One insurer canceled my policy within 3 weeks because my home's value exceeded their insurable amount. And the agent did not realize this? When I asked this superstar agent to find me a replacement within the three weeks that my coverage remained in place, he never responded. Told me he would speak with a colleague to try to get the issue corrected but then never responded to my repeated emails. To add insult to injury, the canceled, paid in full policy "would take 6 weeks to be refunded." So in addition to working with an idiot agent from Pettineo, I then have to act as a bank and front the more than $8k for another policy while I "wait 6 weeks" for my refund. Don't let yourself be fooled by these people. They work with poorly rated insurers (Edison Insurance- read their reviews) and have dug deep into the clearance bin to find their "team" of employees.

All of this as our brand new home of not even a month was flooding from a busted pipe and we needed our insurance the most. To make matters worst Mr. Lazaro was completely not empathic at all going so far as to scream into the phone telling my husband "we shouldn't have bought a house if we couldn't afford the repairs." These are repairs that totaled over 10,000 after it was all said and done. Don't know many people with 10,000 lying around. Moral of the story do yourself a favor and take your business else where.
