I want to share my recent experience, which was not only disappointing but incredibly stressful…read moreduring an already emotional time. From the beginning, it was difficult just trying to get in touch with someone. Most of my calls went unanswered, and when I finally did speak with someone, I was met with conflicting information. One person told me I needed proof or confirmation of pregnancy, while another said I needed a referral. Which is it? The lack of consistency was frustrating and confusing. I submitted clear documentation confirming my pregnancy -- paperwork that explicitly stated it, and I even had it faxed directly from the referring practice. Still, one nurse claimed it wasn't proof, which is baffling. I didn't make up the letter. Then I was told my labs weren't sufficient either, even though they clearly showed my HCG levels and included the other practice's information. All of this back-and-forth over the course of a week took a serious toll on me. For a woman who is already anxious about her pregnancy, this kind of disorganized and dismissive treatment is unacceptable. By the end of the week, I told the last person I spoke with that this felt like a sign not to trust this practice. Something clearly wasn't aligning -- it should never be this difficult to receive care. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously. No one should be made to feel this way when trying to access healthcare, especially at such a vulnerable time.
