A couple of years ago, we went to a wedding where Peter was the photographer. When the newly weds shared the wedding photos with us a month or so later, we were blown away. We loved the natural style of the photography, and the dance floor pictures were INSANE. Fast forward two years later, and it was our turn to get married. We absolutely did not shop around, we knew we wanted Peter to photograph our day. Peter is awesome, simply put. He arrived on our wedding day a good hour earlier than the start of the contract, just to walk around and snap shots of the premises. He was so visibly excited about the beauty of the location, you could just tell he was really having fun and was excited to snap some good shots. We caught Peter running around snapping candid and thoughtful shots. He seriously captured everything we would have wanted him to capture, and we never gave him any direction of what we wanted photographed! Of course, the dance floor pictures were incredible. As soon as I saw Peter's work, I knew I had found our wedding photographer. Peter was wonderful to work with as we were planning as well as on the actual day of our wedding. He was responsive to our questions and constraints. Peter provided many helpful recommendations based on his experience with weddings as well as his extensive knowledge of Sequoia National Park. We had some snafus on the day of our wedding that meant we did not proceed according to the schedule we had developed. Fortunately, the plan we created with Peter had enough leeway that it all still worked out well, overall. I was pretty stressed when my now husband and I arrived late to our own wedding ceremony (long story), but Peter went with the flow. He chose the location for our ceremony and photos at Sequoia National Park, and it was a truly special experience getting married among the sequoias with birds singing all around us. As impractical as it all was, I am very glad we took the leap and decided to have our wedding there. He also took photos at our reception in Exeter. Peter sent us a few photos the day after our wedding and the rest about five weeks later. They are truly incredible. He did an excellent job of capturing particularly emotional moments from our wedding day. My favorites include one where my husband and I are laughing together during (or right after?) our wedding ceremony and a photo of the flower girl and me sitting on the couch with our coordinated flower bouquets in the bridal suite. Peter got some great candid shots of guests during the reception as well as the posed group photos. I should also mention that he was unobtrusive--I barely noticed he was there for parts of the reception. He was gentle with his suggestions too, no matter how many times he had to remind my husband to take off his sunglasses. Where to begin??? My fiancé and I were planning a trip to explore some National Parks in California (we're from Virginia), and we decided we wanted to get our engagement photos taken at one of the parks. I searched for different photographers in the Sequoia and Yosemite area... I found several people, but nobody's photos came close to Peter's... Some close friends recommended Peter to my wife and me, which means we got the chance to meet Peter at their wedding before choosing him to do ours! He was very easy to get to know, and we had a blast with him on the dance floor that night at our friends' wedding, so we were more than happy to hire him to do our own wedding photos! We also did a bonus "adventure love story" with Peter as part of our photo package. I think most people use that to get engagement photos, but we used it to get some "pre-wedding" photos in our wedding clothes in Yosemite Valley. From the time my wife and I first spoke with Peter, it was clear he had a passion for family, photography and the outdoors; we were sold.
