But in the time it took to secure a permit and to negotiate with the city on a replacement tree, most companies had gotten way too busy to schedule the tree removal. I tried a string of independent contractors, most of whom didn't have a tree climber, weren't insured and didn't even have a team. On a whim, I reached out to several more companies and Community Tree Care responded. My mother had an excellent feeling about them. What is it they say-- always listen to your mom. Steven was honest, he said don't do the stump grinding or you will ruin your mom's lovely garden. He also said he would work on the opposite side of the fence -- the city street side -- to mitigate any risk to the garden. These were ideas and strategies we NEVER heard from the six or seven teams that had come out to look before. We were also taken aback and pleasantly so when he said he could schedule the work the very next day. So, after talking we sealed the deal and they arrived and made quick work of the tree. Furthermore, our tree was standing in a marble rock bed. They brought their own marble stones at no extra cost and covered the stump which they had levelled to the ground, creating the illusion that no tree was ever there, without the aid of stump grinding. We were astounded. This company does excellent work, and they ensure they do what's best for you not what will earn them a greater profit. It's nice to see companies that put integrity, hard work and excellent service together in one neat package still exist.

The major issue is Toronto Tree Removal not taking responsibility for the very sub optimal stump removal. When cleared the pile of stump mulch the edges of the tree were still a foot above the surrounding lawn. We asked to have the job completed. After a prolonged response from the company, the they said they would finish the job when they were in the area. Or as I think they meant -when we get around to it. over the following weeks, then months, aToronto Tree stopped taking my calls. on the first of July I got a call to say sometime could come right now. three months after first request to fix the problem. And no, I already had found a friendly reliable stumper and a great new Arborist Company by then. The value : Not great and a time waster.
