I need at least a basic understanding of what is or what is likely going on. Diagnosis can be problematic when the patient can't just tell you what is wrong. The vet gives me a window into what is happening and what the options are. I give him data on what I've observed and what has changed from normal. Together we can plot a course of action to get a sick or injured animal back on the road to recovery or at least to a gentle end of suffering when no other humane options are left. Then there's the bulk of visits which are maintenance like annual checkups with vaccinations, blood draws and preventive prescriptions. You want to see your animals treated with compassion when they might not be thrilled to be there. It's a small puncture to protect them from parvo, distemper or rabies but you can't explain it to them. You just have to get it done quickly and as compassionately as possible. The veterinarians and staff at Pet Center are compassionate and caring. They are knowledgeable and stay up to date. I've been with one of their vets for 20 years, through good times and through heart break. I like the way he and the other vets explain things to me and work with me to keep my much beloved cats and dogs healthy and happy.

So I have had to find help for my Cat... Coming from a farm, we didnt grow up spending thousands on…read morevet bills, you just did the best you could. However, we now live in a world where medical care is accessible and our pets are family. So upon finding out that I needed to spend $600 to get the testing for my cat, I instantly was worried, as rent is due, car is due, and i recieve my own bi weekly medical treatment that costs over $250,000 per year. So I was initially excited to know they would work with me on doing certain tests 1st. After agreeing to $160 today, we found out it isnt his Thyroid.... So after that my anxiety set in and I tried to ask various questions to get some kind of idea on what to do... A vetinarians time is precious, as I could hear the barks and cries of several animals that also need care, so i was not expecting a long counsel... However, after she was repeating herself several times and not seeming to understand I was looking for some comfort and not another cost rundown, I could see her frustration with me building... After a few more questions, a few more repeated non answers (obviously i know she cannot diagnose my cat without the tests, im not simple) I said "clearly you are becoming frustrated with me" this seemed to embolden her to at that point realizing that she had already took all the money from me she could get, asked me to find another vet because clearly this was not working out". At no point in time was I disrespectful to her or her staff, they all seem to be amazing people, I was not loud, or condescending, it just seemed like she took the easy road knowing i had no more money to give her... Im sure if I had agreed to anouther almost $450 of testing that day, she would have found it in her heart to be a little more understanding, but clearly she was in her feelings a little too much for having been called out for her visible annoyance at me. Maybe next time, excuse youself, compose your attitude, and dont let the customer see you so out of sorts in your position of authority, as it did not instill confidence in your abilities. Over all I would not say dont go here, as everyone including the Vet seemed to be very kind people. I would just say, dont expect much empathy for not knowing how to proceed when your animal is sick.

This location has only been open for a few months, but they are already making a great impression!…read moreI decided to check this place out most recently because of schedule changes occurring for my job due to COVID-19. I was delighted to hear this business would still be open. The onboarding process was pretty simple and painless. You visit the website, setup an account, add the required vaccdocuments for your pet, and schedule a meet & greet session. What is unique is that their meet and greet sessions are about 3-4hrs. This gives the staff time to observe the pet in different settings and evaluate their demeanor. What's also nice is daycare is complementary for the remainder of the day if your pet is approved. You can schedule daycare either online, by phone, or in person. Since this location recently opened they had a special for unlimited play for the month. Daycare is available M-Sat so you will definitely get your moneys worth if you so choose. Outside of that special, their rates are pretty pricey but standard of most facilities of this caliber. I'd love to see some discounted rates available to locals of preferred employers or something! Now let's talk staff. I've met a good chunk of the daycare staff and they are all superb. Very friendly, genuine, and most of all professional. This gives me confidence that they will take good care of my dog. My dog is always excited to be there and reluctant to leave at the end of the day! The special touches this company gives are also worth mentioning. They have livestream webcams in all of their play areas and in the grooming area as well. You can access the webcams on their website. The daily Pupdate/Report cards are so adorable. I don't know how they do it but somehow they manage to make my dog love the camera every single time...I normally can't even get him to look at the camera! I'd love to be able to tour the facility once things calm down from COVID but I don't doubt that I will continue to use their services in the future.

I was extremely skeptical at first because I did not want to leave him and have him abused or attacked. I would check the cameras every half ho ur and call up every few hours and have seen nothing but good things. When I ask them about how his day was they always know even the most minuets details. Bandit loves it here he is always so excited to go in. He is a border collie so he's stressed easily but seems so confortable here and not stressed at all.

When I ask what he would do with his own pet, I trust him 100%! As for those reviewers who give a poor rating because you are asking an established veterinary office to see your pet fairly quickly (when you have not kept up on their shots and annual visits), or want to board where you are not established, you obviously don't know how busy his loyal clients keep him! We get reminder cards in the mail, we take them in for their annual checkups and get their scheduled vaccinations. When my pet is very ill and needs to be seen, Dr. Leach will do everything he can to assist with my pet. BTW: Our boarding facility (not PeachTree) will not allow you to board unless your dog is in day care at least once a month. This helps establish dogs within their facility, and there are plenty of clients who will fulfill this requirement.

He and his wife have retired, and unfortunately it's just not the same. We took one of our dogs in due to a huge lump on her back leg that had me concerned. The new doctor looked at the lump, suggested that it was impossible to know what it was w/o surgery. Scheduled surgery, went home. I looked at the lump again, checked her all over - which the doc had not done! She's got similar smaller lumps all over, she's not bothered by them, nor is she bothered by the new big lump. I decided they were all fatty tumors which are fairly common and benign, I have similar lumps myself. We're also medical people, so we reassured ourselves! These don't require surgery, so i canceled hers. More than a year later she's still a healthy frisky 14 y/o senior. I think the doctor should've checked her thoroughly, would've recognized that she had several lumps and they were fatty tumors; shouldn't have suggested surgery as first and only option. Not sure what we'll do for the dogs vets next time, but we have been to Hortons' w/our cats.

I brought my dog there several times as a walk in before someone told me, in a quick tone, that you are supposed to make appointments. It made me feel very silly. Also, they did not ask for any vaccination records before boarding my dog for the weekend. This could lead to serious health problems for all pets if one infected/non-immunized animal comes in. We showed up to board our pet and they asked us "where is your food?" The employee we arranged the boarding appointment with had told us nothing about bringing food or any other details about boarding. These are important details that an organized business with a customer service plan would offer without asking. They are just too quick to get you off the phone and on to the next sale.
