They showed up and instead of knocking on our door they sat in the street honking the horn for a few minutes. We told them to leave. Won't be using them. Note: According to Myra, the white van with red "NICK'S PAINTING" and white paint brush logo to the left of the writing and then a red fill-in portion behind the passenger side door with their exact phone number painted in white is in fact: AN IMPOSTER! Myra, you should have the police look into this imposter van driving around being rude to customers! Note: Myra recanted their comment and confirmed that, yes, these employees that were rude and disrespectful were in fact employed by them. Seems like they should keep better track of their vans and employees and interactions. Would highly recommend not using this company as they are extremely disorganized and don't know where their cars are, let alone what their cars look like.

# Promised Two Coats of Paint -- Disappointing Workmanship and Customer Service…read more I hired Harmony Painting to repaint the exterior of my home. One of the main reasons I chose this company was its written estimate, which specifically stated: "Exterior is 2 Coats sprayed in cross hatch technique unless specified." ## 1. Two-Coat Application Dispute **My biggest complaint is that I do not believe Harmony provided the two coats of paint I understood I was purchasing.** Harmony maintains that spraying in one direction and then immediately spraying in another direction, while the paint is still wet, constitutes two coats. I fundamentally disagree. I've never understood two coats of paint to mean two spray passes during one continuous application. From my research and conversations with other painters, I've understood two coats to mean applying the first coat, allowing the appropriate drying time, and then applying a second coat. **What I witnessed was one continuous, wet-on-wet application, not two separate applications as I expected.** I strongly encourage anyone considering Harmony Painting to clarify exactly what the company means by "two coats" before signing a contract. ## 2. Garage Foundation Left Unfinished **Harmony also left a significant section of my garage foundation unpainted, even though painting the foundation was specifically included in our signed contract.** Exposed concrete and peeling paint remained visible. We had previously discussed shrubs on another side of the house, and Bill specifically told me the crew would pull them back and paint around them. However, nobody from Harmony told me during the project that the shrubs near the garage foundation were an issue or that they would prevent that area from being painted. Only after I discovered the unfinished foundation did Harmony cite the contract's shrub-trimming provision as its reason for not painting that area. I subsequently cut back the shrubs, but Harmony declined to include the garage foundation in its scheduled corrective work. Instead, the company offered a $40 deduction from the outstanding balance, with an option to return in the spring for an additional charge. **In my opinion, the $40 deduction was ridiculous considering foundation painting was expressly included in the contract.** If the shrubs were preventing the work, I would have expected Harmony to communicate that during the project, especially since we had already discussed working around shrubs elsewhere on the property. I found the way Harmony handled this issue extremely disappointing. ## 3. Frustrating Customer Service Most of my dispute with Harmony centered on the two-coat application. We went back and forth extensively over what the contract required, and despite my repeated attempts to reach a resolution, we remained unable to agree. By the time the unfinished garage foundation became another point of disagreement, I was exhausted by the ongoing conflict and had lost confidence in the company. I no longer felt comfortable having Harmony return to my property to perform additional work. Ultimately, I decided that continuing the dispute wasn't worth the additional stress, time, or potential legal expenses. I paid the remaining balance and will make my own arrangements to address the unfinished foundation. For a project costing thousands of dollars, I expected better workmanship, communication, professionalism, and customer service. **My advice to prospective customers:** Make sure you clearly understand how the promised coats of paint will be applied, how landscaping will be handled, and what happens if portions of the work are left unfinished. **Based on my experience, I would not hire Harmony Painting again.**
