Recently had a kitchen cabinet repaired, and flooring replaced in most of our downstairs after…read morebeing damaged from an unknown water leak from our dishwasher. Tyler is very knowledgeable, and gave an honest assessment of what needed to be done. He is very thorough and meticulous as he also discovered a water leak around the powder room toilet, with damaged sub flooring which he replaced. He also had to unexpectedly treat some unknown mold. He then detected some slight warping in the new flooring shortly after they began laying it. He dealt with the flooring company even when they initially said it was fine. He insisted it was defective and proved this to them through photos and an on-site visit. He had all the new flooring replaced with a different option and the job was completed as quickly as possible. He was always very conscientious about keeping our home clean, safe, and "livable" during the project knowing we have 2 toddlers and 3 dogs in the house. Have nothing but great things to say about him and his assistants. Would recommend his company to anyone!

We hired AK Marble & Granite in October of 2021 to remodel our kitchen. They were to do tile…read moreflooring, base cabinets, an island, pantry and granite countertops. After a year we had to take them to court because the installer never put thinset under our tile floor and the floor is lifting. Grout continues to pop out to this day. We told AK about this and they came back to try and fix it but their way of fixing it was to just add more grout which didn't resolve a thing. We never received the rollouts for our pantry or island as promised, yet the price for these items was to be included in our contract. They kept telling us we would get a discount at the end. Continue reading and you will see that my discount was an increase of $5,578.98. I asked how much of a discount for the missing rollouts and they said they would take $400 off. I will admit at first I agreed because honestly I was sick of dealing with them but then I realized that their discount was way less then it would cost me to get all the roll outs so I said we would wait until they came in. We most definitely never got a fair discount for anything or any of our rollouts. They never ordered the correct amount of tile for our floor although we were charged for 600 sq ft of tile flooring. AK told his installer not to lay it under our appliances because we wanted to save money yet the 600 sq ft which is in our contract was wall to wall. Which is what we paid and still to this day didn't receive. We did agree that they didn't have to go under the cabinets but we asked from day one and multiple times after that to go under all of our appliances. When we agreed to not have them go under the cabinets we were told there would be a discount as it would be less flooring but that clearly wasn't the case. The installer wasn't going to go under our washer and dryer in our mud room at first because AK told him not to and I had a fit! Who doesn't tile under their washer and dryer? I mean come on! When we went to visit their facility to select the granite we wanted we were interested in two different slabs. AK told us they were both the same price per sq ft. We selected one and the very next day asked if we could switch to the other and were told it would cost more. We should've ran at that point but we just gave them $20,000. Our total contract with them was for $31,800. I didn't understand this as the square footage wasn't changing. This was the one I wanted so I asked how much more and was told maybe $500. I said fine and gave them the ok to do it. The very next day AK's wife text me and said AK said there would be no additional price for the change of the granite. Although once we filed to sue them they filed a counter claim saying we still owed them over $5,578.98 for the granite. Funny thing is we already paid them what we agreed for the granite. We paid them $20,000 to start. Then about a week later they asked us to pay another $5000 for the flooring even though it wasn't completed but we paid it. Then they came and put in the cabinets and counter and wanted another $5000 which we paid. Our balance at that point should have only been $1800 but remember my discounts. They asked if they could come get the final payment of $1800 and they would drop off the last box of tile for my husband to finish the floors because they couldn't come back and do it and I told them no!! I said I would see them in court as this was ridiculous and had gone too far. They never mentioned an increase in our granite to me at this point either. They were increasing the counters costs by $5,578.98 yet they never mentioned it! We never signed anything that we were going to pay more for the counters. Remember I have the text from AK's wife saying there would be NO increase in the countertops. They never mentioned this price increase to us at all until we sued them. This company is crocked! Be very careful! We were awarded in court and their counter claim was not. However, now they won't pay. We need to hire someone else to come fix the job they did. Some of the granite is cut uneven which he told us was because our house is old. AK made the template. They claimed that they finished the job and we still owed them $5,578.98 yet we never received a final bill! They claimed in court that they emailed it. I checked my email and nothing. This was my discount people! Beware!! We never had time to even look at anything that they completed and they had their hand out wanting money. Now they asked if we would give them six months to pay what we were awarded in court. I don't want to wait 6 months. AK called us dumb faces and said he believes in god and he will see us in court and do what the judge says but he's not! We are having to go after him to force him to pay. We were asked when they thought we were happy to give an honest google review. Now they have their lawyer asking us to remove our review. Which I will not! I want others to be warned about this company!

