Lily has been phenomenal with helping Bandit learn what is appropriate and not appropriate behavior. He has improved significantly in the short amount of time we've been working with Lily. He has significantly become more come and less fearful of other people and dogs around him. If you work with Lily and are consistent with what homework she gives you, your dog will be exceptionally trained.

As you told me directly before I enrolled Theo in your board-and-train program -- and as shown in…read moreour messages attached here -- the program was supposed to include basic commands, leash manners including pulling, potty training, crate training, socialization, and behavioral issues such as jumping, nipping, and crying, and etc. You also specifically stated that the program included 2 training videos for me to continue working with Theo when he gets back home and 1 follow-up lesson. Now you are saying that these behaviors require continued consistency and reinforcement after the dog returns home. But how was I supposed to properly continue and reinforce the training when you never provided me with the promised training videos or the follow-up lesson? Please do not shift responsibility onto the dog. Theo is an American Cocker Spaniel, a breed widely known for being intelligent and trainable. You knew his breed, age, and behavioral issues before accepting him into your program and taking my payment. If you believed those issues could not be meaningfully addressed within your program, that should have been communicated before I paid you -- not after the fact as an explanation for why there was no progress. I do not need you to tell me that you "understand that my expectations were not met." These were not simply my expectations. These were services that YOU specifically told me were included in the program and that I paid you to provide. I expected you to do what you promised. More importantly, I have seen no meaningful progress in the very behaviors you were hired to address. Theo already knew basic commands such as sit, down, stay before he stayed with you. Yet after three weeks in your care, he still pulls on the leash, bites my hands, chews walls and other things in the house, has potty accidents, and has even urinated inside his crate. Based on the results I have seen, the issues I specifically hired you to work on were not resolved or meaningfully improved. It has now been more than a month since Theo came home. You had plenty of time to send the 2 promised training videos, provide the 1 follow-up lesson, and return Theo's favorite toys that were left with you. Instead, my messages were repeatedly ignored. What is especially concerning is that after weeks of being unable to get a response or the services you promised, I posted an honest review describing my experience -- and suddenly you have time to respond and offer to come over. At this point, I am no longer comfortable working with you. My trust in you as a trainer has been completely lost. Based on my personal experience, I would not feel comfortable recommending that other dog owners leave their pets in your care. I am requesting a refund of the amount I paid for this program. You have already contacted me right after I posted my review here, and I asked for a refund, and so far my request has also been ignored.

Prior to starting, the owner Clint and his employee Joshua came to my house to discuss what I expected and to make sure that Joshua and my dog got along. They were both right on time for our meeting, and I was very impressed with how professional the meeting was. After I explained what type of care my dog needed, which included walking in the neighborhood twice a day and medicating her ears, Clint asked if there was anything else I needed done around the house while I was gone. In addition to taking care of my dog, it was no problem for Joshua to water my plants, bring in my mail and put the trash cans by the curb. It was up to me how often I received updates about how my dog and my home were doing while I was gone. I received my first text when Joshua arrived at my home to assure me that my dog was fine, and Clint told me he also got daily reports from Joshua that all was well. I was so confident that my dog and home were being properly cared for, I had a great vacation, never worrying once. When I got home, I saw that my dog had been excellently cared for, my mail was stacked neatly on the kitchen table, and the bed linens used by Joshua were washed. The price for their services was also very reasonable. I plan to use Travelin' Chimp again and I do not hesitate to recommend them to everyone.

Mine, and my animals, lucky day was when we were introduced to Clint, the owner of Travelin' Chimp…read moreAnimal Care. My four-legged babies (and three-legged, actually), are just as important as my human two-legged kids, so for me to hire someone to take care of them is a huge deal. Not only does the person have to be trustworthy and capable, reliable and responsible, and love animals, but they also have to be able to deal with my insecurity and the crazy care we give our pets. Clint, and Courtney, one of his caregivers, are both so amazing and wonderful, and have all these traits and more! I completely trust them with our dogs and cats, and the care of our home when we're away. To have that feeling of complete trust is worth a million bucks, but yet their fees are so reasonable! Nothing fazes them, either - Clint was going to take my kitty in for her chemo treatment (we ended up switching protocols, so this wasn't necessary, but he totally would have done it). My dogs are crazy, too, so walking them is sometimes quite difficult. But, Clint does it with seemingly ease. We simply couldn't lead the busy, crazy life we do, if it weren't for the "village" to help take care of us all. You can rest easily knowing that Travelin' Chimp is caring for your pets and home; and you can believe that each employee has been more than carefully vetted and is equally as capable, loving and trustworthy as Clint. He wouldn't hire anyone to work for him, that he wouldn't hire himself to take care of his pets. They are all wonderful, and I couldn't more highly recommend this company and group of animal loving people!!!

I wish I had known about Kristin of Cognitive Dogs training program when I first rescued Charlie…read more The poor guy struggled with severe leash and fence reactivity, and every time he saw another dog, the barking was deafening. People would literally come out of their homes to see what was happening. After nine months, seven different trainers (yes, seven), and wasting a ridiculous amount of money, I felt helpless. With our honeymoon just a few weeks away and nowhere to board him, I tried a couple Rover daycare places that also did boarding, but we were turned away because of his reactivity. Desperate and super sad for him, I scoured the internet for trainers and dove into every single review. That's when I came across Kristin of Cognitive Dogs and decided to reach out. I was skeptical after so many disappointments, but during our consultation, she was so thorough, patient, and confident in her abilities that I decided to schedule an 8-week board and train. In the weeks leading up to when we handed Charlie off to her, she sent very thorough, organized emails with instructions on what to pack and what to expect. During the training, she answered texts promptly, sent photos and progress videos, and kept us updated without overdoing it. It was clear her focus was on actually training my dog, not just sending staged pictures and video updates. When she brought Charlie back, I was nervous but hopeful. The difference was unbelievable. He's still the same silly boy, but now he's attentive, obedient, and can calmly handle seeing and passing by other dogs. His leash manners and overall confidence have completely transformed him into the dog I could only dream of since we rescued him almost a year ago. Kristin's program is the only one that truly worked for us, and I can't recommend her enough. Dog training is always an investment, but this one is absolutely worth it.
