unresponsive doesn't reply to emails or call, the worst communication I've ever experienced

I Have hired Mr. Abbott for the last 5 years with numerous and numerous of eviction tenant cases in Detroit. He may not come off as the kiss butt lawyers you meet who promises you the world and takes your money and run. What he does is very direct, you show up to court on eviction day which helps your case against lying tenants and 99.99% of the time, you win. He doesn't require you to show up, I do because I care about winning. This is the only lawyer I have met who is ethical, honest, Kind and direct and you won't see that side if you are complaining and expect him to do everything. Remember, this is your case, put some effort in if you want to win. Also on his secretary and his bedside manners, as some people were complaining, You get what you give out. They handle thousands of cases a week and honestly don't have time to hear frivolous complaints, email them what you need, it will be done. Attorney Abbott can be condescending, and his secretary and receptionist can be rude. However I'm not hiring an eviction attorney for his/her bedside manner. I only care about results. So far as getting judgements in the landlord's favor, he is one of the best if not the best. I have never lost a case using him. He may try to negotiate when a tenant gives a sob story in court, but he will call you and give you the opportunity to accept or reject. By the way, for all of you offended, he can take it just as well as he gives it out and that will calm him down lol. My advice, decide if you want a bulldog attorney who may not be nice to you, or if you want flowers and candy but lose your cases! read more

This attorney is down right RUDE!!!! and possess a VERY CONDESCENDING Attitude. I have used this attorney's service a few times now and EVERY time I talk to this attorney I have to deal with his sarcastic demeanor. Today will be my last. I called the attorney, on a Saturday, hoping to leave a message requesting a receipt for the services they have provided for me regarding two of my evictions. Mr. Abbott, "I don't know what your talking about, we don't do that, don't you have that information" Mr. Abbott continued to act as if he had no understanding of providing a receipt for his services, I informed Mr. Abbott, I was actually trying to leave you a message being that it is Saturday. Mr. Abbot, "Well you got me so let me stop what I was doing" I tell him "Every time I speak with you I have to deal with your snooty attitude..What does Mr. Abbot do, he HANGS UP on me. I call him back requested the information again and finally got the totals of what I was looking for. All of that for two figures. REALLY? There are more attorneys out there that deal with landlord/tenant issues and I will be on the lookout for another one because Mr. Abbott is not worth it. I have to be honest and say THE ONLY reason I even went back to this attorney after my first experience was because of his wife who understands the meaning of customer service. Most horrible law firm I have met. First they charge u over the phone then their secretary who is extremely bitter rude unprofessional and pathetic is hanging out the phone on you cuz she can't give u answers. Will def file a complaint with the BBB STAY AWAY. read more

I have used this attorney for several of my eviction cases and I must say they are organized and get these cases in and out of court very quickly. I am content with his business and who he hires. I am not sure about the other reviews but I have not experienced any rudeness from him or his employees. Abbott is very inexpensive and has set fees for mostly everything which I appreciate. read more
