I didn't know about A Path 4 Paws until the day we actually went to visit and see some pups that were in need of their forever homes. We initially wanted to see one pup but since someone else had priority we saw another pup (her sibling in fact). We feel in love with Winnie straight away, and we decided she was coming home with us. Winnie has been a bundle of joy and made our home so much better. We lost our Boston Terrier a few years ago and it was a struggle to decide to have another dog in the home but we are so glad we adopted Winnie. A Path 4 Paws has a great system and it was very easy to see the pups in the kennel, have some time to see them and decide. I adopted my puppy from here. This place was awesome, they really care about the dogs and making sure it's the right fit. I filled out the application and they make you disclose if you have a dog currently, which I do. They told me to bring my old man ( my dog) to do a meet and greet with the puppy to see if they would both like each other and felt comfortable. Which obviously was a success. After that they do make you buy the next door food. To ensure your puppy stays within the same diet and not upset their belly. When filling out the last paperwork they do let you know that all of their dogs are microchipped and they're listed as the 3rd option on the contact list in case you don't answer they can go and pick the dog up for you. As well as you can put your dog on your will and if the two immediate people listed as caregivers can't take care of your dog they'll come and rescue not only the doggy you adopted from them but all of the dogs of the house if needed. Overall they where super nice, super helpful an informative. All of the dogs they had look super healthy, cute, and happy. Definitely will get my next addition from here. I'm very thankful for A Path 4 Paws. We lost our fur baby after 10 and a half years in December and the heartbreak was incredibly difficult for our family. We knew we wanted to adopt and give a great life to someone as soon as possible. A Path 4 Paws was the second place we visited and we were met by a team of dedicated volunteers who clearly want great fits for both the families and fur babies. I was impressed that there is paperwork to be completed, documentation provided and requirements to ensure success. Being a first time adopter, I was unaware of many important aspects of the process that consider existing animals, the sex of existing animals, landlord restrictions, spay requirements, etc. It was wonderful to work with such knowledgeable and skilled volunteers that take all aspects of the process into consideration. It's amazing to me to see good people volunteering their time to take care of others. They are all working very hard and deserve as much support as possible! We adopted our dog a month ago and experienced first hand how hard the volunteers are working at path 4 paws. The only thing I can say to the people that was so easy to give this place anything less the 5 star review is please don't judge people that are volunteering their own weekends and working so hard before you sacrifice your own time to help dogs as much as this guys are. I adopted my sweet girl from A Path 4 Paws and it was a great experience. I especially thought it was amazing that they let me foster her first for a week, to see if she really was a great fit. I have been all over the valley looking for a new member of my family. I saw Ben and it was love at first sight! I waited for 3 hours the other family to come back they never did. I watched how the volunteers kept the animals walked watered and treated. Kim was very good at getting the paperwork from the new pet owners and making sure the process was a success for all involved. I'm a firm believer in rescuing dogs and NOT buying dogs, so when I lost two of my older dogs in 2020 I was pretty heart broken. I took some time to grieve and then I was ready to add some spunk back in my life and adopt. I have a young son and I wanted a young dogs to be active and go to soccer games and keep up with our busy lifestyle. I hit the jackpot with our two. We went here on New Years Eve 12/31/22 to look for a dog to adopt. We needed a Dog that would get along with our older cat. The people there we wonderful and even though they were terrible busy they took there time let us meet several dogs and always checked to see if the dogs had been tested with cats previously. We ended up fostering to adbot a lab mix that is about 2 named Gus. They let us take Gus for a week then a week later we asked if we could extend because it was slow going with the Cat/Dog introduction and they said no problem. A week later we asked to extend again and again the answer was no problem but a few days later we decided we loved him to much and were going to adopt so we went in a finalized the adoption. We just adopted our second fur-baby from A Path For Paws Rescue and appreciate all they do to find good homes for good matches. We first adopted Hope, a very sweet and loving mixed breed (was told she's a shepherd mix and DNA showed just that as her dominant gene pool). Hope walked into our home and stole our hearts! Hope came to us well trained and well behaved, She's definitely in her forever home! We just adopted a 2 and a half month old hound mix puppy, he came to us as Miley's