I told Tara I had changed me mind and wanted to look at a different car. It was no problem. She went and got the other car with a smile. She told us about the car and let us go for a drive. She was great!! Nothing was too much!! When we bought the car she took us over and introduced us to Affran. He was so nice also!! He told us all about the financing and the warranty. He was all smiles and couldn't do enough to answer all our questions. I would definitely use them again!!! Very happy!!! Carol & Herb C.

NOW...took the Jeep to my Jeep dealership for them to look at the wheels and tires and they told me that the wheels were from an older vehicle and the tires were most likely off an older Jeep. The engine was caked with mud but the body was great. The Jeep dealership stated that the most likely factor as to why the wheels and tires and the lack of accessories were not in great shape and the accessories were not in the purchase, is that someone connected to the dealership had switched out their own wheels and tires with the better set; thus I got their worn out set. This same person also most likely had taken the accessories for themselves...thus vehicle sold as is. I had a hunch of this, and to me this is the most logical explanation as to why I (the customer) got the shitty end of the stick. I have no confidence in the business they run and what goes on behind closed doors. In regards to all the mud...seems like someone had enjoyed a few dealer off-road excursions and just left the mess for me to clean up. Do I recommend Bayview...at this point absolutely not! Just a gut feel of deviant dealings.

I bought my 2014 Caravan from Cooney Auto Sales in August 2022 - it was my first vehicle. I got my…read morelicense when I was 36, but never owned my own vehicle till then - at 72 - and I know nothing. I had felt that they might overcharging me for routine repairs, but I figured that they were a family owned business going way back and wouldn't cheat a senior citizen - boy was I wrong! I needed a rear brake job, and they told me it could cost as much as $1200. When I picked it up, they wanted over $1900! When I complained, they allowed me to pay cash and take off the tax, so my cost was somewhere in the $1700s. I called around, and got quotes in the $400 to $600 range, so Ii went back to them. They said they used the best parts. I told them that they should have told me the price range with various parts and that they had taken that choice away from me, but the young mechanic stuck to his guns until I asked to see the owner - then he took out his wallet and gave me $400 cash - so my cost was not in the $1300s. Then it got WORSE! I found that I had no emergency brakes! I went to another shop who told me that Cooney had not bothered to reconnect my emergency brakes when they did the brake job - they showed me, and it was obvious. NO EMERGENCY BRAKES!!! So I went back to Cooney, talked to the owners, and demanded a complete refund. They thought about it for 24 hrs, called me, and offered to reconnect the emergency brakes, but would give no further refund. I told them that I could not trust them, and went elsewhere to get it done. I later asked the local Chrysler dealership what they would have charged me for the rear brake job, and they quoted well under $1000 with OEM parts, whereas Conney's initial bill was almost $2000! (Cooney's later argued that Chrysler would have charged me $2500.) These are all facts. Draw your own conclusions!

A neighbour had purchased a pre-owned Nissan Juke and a Nationwide warranty from Stormy's. The…read morewarranty provided peace of mind by ensuring that future major issues with the car were covered. Stormy's represented that the warranty was good to 200,000 Km and that ALL mechanics would accept this 3rd party warranty. Stormy's mechanic provided the safety certificate on the Nissan Juke. On that basis, I referred a friend to Stormy's to purchase a car. Stormy's sold her on a 2011 Subaru Outback and the Nationwide warranty and furthermore said that if the warranty is never used, the premium would be refunded. They also agreed on a trade-in for her current vehicle. Stormy's mechanic provided the safety certificate on the 2011 Subaru Outback. Funny thing though, when it came time to sign the deal, Stormy's netted out some numbers (purchase price vs trade-in) for reasons that they could not explain. It had no impact on my friend but it confusion and uncertainty at the time of signing since the numbers were not at all the same as were discussed for the purchase price and the trade in. That should have been a clue however to events that followed. Fast forward several weeks. The neighbour's Nissan Juke would not start. She had to replace the battery. The safety inspection should have verified that the voltage of the battery and the charging system are within the manufacturer's specifications. Perhaps they overlooked that or perhaps it is a coincidence that the battery died within weeks of the safety inspection. After three months, my friend's car was taken in for routine maintenance at her local Subaru dealer's service centre in the east end of Ottawa. The Subaru dealer refused to recognize the Nationwide warranty. They observed that Nationwide would not pay promptly and would require cheaper non-original manufacturer replacement parts. The Subaru mechanic also observed that the brake pads in my friend's car were not original manufacturer's brand and furthermore they had been installed upside down! The Subaru dealer reversed the brake pads at no charge. This is really strange given the safety inspection requires: "Brake drums and disc brake pads shall be removed from all wheel brakes, except from those wheel brakes which are designed to provide adequate examination without removal of brake drums or disc brake pads but not including a brake which by inspection or performance testing indicates a defect, and all operating and structural components of each wheel brake assembly shall be inspected and tested." When Stormy's was asked to comment on these issues they denied any wrongdoing, claimed that mechanics routinely criticize other mechanics' work. Furthermore, they said, because 3 months have passed since the warranty was issued, any refund from Nationwide is unlikely. This is even though the warranty has not be used. My friend will have to contact Nationwide to determine if a partial refund might be available. Stormy's did verify that the Subaru dealer at the west end of Ottawa would recognize the Nationwide warranty but that would be quite inconvenient to travel across town for servicing. Stormy's suggested paying by credit card for repairs and then seeking refund from Nationwide. This suggestion would require my friend assuming the administrative task of warranty administrator. My neighbour and my friend are concerned that the safety inspection done by Stormy's was superficial and that there was serious misrepresentation regarding the warranty. These are clearly an ongoing issues. Both my neighbour and my friend did not receive peace of mind from their car or warranty purchases from Stormy's. When you purchase a car from Stormy's, I strongly recommend an independent mechanic do the safety inspection certification and to think twice about purchasing a warranty since it may not be recognized by other mechanics. Stormy's people were very friendly, hence the two stars. Unfortunately their representations fall short of reality. We are currently looking into filing formal complaints.
