I really appreciate the time he spent inspecting the house and explaining what he found, especially since he didn't charge anything for the inspection. What really impressed me was that he didn't try to push me into buying a treatment or maintenance program. He gave me some options for preventative treatment, if I so desired, but didn't push me to have anything done. Just said to let him know if later I decided I was interested in doing something. These guys are horrible. They come frequently...even when we think we're in the clear. I mean I had my guys do some intel on them and clearly it was bad. I'm not paranoid but every time I show up with my friends, the pest people come out here. I need to get a wire tap and fire those responsible for my intel. Which, if I could just rant for a minute....Mark found my favorite entry way into the house today. It used to be through some windows but then they caulked the windows. My next best place was getting into the basement and navigating my way through some vents that lead into the home. It was quite the journey but so worth it! They ruined everything. They sprayed in the basement now and it would be suicide to go in there again. These pest guys are the worst, they even look for my nests on the outside of the house. Last year they took out my summer home under the deck. So, if you don't get yourself some pest guys, like this place, I'll be moving in with you real soon! They offered a free attic inspection -- and I later learned they also do free crawl space inspections. The technician, Chris, came out, went up into the attic, and came back down with several photos. When I asked him to email the pictures to me, he said he would. I've made that same request twice to the office since then, and I still don't have the photos. During the visit, he pointed to marks in the pictures and said they were "signs of pests." He also pointed out a tiny hole in the insulation, claiming it was pest-related -- though honestly, it was so small that only a bug could fit through. His recommendation was to remove all of the attic insulation, treat for pests, reinstall new insulation, and cover the outside vents -- for a total of just over $4,000. I haven't seen or heard any evidence of pests in my attic -- no scratching, no droppings, nothing. Yet I can't reach Chris, and the office still hasn't sent me his report or photos. So I'm left wondering: was Orkin being honest about an infestation, or did the technician just make a big claim and move on?
