It was supremely delicious and made for a great combination of flavors. Companion had filet and was extremely pleased with it. Appetizer portion was designed to be individual, but we split a crab cake, which was acceptable but not as delicious as any I've had in Baltimore. Excellent spot for romantic indulgence or a milestone family celebration. They were able to seat us on Christmas Eve though we didn't have a reservation. It was busy, but the restaurant seating area is quite large, extending across multiple rooms. Decor is very tasteful and traditional, with white linens atop round cafe tables, small oil lamps next to the salt and pepper, and placid landscapes on the wall. Might be too dim for some eyes to read the menu, but perfect for relaxing and focusing on the taste of the food. Attire ranged from polo and slacks to full suit for men, and night-out black dress to special occasion blazer and skirt for ladies. It would not be appropriate to wear a t-shirt or shorts, but I felt fine without a jacket, but in a formal vest. Be prepared to spend at least $50 per person, $80-$100 if you intend to have alcohol.

First, it was cold. Everyone at our table who ordered steak had it cooked a different temperature (no choice). One persons was almost raw. My husbands was so overcooked that it was like chewing on shoe leather. Completely dry. No one took more than a bite. The Fish Meuniére was actually decent. Not warm though. For the past two years no one ate the spinach. This year it was decent. The Potatoes au Gratin are always good. They need to have bigger portions of the potatoes. The highlight is always the custard as it is the only item everyone likes. Our table setup person couldn't count. It took 3 requests to have the right number of water glasses. She still shorted us a dessert. Our actual server did a great job. They need to do a better job of serving people hot food. No one likes their entree cold. Skip the beef - you cannot seem to get it right for a luncheon. The location is great and the event space very nice. But I wouldn't book here if it was up to me. We paid $125 for this lunch and never eat most of it. Always hungry afterwards. Alcohol is an additional cost.

This beauty is hard to miss, so keep your eyes peeled! There is no signage outside but on the glass doors of the establishment. As you enter the event space, there is a dreadful climb up a tall flight of stairs but do not fret, to the right there is an elevator for those who cannot climb or want to make the trek in heels! This space is capable of facilitating many events all under the same roof. The staff has always been very friendly and are willing to help. We have brought in dj's, balloon artists and so much more external vendors without a problem. The booze flowed and the food did not disappoint. We loved going out on our "private" Balcony overlooking the streets of the quarter and enjoying the festivities below. The bathrooms are clean and well equipped. Unfortunately, there is not a parking lot but in the quarter that's most likely not a thing. Many surrounding areas there's parking garages. I personally would take a ride service bc the drinks flow well here. Work smarter, not harder people!

Maybe it's just me but for such a big hall, there should be more bathrooms for use. It's a small complaint but after you have been drinking free beer for a while, a bathroom becomes #1 priority!

The Museum of Illusions is a great place. As the name implies, this business is based on illusion…read more What happens in all of the various exhibits they have within the museum is that you walk inside, you go into the exhibit, and it does something really strange, interesting, or curious. It's really a lot of fun! Housed within an inauspicious building, you've never really know it was inside, if you didn't know it was inside. Just look for the signs. But, once you find the location, and you go inside, it becomes a lot of fun. Though it is a fun place to visit, the one thing I will say about this museum is that you should really go on off hours. For example, when my wife and I just recently went there, we were basically the only people in the place. There was a family that walked through a little bit in front of us, but we never interacted with them. The reason I say this is because if there are a lot of people in this museum, as there can be, that is really going to block your flow, and your ability to have fun within each exhibit. Meaning, other people will interrupt you, or you may interrupt them. From this, you may feel like they're hurrying you out of the way, or you may feel like you are pushing them out of the way. Again, you should really try to go off hours if you truly wish to experience the overall fun this museum has to offer. Overall, if you're in New Orleans, and you have some time to kill, this is a fun place to go. You will get tons of great photographs of you and whomever you go with, and you will have a lot of fun in all the strangeness that goes on inside the walls of this space.

Looking around for this place, I went downstairs first. The first thing I noticed was the "NO REFUNDS" signage when I finally found this place. One staff member behind the counter. I paid for an Adult admission ticket ($28), however, they also offer Senior admission tickets ($26). Tickets are non refundable. I recommend visiting in a small group of 2-3. You'll need someone to take photos in a couple instances, as there are no iPhone stands available. The illusions and displays flow well. I walked from one room to another. There are instructions displayed at each illusion, so you know what you're supposed to do. I could see how the experience wouldn't have been enjoyable if there were more people here at the same time. There is the potential for bottlenecks. My favorite was the piano room. There's a piano on its side, sticking out of the wall. When you stand behind it, in the photo, it looks like you're upside down. It's definitely fun and educational for the kids.

Matthew and Phinnie were so incredibly helpful not just day-of but throughout the entire planning process. They even helped us coordinate having our ceremony at the cute Clouet Gardens directly across the street. The space was perfect for our size wedding (about 80 people) and they provided almost everything (tables, chairs, water coolers, bar carts, etc.) and had a full kitchen we were able to use. Matthew had sent us a blueprint of the Den as well as an inventory list ahead of time which was extremely helpful when figuring out exactly what else we needed and where everything should go. It also allowed us to keep our costs down. That being said, we were also very thankful they let us stock our own bar and did not require us to use their preferred caterer like most venues do. We were able to have the kegs on the back porch, the bar stocked with our favorite spirits and the pizza stacked ceiling high - just like we had hoped! Other things we were very happy with was the amount of street parking around this area. My dad was worried about this in particular and thought we would need to hire valet but we decided not to and we had no trouble whatsoever. Also because the venue is so charming, we didn't have to do very much decorating; again, keeping the costs down. They allowed us to hire an attendant (who kept the bathrooms stocked and picked up after guests, keeping the area clean throughout the night) and a bartender through them which was very convenient. We were glad they had SONOS speakers throughout the venue, as well as on the back porch, since we worked hard on our reception playlist and was able to play it off our iPad without having to source a PA system. It goes without saying that I would high recommend the Tigermen Den for any event - big or small!

Just this evening, my partner and I attempted to return home after a long gig day. However, our attempts were thwarted when driving down our street and we encountered cones at the intersection of Clouet and Dauphine. Seeing there was a crowd down the block, we rerouted and attempted to access our home via Royal and Louisa, but were stopped by a man with a white van who had blocked off the street. We convinced the man to move his van, stating we're residents of the block and needed to park and access our home. After encountering a line of city trashcans blocking Royal Street halfway down the block between Louisa and Clouet, we were able to safely navigate through a parting crowd, eventually making a left onto Clouet. IF the Tigerman Den had alerted residents who lived in close proximity to their venue of events and (unauthorized) street closures, this review may not have appeared on The Tigermen Yelp page. However, this is not the only infraction committed by the venue. Within the recent years, the Den has allowed cars to park too close to the intersection of Royal and Clouet streets, thus obstructing the view of both drivers and pedestrians. Our neighbors have contacted the Den via Instagram to alert the to the safety hazard presented with no avail. Having permits and official public safety personnel onsite for events like the one tonight are imperative to ensure the safety of attendees and residents. The Den ought to consider pursuing these legitimacies for future events.
