He said it was growing again.. when he guaranteed the first time that I would NEVER worry about this toe nail again.. Yeah.. the needles wouldn't hurt more than having a baby ( that's what he said to me) except.. that I've never had a baby..so, thanks a lot for that experience!

Most of all he is knowledgeable and has many years of experience. I am a nurse and work on my feet 12 hrs daily. I developed a debilitating tear in my tibial tendon. I also had an accessory navicular bone. This was causing me extreme pain and swelling while on my feet. I was unable to work or even walk/stand for prolong periods. I tried resting my ankle, a CAM boot and physical therapy but unfortunately it did not get better. I needed surgery and consulted with a local ankle orthopedic surgeon. He recommended and insisted I would need a tendon transfer and ankle fusion with hardware. When asked about the option of a more conservative approach he became dismissive and even rude. I later found out he rarely offered his patients those options. I saw Dr. Emmy Oji shortly after and he recommended a much more conservative approach. I had so many questions and he was very patient with me and answered them all. Dr. Oji was able to complete a tendon debridement and keep my tendon along with removing the accessory navicular bone. It was a lengthy recovery of being in a cast and boot for 3 months then regaining my strength back with PT. Dr. Oji was very positive and encouraging along the way. I am very grateful to be 1 year post op and able to work my 12 hour shifts with minimal pain.

Dr Rupley failed to remove the nerve in the 2nd toe and had put me in a situation where i have to have foot surgery again. Dr Rupley was unqualified to do this simple surgery that was requested of her. In addition, at my follow up visit, she told me to remove my own stitches and didn't have the respect to tell me she was leaving the office where she was working. Unfortunately I found out she was gone after the fact. This has caused me great harm as I'm now in more pain then the neuroma caused and can not out on any shoe unless it has a fabric top due to my 2nd toe being bent upward.

Then Dr Sergio Melara (the other extremely young Dr at the practice) diagnosed my foot problem in minutes taking his time to ask questions and most importantly "listen" to the answers! Dr Kaplin and Dr Melara may be young Doctors but they are obviously the most competent podiatrists I've ever been to. There was no barrier between my foot and the chair, and the drawer lips were dusty. Full Version My initial procedure didn't have any issues like this, besides the dusty drawers, but my checkup did. He walked in and greeted me, he is very kind. He immediately started poking at my foot with his bare hands (this was a checkup after surgery, so he knew where to look). He started trying to see how sensitive it was by attempting to extract fluid by squeezing, again NO GLOVES!!! Then, without washing his hands, he grabbed a medicine bottle (antibacterial, I think), squeezed some out, and directly brought the bottle to my foot. I even felt the plastic touch my foot. Then he simply put the cap back on and bandaged my foot. He even shook my hand, still without washing his hands. The scariest 5 minutes in any doctor's office I've ever had.
