Called to get some papers notarized. Was told to come in after 3 pm.there were 2 notaries who would be at lunch until then. We showed up at 3:10 and were told to wait they would be with us soon by the receptionist who was a very nice young lady. We waited for 40 minutes and were told that one of the notaries was busy with a client and the other was having lunch. We left because we were appalled by the lack of professionalism and courtesy. One of the most astoundingly bad service experiences I've ever had. I used them for roadside assistance and scheduling a battery replacement. I thought it sounded very convenient. They charged me for the service and told me someone would be by shortly. When the local partner called to tell me he was on his way for a jump, I confirmed, "you mean a battery change?" He stated, "No, we don't have that battery." This was confusing, you see, because AAA told me they did and charged me for it. So I canceled. I called AAA back, and went through the phone maze. They refunded me and I got my own battery and replaced it myself. Now, I am trying to cancel my membership and I have been through no fewer than six 10+ minute holds, landing in several voicemail boxes, been routed to the wrong state, and cannot get someone to help me. If I were ever in a roadside emergency, I think I would rather walk several miles for assistance before trying to navigate this company. Never, ever again. read more

Yesterday I received the shocking news that my current auto insurance was dropped through no fault of my own, the company no longer wants to handle autos in Florida. I was in quite a panic and had to do immediate research to find another auto insurance carrier. I first picked a local insurance company from the phonebook/online that was a broker. After speaking with them, they offered me their lowest option at 4X the rate I had been paying. So I went into the AAA office in Daytona Beach and was met by Heidi Hales - Walker. Thank goodness, she was very patient, kind and helped me sort through my mini crisis. It took some digging, but she was able to find me comparable insurance at the same price‼ Hallelujah ~ I am so relieved I am now fully covered! If I could leave less, I would . Car wouldn't start in a Walgreens parking lot. Was around 11:30 in the morning. Called AAA for a tow and was prompted to use text messaging to get the fastest response. Went through the lengthy process and got in a que. After 1/2 an hour of no response, we called AAA again. This time held out until we could talk to a rep. It's not an easy task. They assured us we were in the system and would let us know when to expect a response. After an additional hour of waiting and no response, we called a tow company and just took care of it ourselves. The truck was there in less than half an hour. We got the car towed to a shop and got a ride home. It's now 7:30 at night and guess who called. Yep, AAA. They have a truck that can meet us now! What a crock of shit. We will be canceling our membership in the morning. I suggest you do the same. Thanks for nothing, AAA. Way to take care of a customer. Not. read more

I called AAA on Friday because I had a flat tire and no donut/spare. After over an hour, I called to follow up. They said AAA would call to let me know when they would be coming. They held to their word but it was TWO DAYS LATER!!! Luckily my flat tire happened in a well lit parking lot and a friend was able to help me even though I was over 50 mi away from home. I have AAA for roadside service as well as car and home insurance. If their other insurance is like their roadside service and their customer service, I highly recommend you pass this company by. I went into the Daytona Beach office with my mom to renew her house and vehicle insurance. We had the pleasure of being serviced by Heidi Hales-Walker. She took the time to understand my parents' insurance needs and went through their policies with a fine-tooth comb to remove any unnecessary coverage, saving them more than $1K. I cannot recommend her highly enough....she even remembered us when we came in about a month later to cancel the policy on a vehicle we sold and gave mom and me hugs. read more

I was in Daytona Beach and I needed a jumpstart on a Sunday on my 2022 Kia. I called at 10:30 in the morning and made the request. The guy arrived at about 12:10 pm and we finally met at my car. I open the hood and he gave me a jump and I ran the car for a minute or two and he said cut the engine off and he would test the battery. He tested the battery with his phone and the starter pack. I asked what the voltage was and he would not say. He only said the battery was bad. He did not say that the battery was open or there was a bad cell. Before he arrived, the battery was completely dead and would not unlock with the remote. I am an electrical engineer (power systems) and knew if there was a weak cell in the battery it would show a voltage. He then tried to scam me into buying a new battery and then offered to get me a tow to the KIA dealer. I told him I would take it to the KIA dealer as it was under warranty, so just give me a jump and I would let it charge and drive it for a while. I told him I would call again on Monday if it did not start. I ran the car for about 45 minutes and then cut it off. It cranked quickly. I then took it to an Auto-Zone directly across the street and had the battery tested. Something has changed at AAA. It used to be completely reliable and extremely helpful. Called yesterday at 9:28 for a tow. Got updates every half hour saying that no one was available yet. At noon, the text service glitched out and I stopped receiving updates. After repeated calls to unhelpful people and AI's, I had to cancel at 4:45 and call a local company for a tow before closing time. No one would answer even the most simple question (which is particularly frustrating after twenty minutes on hold). AAA used to be totally reliable and has bailed me out of several bad spots in the past. I understand there are now some alternatives and I plan to explore them. This is not the AAA I joined decades ago. THey keep trying to sell me life insurance, when they used to be more concerned with keeping people alive. read more

I would give no stars if I could. I broke down in Osteen yesterday, called for a tow. At 6:30 I was told 30 min to 2 hours wait time. I received a couple automated calls saying I was in the queue. At 8:30 this morning AAA called to see if I still needed my car towed. They let me sit for 14 hours without so much as a courtesy call to say they couldn't make it out to me. I was traveling and spent the night in a closed gas station parking lot! They offered me $20 in AAA cash and suggested I use it to renew my membership next year!! This was my first and last experience with them as I told them to keep their 20 bucks and cancel my membership. AAA.....what a joke! read more

I have been a AAA member for 16 years. I called for battery service early this morning and was given a service window of 8:30 am - 10:30 am. When no one showed up by 11:30, I called to check the status. I called again at 12:30. Later I received a message that someone would arrive around 3:00 pm. I received a call from Zach at Station 8055 in Daytona that he would be arriving soon. He was apologetic and knowledgeable. Zach was more than helpful with information about the problem I was experiencing and helped get the truck moved from the street to the driveway when it became obvious that the problem was outside his scope. He was just great and the only bright spot in this experience. Zach got the 5 stars! read more

I've been a loyal AAA Gold Member for 7 years, and I have almost always had excellent service. Until today. Long story short, I just got out of the hospital and I needed a battery jump due to accidentally leaving my headlights on while in a local pharmacy getting my prescriptions. Piece of cake, right? Wrong. While the phone service was once again excellent, the person they sent to help me was a scam artist. I now regret that I did not get his name, but he came in a AAA marked pickup truck. He proceeded to try to sell me a new battery, which I declined, and asked for a quick jump instead. He then used a portable charger that would not work. He told me that it was because my battery was bad, and it wouldn't hold a charge anymore. I told him the only reason my battery died was because I had accidentally left my headlights on. He then repeatedly stated that I didn't know why my battery died. I corrected him each time stating that of course I knew why, and he would ignore me and again state that I didn't know why my battery died. During this time he was charging the portable charger with his own battery. Maybe he thought that I wouldn't notice? He once again used the portable charger on my car once it was properly charged, and miraculously my no good battery started without issue. Even after my car started he still tried selling me a new battery. I get that they need to make commissions, but maybe I would have been more inclined to buy one had he not tried to scam me in the first place. If this is now the way AAA is going to treat loyal customers, I may have to take my business elsewhere. read more

I've been A member for over 10 years, and always had very good service when needed. Today was exceptional, my battery went dead and I needed a new battery. Brian came to the rescue, he was very knowledgeable and did everything the way it was supposed to be. I really like when things get done right. These guys work very hard and I hope they are compensated for the good work they do.
