Back again at this AAA a year later. I needed a passport photo. Sadly, I had a white Lulu polo shirt on. Forgot you cannot wear white, so went next door to Marshall's and bought a blue t shirt. I signed up for a train vacation which turned out to be very difficult considering our somewhat limited physical abilities. It was confusing traveling to various depots, not knowing that some are not accommodating to our limitations. This was the first and last trip we will take by train because of that primarily. Once on the train, things were fine. It was hard to get through AAA by phone because of not having a real person to talk with. We had to return home early due to having a virus. What happened to AAA? It used to mean "great roadside assistance", but I can attest to the fact that this is no longer the case. Twice in the past week I have called upon AAA to help me in situations (while not life-threatening) They were less than urgent in their response, or lack thereof. Last week I had a flat tire, yeah I can fix that myself, but I have a AAA membership that should take care of that. 3 hours after my call, I get a call back that the mechanic was on his way. I had already fixed the issue and was kind of blown away at their horrible response time. Fast forward less than a week later, we had a battery that needed to be replaced. Again, we called AAA only to find out it is another 3 hour wait (now going on 5 hours). Once again I am questioning why I paid out good money for a membership that doesn't live up to the services I had come used to over the years. Do I want my money back? In a word: YES. I know this is not something that will be offered to me, and after 30+ years of being a member of AAA, it saddens me that this institution in my life has failed me twice in a week. I am beginning to also question my auto insurance also thru AAA. So now that we've wasted a day waiting on AAA to get us back on the road, I just urge those of you reading this review to think twice about joining the Auto Club. If I could give AAA Road-side Assistance zero stars I would. I have been a member for 5 years and in that time I have needed a tow truck three times. The average wait time for service has been more than 4 hours on two occasions and once the tow truck never arrived after waiting more than 6 hours! AAA is expensive and is not worth the money. Go back to your insurance company and select the road-side assistance coverage. You will receive better service and spend less that half the money. read more

I went to get my international driving permit at Venice location. Lady at the front desk Diane was so condescending. I made a mistake filling out the form and she made a big fuss about the fact that she had to get me another (one page) form. I think as for someone working at the front desk she could me more approachable and nice to customers. read more

So I just received a trip tik from there office and when I went to scan the code the directions came up, great. But I need these directions to be transferred to my car monitor and it did not happen. Now I have a Hyundai 2024 tucson and the technology should be advanced enough to do this, but I am having problems making this happen. I called there office to ask them for help in accomplishing this task but was told that there was no one in the office that could help me. Come on guys,,,,, your telling me that you place a bar code onto the trip tik but have no idea how to have these directions appear into my car GPS? Yes, the directions appear on my phone, and yes I plugged my phone into my car, but then the directions change immediately to the fastest route and not the route that trip tiks has for me. Blows my mind that they do not have written instructions for them. That way when people call they can meet them in the lot and show them how it is done. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. Mary Petty and the AAA auto insurance company are thieves. I paid for 6-month premium on auto insurance on 12/6/22 for $1148.05. In February I started getting mail stating my insurance will be raised $938.93 with no explanation, I called Mary Petty and she said this is a mistake and she would take care of it. Then on March 6, 2023 my credit card was charged $938.93. I then went to Progressive Insurance and they gave me Auto insurance for 6-month for $1144.00 but they only charge my card monthly I then canceled my AAA auto insurance expecting a full refund of the $938.93 plus half of the original $1148.05 which would be $574.02. $938.93 $574.02 total refuns expected $1512.05 instead AAA gives me refund of $1197.66 with no explanation. AAA still owes me $314.40. At this point I tried to get my credit card company involved but now chase is saying the original payment in december is too long ago. I now have the Florida Department of Financial Services looking into this they are a division of the Florida Attorney generals office. I will filing a small claims law suit against Mary Petty and AAA soon I will keep everyone posted. read more

I canceled my Auto and Home insurance with AAA of Venice because they were very expensive, it's been two months now and I still haven't received my Auto refund!! And my Old Rep Mary Elizabeth has been no help .. She gave me a phone number to call but that hasn't worked either !! Not going out of there way to help me .. Horrible customer service!! Worst travel agency I have ever visited. Started out with unpleasant greeting when entering and requesting to see a travel agent. There was none available so told to take a seat and wait. I was with my two sisters and we wanted to book a sisters cruise. When we finally got a travel agent to help us she was not pleasant and hurried us so much we barely learned anything about what we wanted. When we asked about getting separate cabins she told us we couldn't afford that. How would she know that? We actually can! After all was said and done our price was around $800 each for a 5 night cruise, all 3 packed into one room. I went elsewhere and got a 7 night cruise for $850 each with separate cabins. And much better treatment. Never again AAA even though I've been a member since 1970. read more

Moved to Venice from Apollo Beach in January. Called Tammi wanting to transfer three back to back cruises we'd booked directly with Princess to her and to start using AAA Venice Travel and her as our agent for all future travel. Gave her my email and phone number as we were off on a cruise in three days. Never heard a word! We travel a great deal and need a travel agent who is reliable and responsive. AAA Venice and Tammi have proven to be neither. Our business will go elsewhere. read more

Our car battery was deader than a door-nail when we got back to Florida. Called AAA in Venice who sent over Brian from Flagship Towing. They were at the house within the hour and he got us all set in under a half hour! Personable and professional. Just the kind of young man you would want representing your company. read more
