    Castaic Towing Damaging my car

    I have been a AAA customer for over 10 years and I am shocked at the decline in service and lack of accountability that AAA takes towards members who have been loyally with them for so long. I initially called on September 3, 2022 for a tow at 12pm. I was told because of the holiday weekend they were extremely busy. I was told that the tow truck company would arrive by 5pm at the latest. 5pm came and went. I called back and was on hold for an hour before I finally got a representative who told me that the earliest they could have someone out to me was 8pm. I told them that since I need to get my car to the shop before it closed I would reschedule for September 4th. The tow truck driver from Castaic Towing arrived on time but did not come with the flatbed as I requested. When he showed up I told him that I was concerned because my car is extremely low to the ground. He told me not to worry. However, when he tried to get under the car, it ripped off the bottom lip and destroyed the bumper. He immediately tried to fix it and started arguing with me that he was not responsible for the bumper but only the bottom guard even though there were wires hanging and liquid was draining from the car. When I started arguing with him he refused to tow my car to the shop (after he damaged it) and said he was not responsible for the damage. I immediately called AAA and spoke to Karen (H867) who documented everything but said that any damage needed to be dealt with Castaic towing and that AAA was not responsible to which I replied that Castic Towing is a vendor of AAA and was assigned to me by AAA therefore AAA needs to take responsibility. Karen stated I should first try and "work it out" with Castaic towing. Below is the timeline of what transpired with Castiac Towing. 9/6/22 - Spoke with Abraham at Castaic Towing. He said his driver was only responsible for the bottom lip of the car. I told him that the car was at the shop and that there was significant damage to the car...much more than the bottom lip. He said he would go to the shop to see it in person so I gave him the address, phone number and shop owner's name. He said he would call. 9/7/22 - Called Castaic Towing to check on progress since the shop told me that nobody had called and nobody had come by. I got the dispatcher who said there was nothing they can do. I called back two hours later and got the same message 9/8/22 - Called Castaic Towing. Got dispatch. Was told that Abraham is out of the office on Thursdays and Fridays and to call back on Saturday 9/10/22 - Called Castaic Towing and was told that Abraham was not there. I left a message. Nobody called me back 9/11/22 - Called Castaic Towing five times. Got dispatch each time and told them that nobody is picking up in the office 9/12/22 - Called Castaic Towing and spoke with someone in the office. He said Abraham was out but he took a message and I told him that if I don't hear back and don't get a resolution by tomorrow that I would be filing a police report and a complaint with AAA. 9/13/22 - Called Castaic Towing and spoke with Abraham. He said he will only pay for "cosmetic damages" on the bottom lip. I said that he was supposed to go and inspect the car and now he stated that he did not need to do so and that he saw the pictures his tow truck driver had given (after he pulled the tow truck away) and is not responsible. I informed him that he was obviously "playing games" and that I would be now filing a formal complaint with AAA. I immediately went into my local Valencia CA branch and met with the branch manager Val Ringor who upon reviewing my photographs agreed that Castaic Towing was at fault. She requested an estimate from the mechanic...which I provided...for $3,000 in damage. She submitted all the paperwork. I waited for close to a month before someone from AAA left me a voice mail message saying "Castaic Towing is a 3rd party vendor and therefore I needed to work it out with them." I called Val Ringor again and was furious that now, over a month later, I was right back where I started. I demanded that my situation be escalated. I received an email from Andrea Black on October 18th asking me for documentation. She and I went back and forth for a few days before she came back with an offer of $500. I was beyond furious. It had taken AAA a month and a half to offer me five hundred dollars when I had close to THREE THOUSAND in damages. I called up AAA who is also my insurance company and filed a claim. The adjuster AGREED with the estimate and my insurance covered $3000 in damages minus the 250 deductible that I was still being held responsible for! The way AAA handled this situation and dealt with a long-time member is beyond shameful. They are a huge company who obviously has shown through their actions that they do not care about the "little guy" even if that person has been a loyal member.

