With just enough French on our end and just enough English on theirs, we managed to make it work! The place looks like an ancient cellar with only one door in and out. The three course menu is the way to go. To be honest, I don't know or remember the names of what I ordered, but everything we ordered was great. For starters, we had a shrimp salad with what tasted like a mango chutney. And a plate with greens on it with what looked a deconstructed sausage. All of it: amazing! For mains, we had the durado on a bed of basil infused polenta and what probably was the steak frite, but called something else. Once again: amazing! But remember, their version of medium is more like a medium rare in the good ol' US of A. For dessert, we had a lavender creme brûlée (it was pretty epic) and an equally good chocolate soufflé. Long story short: this place is great and if all you can do is show up and point at things on the menu, you'll probably still end up having a great meal.

And the parking situation is beyond redemption, so plan on a hike up the hill to work up your appetite. And the (limited) wine selection is... "curious"? The house wines, in a decanter, run 10 euros for 500ml, which is fine, and the red is young and drinkable. But there's virtually no selection of bottled wines; surprising in this part of France. And if you want something with a few bubbles in it, you'll have to settle for lambrusco or nothing at all. We've been there twice now, and will likely go back when in Cagnes-sur-mer. But if you don't get the chance to experience Le Jimmy's, you shouldn't bear a ton of regret.

A word to the restaurant management; If you can't see fit to ban smoking from the restaurant, then at least keep it to cigarettes. After we had already spent a week in Belgium and a day in Monaco we were already exhausted. This beach spot belongs to the hotel that is just behind and across from the street is Hotel Le Negresco a beautiful old hotel. So we had a beautiful salad with chicken and frites with mayonnaise as the French do lol And of course we greatly enjoyed our delicious lunch and French Champagne while loving that spectacular view. They have big white chaise lounges and they give you towels and each with your own umbrellas, that these darling boys would adjust for us as the sun moved, I love love loved it all. We ate a beautiful lunch from La Plage the Restaurant it was delicious it was Champagne bliss! This is not free obviously you're paying for the food and bubbly considering it came to a little over $350 per couple for Lunch and a bottle of French Champagne and personal servers so we were there the entire day around 5 hours of heaven on a beach in Nice France. The most beautiful notion about eating in France is that, it becomes a lovely and grand affair. Of course, this is dependent on where you go. I remember going in one night at night 7pm and not leaving till a little past 10:30pm. Now, I expect to dine like a true French lady whenever I'm in France! The menu is quite simple, with entrees stated like le bœuf or le poulet. Each with it's own addition and style, don't let the basic names fool you. Le poulet came with one of my favorite types of rice (basmati), and has this specialty curry sauce on top that was très délicieuse! Don't forget about the appetizers; they offer a great selection. The wait staff is also very knowledgeable on which wine to have with what, so definitely express your interest to try or have your questions answered. It's a lovely restaurant, with outdoor seating as well. But on those chilly Spring days, you can see the view of the Mediterranean Sea if you sit near the big window panes.
