She really helped my son and I feel comfortable, but mainly my son which I appreciate!! Joshua Saxe the Dentist WOW, WOW. So appreciative of you. He walked us every step of the way during the intake. You really helped us make the best decision for our son. The work that was done was also very good!! So happy and will definitely be coming back. PS. This is very sad. We went there with my kids around July or august. I didn't know that the practice was sold to absolute dental . BEWARE parents!!!. Absolute dental just did a cleaning haphazardly only probably 10 minutes to clean my child's teeth. They used to be thorough. The doctor came out and said oh she needs 7 sealants and they will charge close to thousands of dollars for this if you add your copay and how much they will charge the insurance. You have to analyze your EOB. Terrible experience. Clinic became a milking cow.too scammy for me now. Dr Saxe did not use to do that. But ABSOLUTE DENTAL is a business . Poor quality. First of all, to all parents, please, if you've been here and work was not done on your child, immediately check with your insurance to see if they've charged them for false work. Our daughter was here due to some cavities, the doctor saw an issue with her tonsils and wanted us to have her checked by an ENT. (We did not know, but during this, they charged a cleaning that was not done.) We went and got everything done so she can be seen, our daughter had her tonsils removed. We make a new appointment and show up. Now, we let our daughter have one tsp of oatmeal because she ate too early the night before bed. Well we get turned away and they don't make another appointment till feb next year! The way they treated us due to our mistake was unacceptable and the care was not ok. What's worse, is they charged a filling that was not done!!! How do you charge our insurance for work that was not done?! We've gone to a better dentist office and they are the ones who notified us of these charges and as I write this, our daughter is getting her work done. I am currently on the phone with our insurance and with proof, we are dealing with these false charges on our account. We're speaking with our attorney also and will be seeing what other steps can be taken. read more

They keep changing the main doctor and canceling appointments without a reason plus asking to fill out new paperwork every appointment. Looking for a new dentist for my kids. The double team ladies Jay and Janice have treated my daughter and I with the most comfortable and understanding consultation visit and has helped so much with the understanding of having braces and flossing. Brought my oldest daughter here to be seen and I am just as pleased as I was with my initial experience with my other child. They are professional, organized and extremely helpful! After the amazing care my daughter received here, I couldn't wait to get my other children in to see Dr. Saxe. Because my oldest is a new patient, the earliest they could schedule her was in April. I called in to see if there was any way she could be seen sooner because I'm expecting a baby in April and they were able to get us in asap. I really appreciated that. They were also able to conveniently schedule my two children on the same day and time for their treatments. This dentist office has been a God send for my family. Dr. Michael Saxe has been our pediatric dentist for five years. We never miss our two visits a year. My children are never reluctant including the office visit for a filling. Although I was disappointed to have a child with a cavity, Dr. Saxe put us on a plan to remedy the situation and prevent other misfortunate events. He and all of the dental assistants provide a calm and stress free environment. Now, my son gets a cleaning every three months. We receive outstanding customer service for each transaction from Janice. I appreciate the reminder phone calls and emails to keep me on top of appointments. I understand people don't all think like I do, but I actually started crying while watching it. Birds have wings for a reason. I have been taking my kids to A Children's Dentist for 10 years. It recently was acquired by Absolute Dental and unfortunately the customer service is terrible. On our last visit I was charged an amount over what my insurance stated I should pay. I have been trying to receive my refund for 6 months. The front desk does not return calls nor does it take any responsibility in trying to assist me in getting a refund. Go elsewhere, this place is a headache to work with. read more

We have used A Children's Dentist for the last year and a half. After last week I will not be taking my child back to them. First, she was very uneasy about this appointment as she had been hit in the face with a ball a few weeks before and said her mouth was still hurting. I made the front office staff aware of this that she was complaining about it but there was no breakage of her teeth. Her mouth was very tender. I do not think this message was passed on to the back staff. She was told it that did not hurt that she needed to be a big girl! I explained what happened and all the person that was cleaning my daughters' teeth, said was its ok mom. She was told to hold still that it was pressure and did not hurt. IT IS HER MOUTH not theirs. When the dentist came in to check her teeth, he told her she needed to hold still so that they could clean her teeth that it did not hurt. Once again, I explained what had happened. He said she would need to hold still that it did not hurt. My daughter started to cry that it hurt, I said baby you got this. The dentist turned to me and said do not call her a baby she is a big girl. HE HAD NO RIGHT TO TELL ME WHAT I COULD CALL MY CHILD! This is a name I call her when she gets nervous even though she is 10 years old. If all this was not bad enough, he asked me to step out to the waiting room, I started to leave and for some reason I turned just as I was leaving the room only to see the dentist applying pursuer points to force her to open her mouth. That is when I said we were leaving there is NEVER a reason to use on a child. read more