    Today, 8/28/24, Wednesday, I woke up early this morning counting my blessings and I want to include Brenda~Member Services ~Long Beach, CA. Back in the day, (Approximately 37 years ago. That is how long I have been an AAA member and proud to say, I am 65 years old. I know some of you are doing the math because, when you grow older for some reason We become extremely nosey and I became a AAA member at the age of 27 years old. Lol's) AAA used to thrived on, "Excellence", with Customer Service. They had Zero Tolerance for any employee to be disrespectful or rude to the customers no matter how irritating We are/have and still are at times. I'm just saying. Lol's In reality, AAA Customer Service was so Elite until We often complained about the cost, but, when you are involved in an Auto accident and/or you vehicle breaks down on the road. Keeping it 100, all you had to do back in the day was make that one phone call on the back of your membership card and it was like let the games begin with the Agents providing, "Legendary Customer Service!" These Agents were So "Legendary", until We felt confident that everything was going to be alright, (Just like belated Bob Marley songs~Every little thing is going to be alright) and that is/was exactly what happened!! One of the Manager's, (Mr. Redmond ~Since has retired in Highland, CA, AAA office ) use to be in the AAA office on "D", Street located in San Bernardino, CA, (Until AAA located to Highland), personality was calm, and his voice entwined with his conversation made it possible for him to de-escalate any irate customer entering AAA, leaving with a smile, and apologizing for being rude. The beauty of it all, Mr. Redmond would always say, "It is understandable why you are frustrated, but that is what We are here for to take care of you.." Mr. Redmond knew AAA insurance is/was/still expensive. Lmbo He provided Legendary Service that was off the charts until that is/was why customers did not mind paying the high cost. "It is what it is." So, that is enough bragging about Mr. Redmond. Ladies and Gentlemen please help me give a hugest round of applause to Brenda from Member Services in Long Beach, CA, office, (I want to make sure the right AAA office with the right agent and name get these accolades!), that is real talk!! Brenda has taken the baton from Mr. Redmond and ran through the finish line, winning the race with, Legendary Customer Service!! She showed up, (Contacting me via cellphone from a concern I had. I left a message and Brenda returned my call) What was Amazing she Showed Out, (First, Acknowledged and thanked me for being a AAA member for 37 years), (Even when times was hard financially in my late twenties I always stayed with AAA high-end insurance. Some family members left AAA trying to save money and I enjoy every moment of hearing their stories of regret. Yep, sometimes, it is okay to be messy. Lol's), and Resolved my concern. Okay, please be patient I am fixing to let you know why Brenda from the Long Beach office is, "Legendary!" Geesh-Louise~Lol's These are the reasons; * Active Listener to understand why I was disappointed in how the situation was handled. *Communication- Calm, Kind, and Spoke Clearly. Because, she probably already knew I was a Senior Citizen, (I love the aging process you do get perks~ lmbo) . Personality~Legendary ~Engaged with positive energy. Brenda did not need a Starbuck's to perk herself up to be NiCe, (I'm just saying~ Lol's) * Professional~ Never Rude, (Some agents in the Highland office and I must agree are rude. Highland do be throwing you under the bus with rudeness and you find yourself crawling from under the bus alone), "Legendary, Starts from the top with the manager in the office. That is why they need Mr. Redmond back) or you can hire me for the front desk at the AAA office in Highland, CA. Highland would be back by popular demand with high ratings and reviews! Smile) *Empathy~ You could hear from Brenda in Long Beach, CA, Member Services, the tone of her voice confirmed she understood my frustration. It was obvious Brenda put herself in my shoes momentarily. *Integrity~ She really had a-lot of integrity as an Employee and AAA you really need to be Proud and to the CEO, I encourage you to go to the Long Beach office and personally thank Brenda. She is ONE reminder and reason why I have been with AAA for 37 years with this high insurance, (Oops did I slip and say that? Lol's) Brenda, you deserved to be recognized for your, "Legendary Member Services," and much love appreciation to You!! 37 Years and Counting!!!

    Worst most unprofessional service I've ever!!! Me and my grandma been waiting for her Car to be towed for six hours now and still no one texted us at 10:30 it is now 2 AM in the morning!!! ! Congratulations you just lost two premiere members

    Went earlier for some dmv services and got everything done in ten minutes and the associate was absolutely pleasant and helpful.

    Called at 4pm for a tow and its now 9:45pm and still waiting. With premiere membership this is what you get..dont get AAA service
