However, there is an online company called "The Blossom" that appears to be local but is not--and is a scam. If you are placing an order, make sure you are speaking directly with The Blossom Shop. While I have not yet used The Blossom Shop for an order, their customer service and communication have been excellent every time we have spoken.

I nearly gave up on finding a local place and was fortunate to discover Cherryland Floral & Gifts. On a Sunday, I ordered a bouquet online that was similar to the big-flower-box shops; the total price, with delivery, was approximately $10 cheaper. On Monday morning, Markelle called me to ask if I was OK if she used a different vase than was in the photograph... It really impressed me that she took the time to discuss a change and the bouquet came out even better! The result was gorgeous and I'll definitely use Cherryland Floral again.

There's a leisurely atmosphere and a perfect location half way down the peninsula. My recommendation is to pack a lunch, drive all the way down the peninsula to the lighthouse, spend time on the beach and in the sandbar, then hit Old Mission Flowers on the way back. That being said, I've received enough roses to know they were already pretty opened which was a bummer since by mid week they were already starting to show age and wilt. For sure an expensive bouquet I think they should have lasted longer than a few days without having to change the water and trim them everyday. :( also the stems were cut odd so the arrangement was kind of misshapen but that very well could have been from the car ride (they weren't delivered). My family has used Teboe's exclusively my entire life and I've received beautiful artificial arrangements while in colleges (approx 9 years ago) and the most stunning bouquet of purple orchids you've ever seen while working in Troy (3-4 yrs ago?).
