Unprofessional and avoid at all cost.
We are a stone countertop fabricator/installer in Chatt. We had to have 3 large pieces of stone lifted up to upper story at a job site. The HVAC contractor had hired Tomahawk to lift HVAC units on top of the building. Tomahawk said they would lift our materials up afterwards for a fee. We agreed since they were already there.
They were rigging up to the straps on our Aframe containing these slabs, the operator dropped down suddenly and chipped the edge of the stone while his other employee was hooking up.
The customer agreed to allow us to cut off 1" to remove the chip. We had to bring all 3 large pieces back to the shop to cut and polish.
The owner (Gary) said he would NOT pay $2000 to have to cut these pieces cut. I informed him if we had to recut entire job, it would be $28k. Although, He agreed to bring the crane at no fee after we recut. Basically, admitting fault. I tried to call him several times and he wouldn't answer my calls. I had to call his office and he finally texted saying he wouldn't pay. read more
