I attempted to have three shirts completed for an extremely important Professor while visiting. Another failure by a minority business owner. I ordered the shirts and spent nearly an hour designing with employees, all of whom were extremely kind and welcoming. I paid an extra fee to have them ready by 9AM the next day. I chose that time in hopes of ensuring completion. I did not arrive to pickup until 2:30PM. My shirts were not up front as others when ready. An employee went to the back to check and returned saying, give us 20 minutes. Unbelievable. I asked why and was told the designers were not informed they were rush jobs. Disappointed I asked for a refund. I was refunded promptly. I asked to see the manager. The owner was there. I spoke to her and while fiercely apologizing she did so with one excuse after another instead of trying to keep a customer. $127 for three shirts was okay for her to lose. Mind you, not at any point was I offered a discount, nor was I looking for one- information for you, the reader. After a few back and forths I asked, ma'am do I have one shirt completed. No was her answer and I ended it there. This was not a blowup argument by either of us. Expressing my disappoint and how it diminishes my support for such a business I left, no incident. Others were present in the store and no scene was made. While driving out of town I called my cousin to inform her. Unbeknownst to me until my return to Shreveport my cousin told me she called the store and spoke with the owner asking her to complete the shirts and she would drive out of town to bring them to me. I LOVE HER! The 'owner' said, "no, I do not want to do any business with him. He cut up". Not surprising at all. As I stated above she had not attempted to offer me anything to keep my business while speaking to her. How a business owner could be so crude. I told her of the importance. How tomorrow is not promised and I don't know if/when I would return. My Professor was then and is now what I refer to him as- a Distinguished Gentleman. The shirts were for him, my roommate(we began college together as Freshmen and both attended his class), and myself. Such a disappointment and why I could not let this go without my two cents. Obviously, this is my experience alone. I am writing as a Yelp member and this is what the platform is designed for. I only make comments when it is the worst of the worst or best of the best. Not daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Only when I feel it is truly warranted. Any business owner or employee can have a bad day just as I can. Unfortunately, my experience with 'A Few Fine Things' made the qualifications of the worst of the worst experiences.
