Being my saviour in Whitby might make me a bit biased but the young lady who collected me at the YHA and swung around and did a U-ie to put me and my bags down outside The George Hotel so I didn't have to cross the road last Monday evening, thank you, and I enjoyed the trip learning because I asked (because it's metered and I asked) that there was another way around if the Swing Bridge was open and traffic held up and she even told me on weekends cars couldn't use it and of another way across the Esk for cars, seemed to know the area. It felt nice being in a car in Whitby and being driven down from East Cliff at the Y' to The Geroge Hotel's New Quay Road Entrance.
Whitby Bridge was open and was business as usual so we just drove over when the light went green and it cost the low end of every estimate I ever got in Whitby for this trip, even though it was metered.
This business wasn't my first attempt to get a taxi for this journey however, these people were the first to be available when I called them. read more