I have taken my daughter to Dr. Saxe twice now and I am quite pleased with my experiences thus far. In fact this has been her only dentist since she is not even 2 yet. The first time I went was just after my daughter turned 1, as recommended by my pediatrician. I asked friends if they had any recommendations and was referred to A Children's Dentist. I am glad I was given good advice too! I called to set up my first appointment and it was quite easy. The lady I spoke with was helpful and friendly. When we arrived for the appointment, we were warmly greeted and promptly taken care of. My daughter enjoyed the waiting room as well, especially the birds up front. There is a lot of toys and games to play with and help get the kiddos relaxed and in a good mood before heading back. We were called back within 5 minutes of the appointment time. The nurse/dental tech (not sure what her title was), was really friendly and good with my daughter. The nurse explained how children's dental practices are different from adult services and let me know how this appointment would go, as well as future appointments as my daughter gets older. I appreciated the info and I think it helped my daughter get used to everything in the exam room as well before the doctor came in. Dr. Saxe arrived shortly afterwards and was so delightful. He explained how the exam would go and helped me get my daughter into the correct position to check her teeth. He was very calm and relaxing and my daughter really took to him. He did a great job. I wish my dentist was this friendly! So fast forward to today, and it was even easier this time around. My daughter seemed more comfortable and relaxed. She ran in right to the birds while I checked her in. When we were called back, she went willingly and was happy. Her exam went smoothly and came back as an A+ for dental health. Yeah for no cavities! The check out process is super easy as well. I also like how they let you make your next appointment right then and not have to worry about it for 6 months. The office staff that I have encountered have all been nice and friendly. I truly enjoy this dentist office. I wish they did adult exams too! read more

We love a children's dentist... They have a very friendly staff and they truly seem to cater to the child. They have an awesome waiting area that is huge! There are a variety of video games, tv's,board games and even magazines to entertain the children before their appointment. The bench seating is probably the most comfortable seating that I have ever seen in a waiting area. The exam room even has a very cool salt water fish tank for the kids to enjoy. The bottom line is that my girls don't seem bothered by coming here to see Dr. Saxe and have there teeth maintained. Isn't that the most important factor of all? read more

This place is the absolute worst dentist we've been to. They are not competent in their scheduling or communication. I called for an appointment for a cleaning for my 2 girls. When we showed up they had not scheduled a cleaning but just a screening which is not what was discussed when making the appointment. I had to return 3 hours later with my oldest for her cleaning and make an appointment for today for my youngest. So we show up today, they take payment and take her back. After when I went to get her they said they didn't even do the cleaning, just filled a cavity. Oh my gosh, I was upset. They did fit her in bow for her cleaning but we definitely didn't need to have all this stress or the incompetence. I do not reccomend this dentist to anyone. read more

I checked my mail and they sent me a reminder that my daughter was due for a check up, but yet they took their time to write and let me know they aren't able to see my daughter anymore. The staff is great and they have all worked well with my daughter. They are also honest with their billing, I have never had problems with scheduling appointments either. I was ecstatic to have found Dr. Saxe after a pretty awful experience at the first children's dentist I took my daughters to. They were friendly, organized and clean. I was uneasy about not being in the room with my kids after that last dentist... but Dr. Saxe sat with me and explained why they have that policy and allowed me to watch the cleaning by video. I believe we were there a year. I recommended them to anyone that asked and had zero complaints. After the last cleaning my youngest had, she needed a filling I believe. A day or two before her filling, I called the office to reschedule. My daughter had gotten pretty sick and had just started antibiotics. The front desk gal agreed that it was best to reschedule until after she was done with antibiotics. Well that day came... but not before my other daughter picked up her sisters bug. I was up with her most of the night before the filling for my other daughter was scheduled. In my exhaustion I slept right through my alarm and woke up in a panic 20 min before our appointment. I called the dentist immediately and tried to explain. But I was pretty quickly cut off and told that I couldn't reschedule and my daughter wouldn't be able to come back. I was in complete shock. She reminded me of the paper I signed about that particular policy. I didn't read it properly. I did not realize that my kid would essentially be kicked out. After I hung up the phone, I sat in my bed and cried. It didn't feel right or fair. I consider myself a pretty responsible and polite person. I honestly don't think I have ever just missed an appointment for my kids. If I need to reschedule, I do so in a timely manner.... I demonstrated that while we were patients there. In another review to the same time... the doctor responded and made it seem like they would have rescheduled if she had a good reason. That is certainly not true for my case. I wasn't even given the chance to explain or ask if we could be 15 min late.... since again, I called 20 min before we were scheduled. In the following weeks I called a few dentists in their area to see if this "one strike and you're out" policy was common and It sure wasn't. Also fun fact... we went to a new dentist pretty quickly because my daughter needed that filling.... well new dentist couldn't find any problems. She just had her second cleaning there (been at the new place a year) and still no fillings or anything else. Strange. And one last thing.... about 6 months after we were kicked out of a children's dentist.... they called me to remind me about my other daughters appointment. Note to staff.... It felt a little bit like salt in a wound. Lastly, I have a suspicion that that one strike policy is only for people on Medicaid or Nevada check up... like my family. I could be wrong... but I have a feeling I would have been treated a little differently had I had regular insurance. Maybe that policy helps weed out irresponsible parents.... and maybe they're willing to loose a few good ones in the process. I find that sad. Like I said at first... there is a lot of good there... but this event left such a foul taste in my mouth that I would never recommend them to anyone again. read more

