Abba Taxi has failed 2 times in a very short time that I have stayed in Warrington. First time was ordering a taxi to pick up from outside of Tesco. We have been waiting an hour when I finally decided to call them and ask about out taxi. I was told that the taxi is on it's way right now and it's just right down the corner. It must have been a big corner because Another 15 minutes passed and taxi hasn't arrived. I decided to call again and got through to a very rude lady. When I explained what happened she said out taxi hasn't been sent yet but she will book it now. As you can imagine I was angry and the lady told me to calm down because I she just started and I have ruined her day and if I carry on being unhappy she won't take my order. Another 15 minutes passed and no sign of taxi. We decided to walk home with tones of food shopping. The second time, yesterday .. I have called the call centre at about 2 pm ordering a taxi to the train station for 3.50 pm. A girl asked me where from and to I told her the time and we said goodbye. My train was 4.20 pm and 3.50 there was no taxi for me. I called them to enquire and was told the taxi has been just accepted now. She was rude from the beginning and when I was telling her I need to collect the ticket too and drag 3 bags by myself that's why I booked it for a bit earlier she started telling me she will put the phone down if I won't stop talking. She then explained that when someone is going to the station they need 40 minutes advance which I told her I wasn't informed about at the time I called. I also wasn't informed that 3.50 pm which I booked was actually the time the taxi was accepted. She then said that I will be marked as priority but as it's a busy time on my area I will have t wait for about 10-15 min which would get me to the station 4.15 pm. I have waited for about 10 minutes. The taxi arrived 4.10 pm but I was already on my way to the station getting lift from my sisters friend. I was a minute before the train arrived luckily being late 4 minutes. I totally agree with the person who said it's the worst customer service. I have worked in a couple of call centres and have dealt with people all my life at work but this is the worst customer service I came across!!! It's like they have no organisation what so ever and pick people randomly. I could go on and on about them because this is how frustrated I was in this short period of time. Dummy_user_small shay123 1 review 1 12 December 2010 no star. i am extremely annoyed and disappointed at abba cars. just got into an abba car in warrington. i requested for a cab between 2 hospitals due to the nature of my job and this i had done yesterday when they called me to let me know the car had arrived. only today , i waited for 10mins and the cab hadnt called me so i decided to go into the snow and wait and i saw the cab there. the rude cab driver immediately started ranting that he had been waiting for 5 mins. i told him clearly that i had been waiting for the call and decided to come out to wait in the bad weather since he hadnt called. only for this driver to charge me extra for waiting. i got offended and decided to call the cab company to express my disapproval as only yesterday i had be phoned by the same cab company informing me of their arrival....guess what today phoning is no longer their policy. so ABBA CARS tell me...if yesterday it was your policy to phone what makes today differrent ? 2 pounds extra is absolutely nothing but the principle is what counts. abba cars i hope my 2 pounds makes you richer word for the wise.... AVOID them if you can, they make you wait for 30mins in the cold for them but charge you for not being down in 5 mins when its their fault !!!! read more

As a previous review already states ABBA does seem to have a monopoly in Warrington and as such can do pretty much what they want. I used them recently and stupidly left my mobile phone on the back seat. As soon as I realised I contacted the main office in a vain attempt to retrieve my belongings. I was extremely disappointed to hear that basically all drivers are self employed and it is up to them to decide how to act when and "if" lost property is discovered. There is no policy for them to report any discovered items and was told that usually due to the nature of taxis, basically nothing ever gets found and if it does the drivers do not have to report to the office but are advised to hand any lost property into the police . I was told to call back when the driver who had driven me was next working to see if he had found anything (but being self employed they have no regular hours) So far I have called 8 times over a 48 hour period and have yet to catch him working to discover once and for all if he has my phone. Overall a v v v bad customer service experience and have been left with the impression if you do have the misfortune to leave belongings in a cab carrying the "ABBA" name you will be v v lucky indeed to ever retrieve it. read more

On Friday 5th July, we booked a 7 seater for a return journey, to take us from Padgate to The Ferry Tavern at Penketh on Saturday, picking us up at 12:30pm. At 12:30 ABBA called to say they didn't have a 7 seater but would get someone (maybe 2 cabs) to us. At 12:50 a 7 seater mini van turned up, they'd got him from another company. Our return journey was booked for midnight but the event we were at finished earlier, at 11 o clock so we called ABBA and asked if there was a chance of an earlier taxi. They said no, but to wait where we'd arranged.which we did. At 12:00am we called again and was told the taxi would be with us in 15 mins. Yes, you've guessed it..no taxi!! We called again to be told they had no booking but could send two cabs that would arrive in 15 to 30 mins. Luckily we were able to flag down a couple of local cabs but by this time it was 12:45. ABBA you are a despicable taxi company who unfortunately (I wonder if it's by honest practice) have cornered the market in Warrington. Competition in the form of a professional taxi company is badly needed here, then we would never, ever need to use you again! read more

