We hired Coastal Construction and Maintenance, LLC of Lucedale, MS to remodel our Master Bathroom…read more We had worked with them in the past and expected the same level of professionalism, but this time was different. What was estimated to be a 5 week job turned into a 12 week disaster where they missed more days than they worked, when they did work, they only worked 5-6 hour days and our home was a disaster for the entire 12 weeks. At week 3, they askedfor money to pay for gas and I paid them about 1/4 of the labor estimate. At week 6, I made the mistake of making another payment to what would total about 3/4 of the estimated total labor cost. In addition, at week 8, I paid for them to rent a trailer so that they could clean and haul off the mess that they had made in the yard from the demo of the bathroom. After week 9, they never returned, leaving our bathroom a total disaster and leaving all of their tools. They contacted us a couple of times with excuses as to why they could not make it, but eventually that communication stopped. At week 12, we let them go and started looking at other contractors to complete the job. The contractors that we met with were embarrassed by the state that Coastal Construction and Maintenance left the bathroom. It took us 3 weeks to clean up their mess and prepare the bathroom for the new contractors to come in and begin to finish the project. I will also end up spending in excess of $300 to replace the things that they broke in our bathroom simply because they did not cover our cabinets and sinks when demoing and mixing the mortar for the tiles. After starting, our new contractors also spent the better part of the first week undoing a lot of what CC&M had done because of their poor workmanship. After our new contractors started, I sent CC&M a message stating that I had placed all of their tools outside and that they were welcome to come pick them up as long as they would finish cleaning the yard. They came and picked up the tools but left the yard a complete mess. Their professionalism is poor, they didn't complete any of the work that they started, and at best their quality of work has diminished over the past 2 years because they no longer seem to care about the quality of what they deliver. I could never recommend Coastal Construction and Maintenance for any type of work, as they can't be trusted to complete the work that they start, their planning and organization is very poor, and they have no respect for your property.

BUT Sunday 4/16/23 They came to my house to repair a small hole in my roof and to dig a trench and paint a leak proof seal. They told me "They couldn't Sleep" if they Just did the double coat on the sealant and buried it wet. So they said they would be back the next day. I did pay them the whole amount an expenses for the whole job. Monday the 17th they texted and said they would be there tomorrow to finish ( 4/18) and asked if I would be home. I said Yes. On Tuesday the 18th at 12pm I texted and asked about when would they be here. He said he was waiting at Lowes for some materials and he would be here after they got it around 3pm. On Wednesday I messaged and they said they were at the hospital with their dad. Promised they would be here after he was stable. Which of course was fine I told them I would put them in my prayers. Friday I got a text that was intended for someone else after not hearing from them. I politely asked when they would be back . He said he just got home and would be here tomorrow (Saturday 4/21). On Saturday I messaged them and did not get a response. Also messaged on Sunday and Tuesday. Also called 2 times where i was sent straight to voicemail. SO as of now I have a job that has been paid in full for and they refuse to complete the work or even communicate with me. I am very understanding and they could give me a date 2 weeks out and that would be fine, if they showed. After meeting them I would have never thought they would do someone like this. But I guess u never know. MAKE SURE they complete the JOB before you pay them . Even today if they would contact me and complete this job or Give me a date where they actually show up. I would forgive and forget and remove this review. But as of now I do not want anyone else to get screwed out of their money like I have. Next call will be the Better Business Bureau. Please call me like an adult business owner and work this out. So you don't get a bad review and My house doesn't get ruined because u didn't finish what i contracted u to do.
