I transferred my policies to A.J.'s office some time ago. Best move. Sherril in the office is always helpful and very knowledgeable. She helped me better understand my policies and also saved me some money. read more

A.J. and team have been my go to for all my insurance needs , business and personal. I highly recommend them . If I need anything I get an immediate response. read more

I've dealt with the big insurance companies before. They might be a few bucks cheaper (or not!) but nothing compares with the level of service I get from AJ. I've called him on a Sunday when someone hit my car, I've texted him from the RV rental place to see if I'm covered, and he's sat in my home going through our life insurance options. Very responsive, extremely professional, but also a great guy who made the effort to know my family and provide a catered level of service that we need. No 1-800 numbers or being put on hold for hours. I'm very happy with AJ as our agent and would recommend him to anybody looking for a neighborly guy who knows how to take care of his clients. read more

I've been with Mr. Amstrup and his team since October, and I have had nothing but great service and unconditional respect. Currently as a grad student, I'm accruing about $250k+ in loans and debt. I wanted my loved ones to be covered in any unfortunate incidents, so I sought out a life insurance policy that I felt would best suit me. AJ Amstrup is one of the first insurance offices that popped up in the Tri-Valley, and although I was living in Solano county at the time, his team was the most responsive and understanding to my needs. I signed onto them with a life policy that reimburses me all my payments at the end of the contract term. I was a bit skeptical of this thinking most things in life aren't free, but they explained to me the process on how they would benefit from this (things involving bonds and investments that went over my head), and after a short discussion, I became fully confident that they were genuinely helping me with no catches. read more

Just got a call from somebody at AJ's office being very pushy about me going in to meet with AJ to go over my policy. I explained her that I'm pretty busy and if he can just send me an email with the info, and that I would be able to review anything online. She was extremely rude and condescending and told me that people who don't go meet personally are the ones who misinterpret their insurance. I explained her that I'm educated enough to understand how insurances work and it seemed to me that meeting up and her tone of disappointment was more as an opportunity to sell my more products rather than educate me. She hung up on me! I tried calling back but she probably saw my caller ID and didn't pick up. I'm in the process of buying a home in Pleasanton and I know who I will not use as my insurance agent anymore. Very disrespectful to customers. read more

I contacted AJ for help learning about life insurance just before my son was born. I knew nothing about it, other than that I wanted to be sure my kid wouldn't be totally broke if something happened to me or my husband. AJ was incredibly helpful - he met my husband and I for dinner and explained all about what kinds of life insurance are available, what's smart for us based on our age and income, and found us a policy that fits in our rather tight budget! He also, as a favor, looked at our car insurance, and pretty amazingly, was able to get us a better deal on that too - I'd been with Esurance for about 6 years, but AJ wrote us a better car insurance policy, that also included renters insurance and some medical coverage, for less than what we were paying Esurance. AJ is a great person to work with - funny, totally on top of his game, and really helpful! read more

I don't really write reviews unless it's about food, but I've been under A.J. and his team for almost 6 months, maybe even longer and their customer service is due for a review ;) As a college student working full time, I just recently started looking into 401k, stocks and life insurance. My job was able to do 2 of the 3 and A.J was able to help with the life insurance part. After searching for quite some time, this Statefarm was able to give me a great quote. A.J and his team would respond to every possible question I would have. Their team was great with communication and explaining things to the bone. And they processed everything so quickly I did not have to worry about a single thing. They even told me my rate went lower after my first 2 weeks. Overall I give this company and team a 10/10 because they have A1 customer service, they're flexible with anyone and everyone. Shoot if you can't read they'll probably read it for you! If you're looking for insurance, you should definitely check this location out. read more

If you want an insurance agent that will overcharge you for everything, AJ isn't your guy. If you want an insurance agent that will sell you policies you don't need, AJ isn't your guy. If you want an insurance agent that you can't ever get ahold of, AJ isn't your guy. However, if you want an honest insurance agent that'll get you the best prices available for policies you truly need, then AJ is your man. He is a personable, reasonable agent that will be in service to you, not the insurance company. I've never had a personal insurance agent before. Now that I do, I couldn't go back to an insurance service that can only be reached via a 1.800.xxx.xxxx number. read more

We just moved to California from Europe and we had to take a number of new insurance policies. AJ was really helpful figuring out what kind of insurance coverage we needed. He was really patient with us and took the time to explain all the details in a way we could easily understand. So if you are looking for a really helpful, honest and professional insurance agent, you cannot go wrong with AJ. read more

