I rented a living room set from Aaron's Rent To Own located at 2973 Headland Dr. SW Atlanta, GA, Phone number (404) 344-7005. After making 5 payments each of approx. $150 per month ($750), I decided to return the living room set back to the store since $15 out of every $150 I paid was being applied towards owning the living room set.
I called the store to let them know I wanted to cancel the lease and return the furniture on December 26, 2019. I was told by the store employee that she could not take my request but she would have her store manager Rodney call me back. He never did. I called again and was told the District Manager Mike Gholar would call me back. He never did. I called Aaron's customer service line on December 27, 2019 and submitted a complaint since no one at the local store would respond to my request. They told me a Regional Manager would call me back. He never did. I called their corporate office January 3, 2020 and two more times and was told the situation would be resolved. No one ever called me back.
I finally drove to the store in person on January 13, 2020 to make the same request to cancel the lease and return their furniture. The District Manager Mike Gholar told me he would have to get approval from his Regional Manager and that he would call me back the next day. He did call me back and offered to sell me the furniture for over $2,000 total which I declined because it's only worth $1,000. Mike Gholar and I set an appointment for January 15, 2010 for his store to pick up their furniture but they never showed up. I have called back everyday to reschedule but he will not take my phone calls or call me back. I have been nothing but polite, professional and paid on my account every month on time. Now they are trying to make me keep the furniture so that I will have to continue to pay them every month. I no longer want to do business with them at all due to their terrible unprofessional behavior. A fair resolution to this issue is that I want Aaron's Rent a Center to come pick up their furniture and cancel my lease before the January 30, 2020. I am not going to make anymore payments to them. read more
