Abby Plumbing did the plumbing work for the Enclave of Federal Hill (13 homes) in 2016. Since…read moreliving in our home for a year and a half, we have had two major plumbing malfunctions. The first problem was a result of the glue around the bathroom drain not being installed correctly, and the second issue was a result of the overflow drain in another bathtub being completely misaligned. This has resulted in water damage between our third and second floors in two areas. The first leak from the master bedroom into the kitchen was under our home's one-year warranty. The second was outside of the time frame (even though the problem was a result of faulty installation). We had Around the Clock Plumbing address the issues that Abby Plumbing would not. The findings were: - The overflow drains in two of our three bathtubs (3rd floor bathroom; basement bathroom) were completely misaligned, causing water to leak between the connection (or lack thereof). - The overflow drain in the 1st floor bathtub was aligned correctly, but the connection was extremely loose, causing the potential for a leak. - The caulk around the bathtubs in all three bathrooms was done very poorly and is completely cracked after less than 10 uses of each tub/shower. The part that is extremely troubling is that the technician who fixed the first leak admitted that they did not properly seal the drain because of a miscommunication between the plumbing company and tile company. He admitted that this would likely be the case in most of the homes. The majority of our neighbors have had some kind of leak with similar issues. We hoped that since the first leak was a shower (instead of the other tubs), that the problem would only be present in the one bathroom; unfortunately, this was not the case. Further, Abby Plumbing did not document coming to fix the first leak in our home. I have photos and phone records that prove otherwise, but they claim there was never an issue. This company is extremely unethical and should not be hired to perform any plumbing work.

A technician came to my house to assess my HVAC system that was not running cold. He ended up finding that there was no freon and a leak. Told me he needed a part for the leak and would give me an estimate. Closed the system up. We also spent some time discussing possibly replacing the unit because it is older. He then asked for $200 for one hour labor ($120 for first 30 minutes, $65 for second 30 minutes and $15 fuel charge). I was shocked, but paid. Neither of us would be charged. Caveat Emptor. Let the buyer beware. BN charged us almost $1000.00 for a few overpriced fire extinguishers. His crew cleaned the entire area around our home when they were done. The finished work looked great.  John was on site when the work began and when it was finished to follow up with us to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. It definitely was!  We enjoyed working with John and would definitely recommend Mid Atlantic as an excellent company. John even replaced a few boards in our back deck that we had requested during his initial roof inspection and estimation. We went with his company because it also did an excellent job of installing leaf free gutters several years ago. Again, we highly recommend John and his employees.
