Aloha, They did an amazing job. It was well worth the money. The dancers arrived on time and it was a hectic day for me. I've been running around preparing everything for our engagement party. I swear everything that day seemed to go wrong (another person tried to take our advanced ordered roast pig, etc etc). Then the Polynesian dancers came to rescue by relaxing me and started the fun luau. They got the groom, uncles, dad to dance on stage as well as me, my mom, aunties, cousins to dance. It was so fun and it was truly a ONCE IN A LIFETIME experience that we will never forget. The family (old & young) still talk about it. The kids were shaking their bums all night long and running around. After the performances, they also didn't rush me at all. We had about 100 people at the party and everyone was able to take pictures. I would totally hire them again! Mahalo! read more

Okay yelpers, let me give you all the tasty tidbits on A Polynesian Performance and LokeAnna. First of all, LokeAnna provides two huge things; a hula and Tahitian performance that you can hire for an event that they will travel to, as well as hula/Tahitian workout classes based out of the tiny town of Ripon two nights a week. She also does a hula workshop based out of the San Jose area once a month. (So I guess that makes it three main things?) I am an incredibly lucky lady in that I stumbled upon LokeAnna and her hula/Tahitian workout classes in my hometown of Ripon...literally 3 minutes away from my house. I started up in September 2015, and I am loving every second of it. LokeAnna has transformed her garage into a dance studio, and it is quite cool. It's temperature controlled, has a bumping audio system, and she even provides shave ice after an especially intense session to cool down and talk story. I have ALWAYS loved Polynesian cultures, and wanted more than anything to learn the art of dance. And let me tell you, I am NOT a dancer, so this is a very new experience for me that I am embarking on in my late 30's. Sure, I am definitely sore after workouts and creak a bit more, but it really has provided a huge benefit for me in rehab. (Rehab, whaaaa?). Yep. Check it out...I had cancer and had to undergo two surgeries on my abdomen to remove a lot of stuff over the past two summers. (I'm keeping my fingers crossed to be surgery free this summer!). I remember in August 2015 my doctor pleading with me to be patient and that healing takes a long while. Then what do you know, I find LokeAnna and I am doing Tahitian hip shaking movements literally a month later in September. Granted, I probably should have said something, but LokeAnna was great in always showing her students the lower impact strategies if they needed them. I had a luau party yesterday for my husbands graduation. Lokeanna is the owner/instructor there and such a pleasure to work with. She gave me a "window" so that I could settle on a time that worked for us, to try to accommodate us and our times. I decided on an hours performance and changed the time about 3-4 weeks prior, which she accommodate with no fuss. On the day of the performance: everyone was nice and courteous. I had arranged for them to dance on the grass - but it was wet and they asked to use the porch instead so that they would not be tracking mud into the house during costume changes and they laid out towels as well, which was very considerate of them. As for the actual performances - wow!!!! Everyone was so very good and they really interacted with the guests. For a luau, they made the party. I wish the weather had been better, it started raining right as they were leaving, but as Lokeanna pointed out - it was the warm weather of the islands, with passing showers and everyone looked like they were having a great time, which they were. Was a wonderful experience! We have many fun pictures and many treasured moments. read more

Just had a tropical-themed bridal shower for my daughter yesterday and hired A Polynesian Performance for the entertainment and could not be happier that I did! It was a pleasant experience from start to finish. The mother/daughter dedication dance will be a treasured memory etched in my mind forever! It made me well up with tears and pride. I really love the class. I do not have any dance experience, but the class is for everyone: novice to expert, young and young at heart ;). Good work out with low impact on joints. I started dancing with Lokeanna last October. Previously, I had danced hula kahiko for several years with a different halau, but never hula auana or Tahitian. I love it and Lokeanna! She is passionate about both hula and Tahitian, and that makes her classes so great! She is serious and will push you to improve, but at the same time she is relaxed and encouraging. She also really focuses on conditioning us as dancers, and I feel that I've really improved my hula in just the six months that I've been dancing with her. New dancers are welcome and she encourages us all to try our best! read more

I have been dancing with a Polynesian Performance for about 5 years and to me, it's not just a class, they treat you like family. Every time you go into a class you're welcomed with such open arms and Lokeanna is a very well structured instructor and her passion for dance really shows in her teaching. She pushes the students to do their best and even further their skills in the craft and is always very encouraging and if you ask to be pushed in particular areas she pushes her in just the right way to help you better yourself. Every show she is always very excited to give the audience the best performance that she can and I feel the audience really feed off of her fantastic energy and gets very drawn into the dance as well. She captivates the audience with always some backstory with her dances and even likes to make it particularly special for a guest of honor.
