This place is so f*cking cute! I pass it every time I head back to school from home and always wanted to stop in. Finally, I did!! Boy, am I glad I finally did, too I wanted plants for my room but had NO idea what to get or how to care for them. The man who owns this place was so helpful and the variety of options they have are unmatched. I kinda don't even want to post this review because I feel like it's Ithaca's best kept secret.. then again, this place was so beautiful & fun to explore, I need to share it with others! What a great little hidden gem. Open by chance or appointment, this plant enthusiast has a greenhouse attached to his cottage, and I'm in love with it! Greg has so many unique house plants, and many air plants! Everything was incredibly inexpensive and propagated by him personally. He knows all of the nuances of every plant he carries. This is hands down the best place to get houseplants in Ithaca! The prices are incredibly reasonable and the owner was very helpful. I asked him for his opinion on a low light hanging plant and he immediately gave me two options for plants to suit my needs. He told me how to care for them and even let me keep the hanger for them. Finally got an opportunity to visit this gem! The shop is ran by a sweet and knowledgeable couple. The nursery is filled with a large variety of airplants, orchids, and typical house plants. The owners recommend calling ahead of time to see if they're open because they don't hold normal business hours. read more

I've been going to this shop on occasion for around a year. It's very cute and there's a nice variety of plants. The owner will be honest about what conditions the plants need to live in and whether he recommends you buying them based on that. Very cheep prices for plants that he's clearly taken care of for a while. Average prices are around $5-15. There are a few bonsais for $15-30, and a TON of air plants. Fun to look around, and very fair if you're looking to buy. read more

The owner immediately berated me for not having come a day earlier when I had previously called and said I may stop by. I had a really bad experience with the owner, he was rude and argumentative over the phone. I work for a college and we were looking into getting some new plants for our greenhouse and when I asked their pricing and quantity of a certain plant he got angry and said he did not understand the question. He ended up saying he could not help me when I repeated the question he originally said he did not understand and then hung up on me. The owner is very nice, but not overbearingly so. Prices are good (*very* good compared to NYC prices), and all plants are well-cared for. There's a good variety of plants, but my dad especially enjoyed all the orchids. My parents and i were visiting to see the falls, so the owner gave us his well-worn map of the area and pointed out the falls we had to see. I cannot say enough good things about this greenhouse! Anyone who loves interesting houseplants should visit. The owner offered great advice on care for plants that I was unfamiliar with and was very pleasant to talk with. I plan to go back to visit him as much as to purchase more interesting plants. The orchids were beautiful and inspire me to grow some myself. The prices were ridiculously cheap. I left with two boxes of very healthy plants and spent about $25. One thing to note is that the hours are "by appintment or chance" so make sure to call ahead. This business is worth supporting! read more
