Booked a bicycle tour last Saturday for Sunday morning at 1000. But I have to applaud Emerald Coast Tours for coming through. Clay was our tour guide, called me Sunday morning to make arrangements of who was pulling the wee bike and who was going to get the front baby seat for the 1 year old. Overall, my daughter couldn't stop talking about it, kept talking about why Andrew Jackson has no legs and arms, haha. We did the one hour tour, just to see how my 1 year old would take it. He is a fan. Clay had a lot of good information throughout the tour. Thanks. Will be coming back soon. As you enter, there are four Blue Angels Jets in formation suspended from the ceiling. As with most Visitor Information Centers, there are restrooms, brochures, and places to sit and relax. It is right on the Pensacola Bay. This is a good place to stop in before heading across the Pensacola Bay Bridge to Gulf Breeze or Pensacola Beach and beyond. There is a sidewalk along the water's edge. It was closed in Aug. of 2022 due to damage from Hurricane Sally. I would definitely recommend coming in and picking up some brochures!

The crew pretty much promised us that we would spot dolphins but wasn't sure if they would put on a show for us since they had been pretty quiet on their earlier run. They were able to locate a small pod of them and with both boats running side by side create a wake for a momma, baby and a third dolphin to play between the boats! The dolphins were within 5-10 ft of the boat so it made for great video and pictures! On a side note, sometimes God places you in the right place at the right time. A sweet momma ventured alone with her special needs little guy and I immediately knew why we were on the same boat together. As I introduced myself before boarding, her face softened and she thanked me profusely for "having her back and anything she needed." My new little friend only needed assistance exiting the boat and ensuring he didn't jump into the water off the boardwalk but, his momma and I needed the connection that a company like Surf's Up provided! Well done, Surf's Up on having an inclusive, open door policy and for offering such an incredible experience at an affordable, family friendly price point! We loved our adventure and will certainly be back if we're in the area again!

Obviously, visitors generally must have a valid military identification card to get on the Naval base. Since we are a retired military family, we visit the NAS Pensacola base in Pensacola, Florida two-three times a year. All of the facilities are highly maintained and the base is always very clean. Alot open space to exercise, enjoy the outdoor activities and beaches are private, military only. If your staying on base, it's a great value, clean and you have access to all this privacy. Before my mom died her favorite story to tell was a story about me, at this Florida welcome center, when I was just 4 years old. One day we were traveling from my grandparents house in Louisiana (her parents home) back to our home, here in Pensacola. We lived here in Pirate'cola when I was a baby, my father was in the service here. Anyway, as the story goes, we were driving back from grandmas house about 2 and a half hours drive. Everyone wanted to stop for orange juice & I had to pee. I was 4 so orange juice was very important & I was very excited to get my orange juice. Anyway, back in those days I was a little majorette in Kindergarten. I was a very good baton twirler, had a snazzy little blue sequined one piece body suit & white cowboy boots that I wore on the field at the football game. Anyway, I was the smallest majorette with my tiny baton & tiny tiny little white cowboy boots. I was so adorable! I wore them to my grandmothers to show her how cute I was, obviously, and was still wearing my cute little white boots on the way home. So I waited & waited so excited to get my orange juice but it was taking longer than I expected to pull into the Florida Welcome Center. We pull in & I jumped out of the car, running to the bathroom to pee so I could go get my Orange Juice! But i didn't make it up the hill & peed in my little white boots. When my mom got up the hill to the entrance, I was barefoot sitting on the grass. She asked me where are your little white boots & I pointed at the trash can. lol After I peed in my little white boots, I obviously did not need them anymore. duh. Anyway, I did get my orange juice & a new pair of little white boots the next week as I was taught to never litter. Till this very day, every time I come into Pensacola & see that big Florida Welcome sign, I always remember how much I love Florida, my memories of my mother, her exquisitely untarnished love for me & the smell of fresh new white cowboy boots. What we got was honestly one of the coolest experiences we have ever done. Our guide was amazing and incredibly knowledgeable about Pensacola's history, but the part that really blew our minds was when activity started happening during the tour. I'm normally a huge skeptic when it comes to paranormal stuff, but a few things happened that we honestly could not explain. Not going to lie, it freaked us out a little bit, but in the best way possible. The stories were fascinating, the history was real, and the atmosphere of walking through downtown Pensacola at night made everything feel so immersive. Even if you are skeptical like me, it is still completely worth doing. If you want something unique, fun, a little spooky, and very memorable, Pensacola History and Hauntings is absolutely worth every cent. We will definitely be bringing friends next time.