I hired Ed to refinish and re-stain the floor in my dining room, living room and stairway. Ed…read moreshowed up to my house on 9/9/21 and started sanding the dining room on the first day while his friend Mark worked on the two stair treads. He was watching what Mark was doing when he was there. He was not working on sanding or anything related to it at the time. He told me on Friday that he would be working Saturday 9/11/21 in order to finish sanding the floor. On Saturday he showed up around 9:30am and by 11am he asked if he could leave to go watch a football game. He returned around 3:30pm and rushed around to finish sanding the floor. He was at the house for no more then an hour and a half. During that time he sanded the three aluminum strips between the vinyl and wood floor by the kitchen and bathroom. See attached photos. He also sanded the aluminum strip between the carpet and wood floor at the doorway of the bedroom. I was very worried about having him continue so I called him up and spoke with him on Saturday evening around 6pm. He assured me the floor would look nice and it would be completed in a timely manner. I was very hesitant to proceed but I did. On Monday 9/13 I spoke to him and he was going to finish sanding the floor and replace boards which I had asked him not to do. I told him multiple times I did not want the floor boards replaced until he put a sample of stain on the floor over the existing stains in the floor show through. He told me multiple times without ever applying the new darker stain that they would most defiantly show through. He went against what I requested and pulled the boards out anyway. When I came home he was replacing the red oak boards with white oak. I asked him why and he told me the NHWF association said there could be 5% white oak in a red oak floor. I found out this was a lie. I ended up firing him. When I did he called me an A*hole twice as he was loading up his equipment. In review the boards he cut out were not square and he damaged a perfectly good board with one of his tools by putting a 2-inch slit in it. I reviewed my security camera and noticed on 9/10 he showed up to my place and went inside and walked back outside to read the newspaper in his car for 28 mins before getting to work. He was the cheapest price for floor refinishing, but he lacked quality, professionalism, attention to detail and time management to complete the project. I have since had another contractor over to refinish the floors and he put Bona Driftwood mix on the floor and it has covered most of the stains as I figured it would. If he had just listened to my request he would most likely have finished the project. Hopefully I can save someone the trouble I went through with this review.

He was ok with it. He gave me a date a few weeks out. The night before I called to confirm and see if he wanted me to do to prep for his arrival. He sounded surprised, like he forgot about the job, but did arrive the next day. When I stopped home at lunch to see the progress, he seemed awkward . I asked him if he also does outdoor painting, to which he said he did. He said is this for you? I replied yes. He told me to call someone else and made a recommendation. It was very obviously at that point that he didn't want to work for me. The job started Thurs, continued to Friday and he planned on finishing on Monday, although he made it sound like a hassle. Monday came and I returned from work as he was starting to load his things in his truck. I swear he saw me as I was 5 feet away from him. I could tell from his body language that he was upset about something as he was slinging his stuff around. I was walking behind him about 5 feet and said hello and got no response. He went back in the house & slammed the door, literally with me a few feet away. I coughed it up to him having a hearing aid and maybe not hearing me but I KNOW he saw me. I gave him a few minutes before approaching him as he clearly was mad. He made several trips outside with his gear, haphazardly slinging it and slamming the door. After about 10 minutes or so I went in as he was "cleaning" up. I asked him a question about paint and also about the use of the fiberglass tape. My husband wanted to know if he did use it as it wasn't visible during any stages of the repair. Not only did he not make eye contact but he got real condescending and said " I used a whole roll is that good enough for you hon? I don't want to argue with you."..., real nasty. He continued to "clean" even more visibly angry at this point so I went on my porch as I felt uncomfortable in my own home. He finally left, yelling "it's all yours" before leaving. I went inside and found the bill laying there and thought how disrespectful that he couldn't even hand it to me, than proceeded to clean what he should have cleaned the remainder of the night. When I checked my phone later that evening he had sent a text telling me he left the bill and asking if I would be paying again by bill pay. The time was while he was still here! I responded the next day, told him I got it and would pay again with bill pay as I don't have checks. He asked when and I said now. I also told him that I felt disrespected by how he spoke to me. He did not respond until the weekend when he said he felt like I accused him, whatever. Dude was mad when I got there. The July 4th holiday came & by Monday he was texting me telling me he didn't get payment, to track it, call the bank etc. I screen shot the proof and reminded him there was a bank/mail holiday. He continued to press me for it texting constantly for 2 days! Each text got nastier. He accused me of not paying bills, threatening to come over to collect payment in cash, blah blah. At first I tried to be nice and reiterate what I had been saying all along. I told him it was very unprofessional to hound for payment. I even went as far as to send him a link explaining bill pay. I finally got ghetto on him and told him I would call the police to which he responded he didn't want the job anyway, than continued to text another full day. But I no longer responded. This man is the defination of unstable and clearly has either an addiction or gambling problem to hound someone for a measly $1000. I don't know how he stays in business with that attitude. I had to condense the story for space allowance but trust me, he is a wack job!
