RJ B, you definitely should not go back to A J's Place. However, if one enjoys getting in the car for the drive and the sites (and not just the destination), to him, I recommend A J's Place highly. There is not just one theme but several. Just as one person may enjoy an athletic contest, a sea shore walk, and a mountain climb, A J Walker has much more to him than simply someone who crosses the street illegally. ------ As to the hair cut, I bring my curly hair to him in various stages of overgrowth; he consistently skillfully cuts it to the satisfaction of my (appropriately) exacting wife and compliments of my (casually) observing colleagues. I stopped in looking for a place in Dalton that accepts walk-ins. What I found was a great barber that was able to cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it. He was very friendly and we shared some good conversation and I enjoyed hearing about some of his experiences through 80+ years. I will definitely be back! read more

Sometimes you just hit that point where it's time to hang up the gloves. It might be that time. This was one of the most bizarre, creepy experiences of my life. The hair cut was also pretty bad. The barber was nice enough, but her simply burst into random hymns and random bible stories. It just didn't seem to go with the theme of the store. Just a very odd experience. Absolutely the best barber in the business. He is a great barber and deeply religious and don't hide that . He may sing or minister to you but I enjoy it and been going there for years. This is a great place to go and get a haircut. If you have not ever had the old barbershop experience, I highly recommend you give it a try. This doesn't have the rushed cut and get to the next person feel, he likes to talk to you and sing the older gospel songs on the radio. It is definitely an experience everyone should have! read more
