocking and dismissive. I requested to speak with the manager and informed the office that I would be contacting my insurance and filing formal complaints regarding my experience. I was then told that they would no longer treat me and that I needed to leave the office. Since I now had to find another provider, I requested my records and X-rays so that I would not have to start this entire process from the beginning. The situation then escalated even further. My 15-year-old daughter was present, and an adult female front-desk employee physically attacked my daughter during the confrontation. I personally witnessed the incident. I photographed the staff member involved, and I have kept those photographs as documentation of who was present. My daughter is a minor, which made the situation even more serious and disturbing. The office mentioned calling the police, and I told them to please call because I wanted the incident involving my minor daughter formally documented. Based on my personal experience, I would advise anyone scheduled for surgery here to personally confirm beforehand that the treating dentist has reviewed your medical history, medications, anesthesia plan, and any medical clearance requirements before waiting weeks or months and taking time off for the procedure. This entire experience was extremely frustrating and upsetting, especially because it could have been handled much more professionally from the beginning.

Prior to that I was with 1 Dds who did "complete restoration" 7 years earlier.) It was so bad that the roots had become calcified. Unable to find and or penetrated by regular means. And he tried for a long time. He referred me out but I decided to check around. I chose MHEG after doing the math and reading reviews. But "Alex" solidified my visit. Over the phone she addressed my concerns and basically proved that this clinic wasn't just about the money. Other Endo's that I phoned said they would keep 1/2 the cost if the procedure was unsuccessful! Imagine that. Also the others were more expensive. The fees were discussed over the phone and if they couldn't complete the procedure they would take 350.00 which was much less than everyone else AND, that included x-rays and cat scans. Okay...that was Alex doing her job...by the way Marvel IYKYK... Went straight to the chair in an on time appointment. No wait. X-rays and then cat scans were done immediately. Then the consult with Dds Kang with Griselda by his side. He confirmed the difficulty of what I thought. There was no guarantee but he would do his best. ...and it was Friday the 13th! All work done under a microscope. Precision work and never felt any pain. I was asked if i was in pain multiple times. The only thing I felt was the success of each of the 4 canals being opened. I didn't say anything cause I wanted to be sure but when Dds concluded and explained the rest of the plan I understood that he managed to accomplish the mission. He will check it again in a few months to be sure there's no infection but I already feel the healing. The illness was released. Went from a massive abscess and potential tooth pull to one day later feeling relief from a huge tooth issue. Dds is amazing. Professional and confident, Delicate precision over the instruments he used to accomplish a successful root canal on a most difficult tooth. And Griselda was a pro. Her personality glows and she loves what she does. It's easy to see. I should also mention that she had every item that Kang needed at the ready the entire time. I'll close with the fact that cost matters as does expertise. I found MHEG to be a good combination of both. Just like my current dentist. They have forwarded their report to my primary dentist. I'll update as things progress but so far very pleased.