Mustafa , he now goes by Rascal, we love this little guy! We were told, although he's not house trained per say, he's doggy door trained and that has been proven to be spot on, we are amazed how he goes to the doggy door when he needs to go out, at first there were a few accidents until he learned where ours was located but as soon as he figured it out he has been perfect. We are amazed how intelligent Rascal is and so loving and eager to please us, like Hope he has also found his forever home! We had to go and get our lease to prove that we can have pets they made sure cali was put on hold. The paper work took some time but it's a lot going on all at one time. Cali was worth the wait. She is an amazing dog and my husband fell in love, we got to take her out for a walk around the store, she was a little depressed but friendly. We went to an A Path 4 Paws adoption event on 8/24/19 after seeing the dog Marky on their website. They said he was 2 years old and a stray. We had to bring our dog with us for meet and greet with Marky. We arrive about 9 am. It was chaotic in there with many people around, dogs in crates barking and since it is a store regular customers trying to shop. When we finally saw the dog they had no private space set aside for the meet and greet. We did our best by trying to walk around the store with the two dogs. We decided to adopt Marky. We paid th $200 fee plus we had to buy the dog tag and a bag of dog food. A few days later we called up VCA animal hospital to check Marky and the vet said that he was not 2 years old but 4 years old or older. We bought a crate and the following week we had to go to church. When we came back from church within 3 hours Marky had broken out of the crate, our garbage and food in cabinets was everywhere. He had urinated and defecated on the floor. Our resident dog was still in her crate. We realized that Marky had severe anxiety when left alone for any length of time. We secured the crate with a lock and the following week left for a shopping trip. Since the crate was a few feet from our covered lounge chair, Marky had managed to move the crate close enough to pull the cover into his crate chew it up and the arm of my lounge chair. We are a couple of weeks in and our daughters love the dog our dog is getting along most of the time until a fight breaks out between the dog's over a bone. Our dog come out with scratches down her face Marky nothing. A few days later another fight breaks out between the dogs but more intense and Marky bites our resident dog severe enough to bring her to the ER. We decided with heavy hearts to return Marky to the rescue because of the situation. Marky also does not like cats and we have 3 so we had to keep them in a separate room. When we talked to the owner Naomi on the Monday 9/30/19 following our decision. She said she was not around and wanted us to keep Marky in a crate until Saturday. That definitely was not going to happen so we had to bring dogs out of separate rooms in intervals to go to bathroom and to eat. This was difficult and emotional for our daughters. We called Naomi again and she told us to drop Marky off at the animal hospital on Wednesday. We did that and then asked about exchanging Marky for another dog in a couple of months as per contract. I was not saying anything about money because we knew the adoption fee was nonrefundable. She told us that since it was 10 days past the 30 days in contract of bringing back the dog that she would work with us. We asked what that meant and she said since she had to pay out for Marky to be boarded and she complained about our phone calls/texts with no empathy for our family's stress, disappointment and expense. She then told us we would have to pay towards another fee for another dog. I was very upset by this since not only were out the adoption fee of $200.00, the $250 at ER and the costs of our chewed up furniture. Before dropping off Marky Naomi wanted us to take photos and write a description to rehome him. This is what I wrote and sent to her: The Davis Family - Our experience with Marky We brought Marky to the VCA vet. The vet looked at his teeth and fur and said that he is closer to 4 years old. Marky is a loving dog. He likes to snuggle and follow his favorite person around the house. During his stay with us he was taught to give his paw and sit on command with treats. He is a good eater. We fed him twice a day, in the morning and in the evening including 1 or 2 treats during the day. He does have separation anxiety and must be in a secure crate when left alone. We advise that he doesn't get left alone for more than a few hours. He loves his bones and will hide them around the house. He enjoys walks and needs a good long walk at least once a day. When he was put him in the crate before we went out, we gave him a good walk before and a walk after returning home. He is very interested in people and is good with older children. He is good with other dogs except for when the other dog is overly dominant. Now when you go to the A Path 4 Paws website Marky is the featured pet and the description under our photo is: Marky is about 2 yrs old, weighing about 60 lbs. He is mostly EARS! He came in as a stray, more will be known about me soon. So they are deliberately leaving out information and lying about his age. read more

