I was going to wait until the investigation was completely finished and charges were filed before…read moresaying anything publicly. However, after giving it a lot of thought, I realized that parents, especially those looking for a new daycare, deserve to know what happened and how it was handled. After speaking with DCS and learning the full details of their investigation, I found out that a teacher was witnessed by another staff member grabbing children by their arms and forcefully slinging them down onto their mats during nap time. One of those children was my own 20-month-old daughter, who was far too young to tell me what had happened. Thankfully, the teacher who witnessed this behavior reported it to the state that same day. The daycare director, Alyssa, was also made aware of the incident on that Tuesday that it happened. After the investigation was completed, we learned that a total of 4-5 children had been treated this way that same day. What is most upsetting to me is how the situation was handled. Instead of immediately terminating the teacher or ensuring she had no further contact with children while the allegations were investigated, the teacher was simply sent home with a write-up and was allowed to return to work on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. It wasn't until DCS arrived on Friday that she was terminated effective immediately. In my opinion, that action should have been taken on Tuesday. I was not informed that my daughter had been involved until Friday, three days after the incident. Knowing that my little girl had been mistreated and then placed back in the same classroom with that teacher for several more days is something I will never understand. This experience has left me feeling heartbroken, angry, and deeply disappointed. We chose to press charges against the teacher because we never want another child to experience what these children did. We also explored taking legal action against the daycare for allowing the teacher to continue working around the children after the incident was reported, but we were told there was not enough legal basis because no lasting physical harm occurred. I'm sharing our experience because I believe other parents deserve to know how this situation was handled by the director so they can make an informed decision when choosing childcare for their children. Every child deserves to be safe, protected, and cared for by adults who take concerns like these seriously from the very beginning.

However, some of the weight equipment definitely needs to be updated before someone gets hurt. I was using the leg press, put the safety bars back, and walked over to get a spray bottle to clean it when the mechanism suddenly crashed down. It made such a loud noise that everyone in the gym turned around to make sure I was okay. I was honestly shocked it fell. If you have the Advanced membership, you get access to the water massage chairs and the tanning room. But just a heads-up if you're a bigger person: the tanning isn't a traditional bed, it's a tiny stand-up booth. I had to hold my arms over my head the whole time and still kept brushing up against the sides. On the positive side, the staff on-site was very friendly, and I liked that you could get your body mass checked once a month. But corporate is greedy. When I signed up, I explicitly told them I only wanted one month. They told me to just cancel through the app in two days so I wouldn't get billed again. An employee literally walked me through the app to cancel it right there in the gym. Next month rolls around, and they charge me anyway. I gave them the exact date, time, and name of the employee who helped me, and I've emailed them about eight times over the past few months with zero response. If they overcharge you, don't expect to get your money back. If you cancel, make sure you completely delete your payment method off your account so they don't steal your money.
