My wife and I are avid board game players, so when we stumbled across this little gem on our honeymoon to Denmark, it felt as if we found our nirvana. We had 3 days in Aarhus and every night we would return here.
The staff is so friendly and helpful. I have about 80 games in my collection and it looked like they had all of mine and then over 200 more. Most of the games are in English and they have two rooms with plenty of nice tables and comfy chairs to play in.
There is a bar with drinks and a few munchies, later in the evening the staff will bring by some peanuts to your table. The coffee is good and the beer is local which we loved. It gets pretty busy but not in a bad way. Just nice to see all the different games in action.
One thing worth noting, the curator of the games has taken extreme care at keeping them well preserved. All cards of games are in sleeves and all pieces are in their own plastic baggies. There is even a rubber band around all the boxes to keep everything together and not fall out as you take it to your table.
I need to find a place like this fast in the Bay Area. Definitely a highlight to our honeymoon. read more