We first met her at one of their regular weekend adoption events at C-A-L Ranch, which is a much more pleasant location than many sad, prison like local shelters we visited. Naomi was very helpful and prompt answering questions prior to adoption regarding food, crate size, etc. You can tell Path 4 Paws cares a lot for their animals, has dedicated volunteers, and goes above and beyond with their adoptees. Nova was already spayed, received 1st set of shots, and microchipped. Their $300 adoption fee included 30 days free pet insurance, and a free vet visit within 2 weeks & $250 towards common puppy issues after that. Very happy with going through Path 4 Paws. read more

Went in to look at some dogs this afternoon. Seen one freaking out and wasn't allowed to calm her down. Found out that her and a male was brought in together and the lady that runs it separated them. The female was the one freaking out, she was in a smaller kennel, not with the male that she was with and use to being with him, not with her owners and put in a smaller room. Tried talkin to this rude lady and basically in so many words told Mom and I that we were idiots and didn't know what we were talking about and we don't know how to raise animals. I told her that we knew what we were doing and even fell in love with a dog that was there and she wouldn't let me get her then so you already have too many females so you have to get the male. Explain to her that five females at one time and never had any issues but still continued to argue with me. She thinks that she knows what she is doing and truly doesn't. I even told her that my sister works at a vet hospital and would tell her the exact same thing that I just did and that the dog is scared and could calm her down with ease as well along with agreeing that having more than 2 females would be fine. It is all based on what you do and how you work with the dogs. But she just wouldn't listen to my concerns and has zero respect and care for the dogs like she claims. read more

My family of 3 is looking for a good emotional support companion and are looking for a young dog/puppy since we have a 2 year old and don't want to take the chances of a dog not being good with children despite first impressions. After applying for one, I received an email from them telling me the puppy we wanted had been claimed. Fine by me. So I email back to ask about another puppy listed on the site. The person (I am assuming the owner) writes back to say that there is 1 puppy left but that my apartment complex has restricted the breed based off of a post from my complex website. I explain to her we plan on having it ESA certified so the restrictions won't matter and she tells me as soon as I send over my ESA letter we can make an appointment for the remaining puppy. I do so within the same night. No response so I email the following day to remind them. They don't respond all day and then decide to email back saying that the dog was claimed at their appointment. The appointment that should have been mine had they not been discriminating against me for whatever petty reason. This business is clearly extremely unprofessional and do not care to look into a family before denying them. I wonder how many dogs were taken into bad homes because their application looked good. read more

It's so unbelievable what happened when we went there today. Suffice it to say that the woman who runs this place has some kind of complex where she thinks she knows everything about everything and all the volunteers better exercise zero judgment. We couldn't even foster a dog who was older, just got saved from the kill shelter and was sweet and shy because "in her experience we never send a female dog home with a home with another female dog". Um, there's sooooo much more I can say but believe me, they're only adopting to people who lie to them and say there are no kids, no other dogs and only one or two adults in a house that they own. Now mind you, they don't go check. Worst most upsetting experience ever with a shelter. Don't bother with this cult of personality. read more

Great organization who really cares about their dogs. Completely volunteer run and depends on donations. Naomi drives a long distance to bring the dogs to and from adoptions every Sat & Sun. Somehow she remembers every dog by name and can tell you their story, and it's obvious seeing the dogs interact with her how much they love her. That said a lot to me. We adopted from them and now we also volunteer and foster. While fostering we have seen even more of the dedication of not only Naomi but the volunteers as well. We have seen them deal with some particularly difficult potential adopters and I think it was handled very well considering how busy they were. Now knowing how difficult it can be to be a part of a rescue group like this, I have a lot more respect for them.
