I still remember what it was like to sit in this class a handful of years ago, and from the looks…read moreof the other meager reviews on this site, the experience has not changed. in fact, the single reason I am writing this review so long after the fact is because john rinko's name is the only one i consistently google every few years to check if the racist old loser has finally died yet. No luck so far. like, i said, i vividly remember so many horrible things this man said and did under the guise of "driving instruction." i was 18 years old and didnt say a word the whole class because i was so enraged. heres a small list, in no particular order: - a japanese woman walks in before the class officially starts. he stops what he's doing, points at her, and says, "let me guess! chinese?" when she, obviously stunned, politely corrects him (with a level of patience currently unparalleled in human history), he immediately starts going off on a rant about PEARL HARBOR. - there was also a pretty large woman in attendance that night. rinko loudly asked her if she wanted TWO CHAIRS. when she said no, he asked AGAIN and went off about how much of a "nice guy" he is, and how any woman is desperate for a guy like him. -this was in like january 2017 so he also went on an impromptu rant about how "the People voted trump" (the people did not vote trump. trump lost the popular vote.) the class has not even started yet, by the way. here's what he had to say about women: -he points to every man in the room (including me) (i am not a man) (well, i wasnt at the time) (anyway) he points to every man in the room, including me, and then he says "you all have one weakness when it comes to driving." and then he puts to every woman in the room (except the fat one. i was paying attention). he proceeds to spend a solid thirty-seconds mimicking an awestruck man staring out the window at, presumably, all the hotshot babes you find wandering the streets of rural upstate new york before getting into a violent crash, and then acts like this is the height of wisdom when it comes to teaching students how not to be distracted while driving -he said women had better not get into car crashes, because then they'll "never get a date again" -followed by him showing the infamous "women drivers" youtube clip -he described in graphic detail how facial injuries from windshield glass make women unattractive thirty years later, when those five hours finally came to an end, John Rinko proudly spent a good few minutes demonstrating his use of legible cursive writing when telling us how to do our signatures. He became vastly offended if anyone insinuated that he was maybe Polish instead of Russian. (I'm a quarter Polish and have to wonder just what's so wrong about that.) He took great pride in making sure that we all knew his name. So I will make sure to use it when I call John Rinko an extremely horrible man, and an even worse driving instructor. Also he sounded like patchy the pirate when he got worked up and i will keep googling his name every few years until i get to see the news article i long for

Like the song, "Where do I begin??"…read more Our experience with Pete and Karen has been beyond complete. Anyone who's read my blather on social media knows that I'm both verbose and intensely interested in many things, not the least of which is how someone treats others. From the very start, Pete and Karen have responded to my many questions and concerns regarding our competent and skilled treatment of our eventual (and that's another story, as I used to row a very skinny boat) purchase of a *used* (translation: low profit - but, read on) Alden 18. That boat was as described: A small ding on the nose, of no consequence to structure, and brand-new, factory-wrapped Oarmasters (the sliding seat and riggers drop-in units) and carbon fiber hatchet sculling oars, delivered competently (I say with some knowledge, as I helped the manufacturer of my then-owned-double-and-single sculls do a couple of springs' worth of deliveries to the east-of-Mississippi US, coast and environs, teaching folks how to do sliding seat rowing). That said, I no doubt was a challenging customer, as I pestered them with incessant questions as the evolution of our eventual storage in our boathouse, and on the configuration of the launch-retrieve platform my son and I built evolved. AND, they didn't ask for payment until the spring deliveries could be scheduled (the delivery folks were already booked for January, when the deal was struck verbally). But back to my questions: Every time, they were happily answered, in detail, including two lengthy phone conversations with Pete - one early on, and just today, what (probably they and I both hope will be the last!) will be the culmination of their insanely patient customer support. There's no 10-star rating available, or I'd use it. If you're in the market for a sliding seat rowing boat of any stripe, maker and competence level, there's no way I can adequately convey my joy at working with them. But suffice (at last!! you say ) to say, they're a joy to work with.

Very personable and helpful. Guided me through purchase of the perfect shell. And gave me a series…read moreof lessons so I could get maximum usage from it.