I had a wonderful experience with AJ. I purchased a new vehicle and my previous agent wouldn't return any of my emails to get me pricing so I had to turn elsewhere. AJ was super quick with the response, got me great pricing AND added on renter's insurance which I had been meaning to do but never got around to. He even worked with my company car program to get them all the information they needed (and multiple times because they kept misplacing it). I couldn't be happier to have such an attentive agent - I would recommend AJ to anyone! read more

I have a life insurance policy through AJ. I didn't really understand the different types or why I really needed life insurance but AJ did a great job at explaining both. He took the time to walk me through my different options and at the end of the process I felt very comfortable with my choice. He continues to provide great service and will definitely continue doing business with him. read more

Working with AJ reminds me of small town customer service, where you know your neighbors and see them every day, updated for the 21st century. What a refreshing change from the impersonal mega-corporations we have to deal with for almost everything else. Recently, my wife and I bought a house, and AJ and his office were the quickest and most helpful part of the process. We were able to get a homeowners insurance quote very quickly and then activating it took only an hour or so, with everything done by email or a quick phone call. AJ even took the initiative to help us save about $60 off the original quote. read more

I was fortunate enough to meet AJ when I first relocated to Pleasanton from San Diego. My renewal dates were up and I thought that I had no major reason to change insurance carriers (been with AAA So. Cal for years). After an enjoyable meeting and an informative education from AJ, I learned how essential it is to have a knowledgeable and reliable agent. Prices were very competitive and I finally have the umbrella policy I have been meaning to get for years! Thank you AJ, I know I am well covered for home, auto and umbrella. Now I have the peace of mind that if something goes wrong or if I have any questions, I have professional I can talk to directly. read more

AJ may have great prices ...but ask him about his errors and omissions rate. For those of you who don't know that lingo... It means if you are not told about or sold enough insurance for your financial circumstances and are in a at fault accident, you can be held personally liable for what the insurance company doesn't have to pay. The thousands of dollars you save yearly can end up going to personal defense attorneys if you are served. An honest agent will refuse to right you a policy if they know you are underinsured. A dishonest one will write you one and let you gamble will the odds you will never be in an at fault accident. From these prior reviews , I see a lot of people probably unknowingly putting their personal assets at stake because of AJ's great rates ! read more

I had to very quickly obtain auto insurance and a friend recommended AJ. Being in a customer service business myself, I really appreciate getting good customer service. Jade collected my information and was very reassuring - as I was in a panic - about getting me what I needed. She was efficient, professional and I felt like she was happy to help me. She made it happen and did it on a Friday afternoon before the Holiday. I have since moved all my other insurance to this office. I am very satisfied with my service from this office and would highly recommend them. read more

I didn't think it was possible to find better insurance rates than the ones I had through a different, purely Internet-based provider, however AJ was not only able to give me a better bottom line, but I ended up with better coverage as well. This is to say nothing of the very satisfying level of personal service with a real human on the other end, which was naturally missing completely with my last provider. Everyone should be lucky enough to get their insurance through someone like AJ. read more

AJ, took over our account over since my last agent retired. Before him Patricia was our agent and was fabulous. I had 3 cars, trailer and home insurance through State Farm. We purchased our new development home in East Dublin and I requested to get a quote, we got an email stating that State Farm was not going to insure us after 14 years of them collecting my money. We were are considered to be in a high risk fire area. Ok so that wasn't AJ's fault right? No It wasn't but the manner in which it was told to us. After 14 years of loyalty not even a phone call telling us why, we just get an email that we took as "sorry sucks for you". He then states in the email that he can still insure everything else. Yeah right, like I am really going to stay loyal. We had our house finished and moved all our policy's to AAA. Did we get a sorry to see you go phone call, heck no. AJ is your stereotypical insurance agent that you see in the movies, doesn't really care about your business because he always has someone else to take your place. Sucks I'm not a guy that likes to change unless necessary, it's crazy to me to think in 14 years they took 60k from me and could have quadrupled that in my life time, State Farm really makes some bone headed moves. read more

I had been with another insurance company for over 20 years. I called Jade and she came to my house and picked up the declaration pages for my 3 autos and homeowners insurance. She worked with AJ and not only matched my coverage but saved me quite a bit. The whole experience was quick and easy and very personable. I highly recommend using this agency and will be recommending them to friends and family. Thanks Jade! Keep up the great work, you have a very bright future in this industry. read more

The (thankfully) few times that I have needed to contact AJ for assistance on claims, he has been available, helpful, and calming. When I had a minor scrape in my car he helped me take care of the whole situation start to finish and severely helped reduce my stress levels at the accident. The exact same could be said when a tree fell in my back yard and took out part of my fence. I give AJ my gratitude and highest recommendation as an insurance agent. read more
