I hired Brian after some work he did while he was with Mr. Handyman. He did a good job so when he…read morewent out on his own, I hired him for a much bigger project where I was turning my 3,000 sqft house into and Air BnB. I'm not sure what happened to the guy that did the nice work at first. Everything he did after that first job was TERRIBLE! First, it's important to note that I was busy with other crews that were working on my house in different areas so I didn't have time to watch what he was doing. I thought I could trust him so I didn't check on him until the work was done...or should I say, when he told me it was done. BIG MISTAKE! First, he claimed he was a master roofer but not only did he make a small roof repair I paid him to do way worse than it was, I had to pay a roofing company to come in and clean up his mess and fix it properly. Then I paid him to paint the house on the outside. The painting he did was AWFUL. There was paint all over door knobs, dripped on the ground, and all over one section of roof. I asked him to replace the section of roof he had messed up so he did. He used a different color shingle. When the painting job was over, I found a bunch of paint cans and buckets in the garage that had barely been used. In short, he bought at least $500 worth of paint that didn't get used....Paint that he charged back to me. All the cans and buckets had been opened so I couldn't return them. Then there was the landscaping...I asked that he lay down some pavers to extend a walkway out to my backyard. Instead of buying the same color pavers, however, which were pink and square (very easy to find), he bought gray ones. It looks terrible. After he left, I found more problems like a folding closet door I asked him to fix. Not only did he not fix it, but he jammed the door up into the track so forcefully that it bent the track. I ended up having to replace all the hardware to get it to work properly. I asked him to hang two outside porch lights. He hung both of them UPSIDE DOWN so that the opening was facing up instead of down. I didn't notice this at first and by the time I did, it had rained. Fortunately, it didn't do any damage to the light. Of course, then I had to pay to get that fixed. He hung a ceiling fan so crooked that it would hardly work. So instead of letting me know that the ceiling fan was not properly equipped to be hung on a sloped ceiling, he just forced it into place...and even then it was still crooked. I asked him to paint all the exterior doors red on the outside. He painted them red on the outside AND on the inside. I made him go back and fix it but he would only paint one coat. The interior side of the doors were all white but with only one coat, you could still easily see the red through it. I had to go back and fix that myself. The list goes on. I would strongly recommend NOT using him for anything. I'm a single female and know that I'm vulnerable to guys like this because I don't really know much about the things I had hired him to do. He totally took advantage of me, grabbed the money and took off. STAY AWAY...STAY VERY FAR AWAY!!!
