I was looking for a way to get to Valle Nevado for a day of snowboarding and loved the fact that…read moreSki Total not only offered bus rides up to the slopes, but also handled the equipment rental.
I arrived early at 7am to buy my ticket and rent my gear. The snowboarding gear they rented was horrible, so if you're looking for more premium stuff, you'd be better off renting directly on the mountain at the ski shop. On the plus, they did rent pants and a jacket, which in my experience is outside of the standard ski/snowboard rental options.
There was a really long line to buy the bus ticket and they only had 1 (sometimes 2) employees handling the exchange. By the time it was all said and done, I met my group at the mountaintop close to noon. What I did like about Ski Total is the buses. I got a comfortable seat by the window and the bus wasn't large, but just big enough to fit about 12-15 people.
The ride up was fine, but on the ride down, I got terrible altitude sickness (not Ski Total's fault!). Next time I'd take some aspirin as the ride down can be pretty brutal with all the slow, jerky twists and turns down the mountain. I would use Ski Total again, but only if I had my own gear and had a bus ticket in advance so I could leave on the earliest ride out.