I've been going to this place since my boys were little and trust me when i say i've been through it all with them overcharging, aggressive front staff, terrible everything despite it all i kept coming back and giving them chances. but the last time i had a scheduled appt for my sons cavity written on a paper provided by them. turns out she wrote the wrong time but refused to do anything about it but said she couldn't tell her dr. because she'd get in trouble so my kid lost a whole day of school and me work a couple hundred. but cool i'm suppose to eat that mistake ok. the staff have treated me horrible since my last complaint literally acting like i wanted to take them for every penny before they'd even touch my son i had to sign several papers saying i agreed to an amount. of course i would but it kept niggling in my head i have great insurance why do i keep paying so much, but hey anything for your kid so i just kept handing my card over and having to call my insurance when they couldn't bill me right and my insurance would tell me the proper codes to tell them again i shoulda ran then. but no so back to after this mistaken sedated appt. poor kid hasn't eaten hungry cranky upset missed school but nothing i could because of there staff i get in the car and look at my son and he's like i don't want to go back mom. i don't like them there always so frustrated and irritated with me when i go back. hmmm and i can't judge this because i'm never allowed back ever. soo i say you know what and i start calling new dentists and let me tell you i figured out it's just this place that's absolutely horrible and you should run not walk to a new dentist. so this new place immediately gets my son in because of his needed work and i was allowed back my son got x-rays he came back with a smile and goes mom she talked to me about everything she was so nice. i'm like what isn't that a normal thing to do for a kid. nope he said not once has he been talked to ok. so moving on to the exam part he goes everything talking to my kid also as well. i explained the last dentist made it clear he can't have work done unless he's sedated and he also needed a orthodontist appt immediately that was scheduled next day. he laughed and said absolutely not yes i see some "watch things" but not on a 8 year olds mouth would i deem it that severe. cancel that appt. ok i do. and then he's like i would like to try it without sedation i think he's just being a imaginative 8 year old boy when not talked to or anything and just got a bunch of scary things shoved in his mouth he's gonna get scared. they also weren't gonna have him wait like i always use to they would of got me in that afternoon but i couldn't so i came back the next week and we got there and let me tell you they let me come back they walked him through everything he sat there watching trolls like no one's business totally fine even when i saw him show a tooth pick to hunt saying he was gonna poke him with that little did he know it was a giant needle. and let me tell you over 3 times less then what this place charged me so many times over. and shocker they just called and my insurance really is that good that i've been saying they refunded me what i paid no problems no issues with my insurance supposedly not covering or being expensive. again i can keep going so many experiences and so much lost money. but i'm so glad that missed appt made my kid really talk to me and i listened. read more

Growing up, I always saw Dr. Saxes commercial on PBS. I always wanted to go since all of the children looked like they were having so much fun going to the dentist. My mother never wanted to take me to see the fun looking dentist on TV and as a little girl, I was completely bummed out! Fast forward to decade later and I finally got to see the fun dentist! Of course, I'm much too old now to be seen by Dr. Joshua Saxe but both my boys are seen by him. They've been patients for three years now. They both love Dr. Saxe and are always so excited to go to the dentist, he must be doing something right if children are thrilled to visit his office. There are many pediatric dentists to choose from in my neighborhood, but I'd rather take a longer drive, I know that my boys are always in good hands. The dental hygienists/assistants are very friendly, warm, and they make the children feel really comfortable, specially Sue! My oldest son always sees Susan and my youngest sees Sue. Dr. Saxe himself is very warm as well, he makes sure the children laugh and have a great experience when they're with him, plus, when they're done they get to pick out a prize from the toy box! The entire office is catered to children. The waiting room has two video game TV's, two regular TV's, with cartoons on both, and a few activity tables/wall. They also have a big bird in a cage but the children never look too interested in the bird.
