A person makes a food donation and places it inside the box. Anyone in need is welcome to take food. This is obviously a wise church ministry. It's difficult for a hungry person to be receptive of a spiritual message if their empty stomach is growling louder than the message from the messenger. I got to see firsthand what this is all about. In reality this is a daycare center that offers after school bus service. They have a lot of kids enrolled! They also have a small private bus fleet. The public access area and this reservoir are owned by Spartanburg Water System. I located the customer service window and a very friendly and helpful lady answered all of my questions. Mainly I wanted to know if we needed a permit to fish here. The fishing is free but a South Carolina fishing license is required for people over sixteen years of age. Since my initial inquisitive visit we have fished to our hearts content. People visiting do have to adhere to some pretty basic rules. The Warden's office staff are a pleasure to talk to and they obviously like their jobs very much. I suggest a visit to the Warden's office to discuss any questions you may have before enjoying their beautiful lake and surrounding facilities.

Two days in a row at a place I don't particularly care for is a bit nerve wracking. The service itself ( like the perfectly orchestrated visitation yesterday ) was likewise executed to perfection! Each staff member of this place knew their part by heart and it was amazing. A truly gifted pastor named Reverend Tommy Wright delivered the main message. Another lay person also gave an uplifting speech and provided Holy Scripture as his reference. Blakely Funeral Home performed beyond excellent! Everything was orchestrated perfectly from the visitation, to the service to the graveside ceremony and military send-off. I've sadly attended a number of funerals but this ceremony was, by far, the most memorable and flawlessly executed.