Booked a taxi, at least a week in advance, to take us to Manchester Airport at 4.30am on 18th December. We were quoted a fixed price of £22 for this journey. On the morning we were due to travel there had been a heavy fall of snow (about 6 inches) overnight. I contacted the office and the booking was brought forward 30 mins. No mention of an increased fare due to weather conditions. Yet when the taxi arrived, we were subjected to a petulant outburst from the driver, who claimed the fare quoted was only applicable in "good weather" and that he could make £10 from taking a passenger just a mile within Warrington! We were not happy that he thought he could make extra money out of us in this way. Strangely, I was not informed of the supposed increase in fare when I spoke to the office earlier that morning and the fare displayed on his taxi computer screen was £22. Needless to say, all he received was the £22...no tip for him! And to add insult to injury, he gave us his mobile number, in case we wanted him to collect us when we returned from our hols! my son had a bad experience with abba cabs on sunday morning. he was returning from town in one of their taxis and had about 9 pounds on him. he asked the driver if it would be enough and the driver said that it would be better to go to the speed till at asda westbrook. on arriving there the driver got out of his cab and realised my sons pants were wet(it was beer) he accused my son of urinating in his taxi and demanded that he withdrew 30 pounds out. my son could not find his bank card and in a drunken panic threw the 9 pounds at the driver and made off, the driver followed in his cab got out and began to kick and punch my son as he lay curled up on the floor. an independent passer by on her way to work had to drag the driver off and told him she was reporting him. he ran off and made off quickly in his cab. I am extremely cncerned that this driver is still working and if he did have a problem he certainly did not follow correct procedure. please be careful if you're young and a bit vulnerable. read more

We had the same problem last night 24th August 2013. We phoned and booked a taxi when we were waiting to get the train from Manchester to Birchwood Warrington at 2115 arriving at Birchwood at 22.15. We thought that giving them plenty of time and it was early in the evening they would be able to get a taxi to be their to pick us up. BUT NO we arrived at Birchwood Warrington on time NO TAXI. We phoned and was told one was on its way and would 5 to 10 mins. One did turn up but we was told it was'nt for us so we waited and then phoned again then the same taxi that had been their early came again with another passenger. Then we was told that this was for us after waiting until 22.55. This is not the first time this as happened to myself and many of my friends. THEY ARE THE WORST TAXI COMPANY IN WARRINGTON. i THINK ITS TIME THEY REVISED THE COMPANY POLICY OR GET OUT AND LET SOMEONE ELSE HAVE A GO TO GIVE A BETTER SERVICE. read more

I got into an Abba taxi in the early hours of Sunday morning and left my phone on the front seat. I know full well my phone is in that car as I made and received calls whilst in the car and as soon as I got out I noticed it wasn't in my pocket and the driver had sped off, I instantly contacted abba to ask if they could radio the driver as he would easily still be in the area and they refused and hung up on me. For the last few days I've been calling abba but they don't want anything to do with it, now im a £500 phone down knowing some indecent driver has obviously kept it for himself instead of handing it in!!!! and to top it off he tried to over charge me by £10, a £15 journey turned into a £25 journey, which I refused to pay.. no wonder he's kept my phone. read more

WEDDING NIGHT NO SHOW! Our wedding night taxi booked 2 weeks before and checked the day before. When they were late I phoned and was told a car was on it's way (I had specifically requested and agreed a black cab, but they said it was a normal car and couldnt send a black cab). Phoned a second time and was told there was no record of our booking, then they found it and said someone had been and there was nobody there. I explained that there had been 100 people there and you couldn't miss me, I was the one in the wedding dress!!!! she said they would send another car. my husband and I were now waiting outside Walton Hall with just a few guests reamining. After another phone call I ended up getting a family member to come back to collect us. read more

Had a trip planned to visit my mother in Spain, booked a taxi through the Abba cars app and everything went smoothly and was confirmed. The taxi was booked for 03:00 Sunday morning. Got a phone call from them at 02:45 to tell me that they were running a promotion and my name had been pulled out and I had win a free trip to the airport. What a fantastic way to start my trip. The taxi was there 5 minutes early and the app notified me that he was outside. The driver was super polite, great service, great app and a massive thank you. read more

I have just lost a doctor's appointment due to a no show, I phoned and they said that their computer system was down, having previously said they had no record of my booking. Previously they nearly made me miss a train to London (a family trip), I phoned and luckily they still had time to send another taxi. This driver drove like crazy to make us arrive on time and he managed to do it, but the anxiety we suffered was totally unnecessary. Shame about the lack of alternatives, they get away with murder. read more

i think that abba cars are one of the best and one of the politest taxi companies in Warrington every time that i have been in a taxi with them they have been verry kind to us and i always give them a tip they have freephones in many supermarkets so that you can ring them witch is realy helpfull and tythe drivers are the best they never ignore you and are always chatty also the people on the phone are verry clear in what they say and they are also very polite read more

Appalling service. Abba left us high and dry waiting at Arley Hall in the rain at 01:00. Every 10 mins we phoned. Every time they said they were sorry, but they'd be there in 10 mins. After 40 mins, we shared a lift with another couple. I wouldn't have minded if they said they had no cabs, but stringing you along is inexcusable. I will never book a taxi with them again and I would strongly suggest that you don't either. read more

Terrible Service. Taxi booked in advance eventually came 50 minutes late. When I rang up when it was 15mins late I was told the job had been picked up and the taxi was on its way. I rang again 15mins later and was told they were still waiting to find me a car. I wish they would just tell you when you book that they're not going to be able to make it rather than lying. read more

One of the crappiest car companies I have ever come across. Imagine the cab being 15 minutes late, even though I call for it an hour prior to the time. The cab driver told me it was ''only 15 minutes late and if I didn't get in I would be barred for life''. Who are they kidding? Very poor service. Have used on a number of occasions and they regularly let me down. Everything from drivers driving away 5 minutes before they are even due, to arriving very late and even one driver trying to charge £8 for a £5 journey because I was 1 minute late coming out of the house! Scandalous service We left valuables in the taxi, and despite calling the control room immediately (30 seconds later) the items were apparently lost We will be reporting this to the police (as i hear from friends that they too have had similar experiences) Abba Taxis warrington should be avoided.
