As a long time customer, I used to love coming here and sadly they changed. Staff is rude & unhelpful. Unfortunately I used to refer this place to people who had cats. Sure it was a trek but when it is great it is worth it but now that the new owners which they hide is corporate run vs independent like it used to be they are horrible. I even had the vet that my DOG goes to that knew this place had a reputation and he even said he's heard a LOT of complaints.... that says something about this place! Do NOT use this clinic!!! They overcharge and charge you for services that aren't rendered yet still want to charge you for them. Was told that they only did a partial service that I was quoted and instead was charged for the ENTIRE service & they refuse to refund!!! They are more about the $ vs care. They were more concerned about the time of day vs care for my cat. See they close at 5 the day I went in with my cat but they said the vet working with us leaves at 4 so we needed to make a decision. 1 person came in & said that our cat was VERY ill and the other was talking about home treatment plan and/or us taking the cat to an emergency hospital for overnight care before being sent home. WHICH is it? Conflicting stories. Of course when i question it , I get accused of having an attitude. Um Yeah because 1. You are doing the money grab, 2. You send in someone who doesn't introduce himself and says it's very grave situation 3. The vet working on my case comes in and in that conversation I'm told of the home treatment plan. 4. Next I'm told I need to make a decision by 4pm because despite there being 3 vets on duty at that time I'm told that the one I am assigned to leaves at 4 so we gotta decide quick. (30 minutes to decided to kill your cat) Not to mention the whole billing fiasco as well. Great at doing the bait & switch. I will never set foot in this place again, just know that they don't care about your pet they worry more about staffing because apparently they gotta leave at 4 despite their hours & less about pet patient care. read more

I had brought in my sick cat when I first saw signs that something was wrong. The staff were so incredibly amazing. I had asked the tech the explain my options 10 times they were so helpful. Kind. I was just scared the prices were great my first exam was free. I have been traumatized by other animal hospitals afraid I was going to be treated the same with no options for my cat but just to put her down. I'm grateful for the place. I've been taking my gorgeous tuxedo long hair to this business for an annual Lion Shave in June for years. First let me say they are VERY expensive! $400-$850 for a shave but if they are good, my boy deserves it. Well, they were good until they weren't! This business has been going downhill every year. And this was my last year! I will NEVER subject my sweet boy to this revolving staff again! When I picked him up after he'd been there all day he was wet! He had pooped in his carrier indicating he had been left in there for hours!! He was dirty as he had not been bathed! And the "Tech" admitted "I'm not a groomer"!!! Due to recent events I'm updating this as I'm baffled . Two months ago I took my cat for his annual check up. He got labs and everything done. Was told he was in perfect health. This last Sunday I had to put my cat down because his body was filling with fluid and compressing his lungs due to various possible cancers? How does a perfectly healthy cat die two months later? How was all this completely missed at all of his check ups? I will be asking these questions for the rest of my life because I am completely devastated. I can't grasp how this happened. And I'm positive I would have had more time with him if he wasn't put on aggressive steroids for a whole other issue that wasn't accurate according to another vet, forcing me to get a second opinion. Which then led to more tests and unnecessary trauma. Again not sure how a healthy cat can stop being able to breathe in a course of two months. I place the blame on both this vet and the second vet we took him to. Because things are not adding up. I was too traumatized to question it but now it's all too late and it's really not making sense. I would really like to request my $1400 back before I escalate this further. read more

After spinning almost $1000 on exam fees, bloodwork antibiotics, etc. at this location in a two day span Cat passed on 12/12/2024 at6:30pm 12/10/2024 My cat was not feeling well! I reported all the symptoms to the vet doctor! Was taken for a ride for a whole lot of money for x-rays and bloodwork, and anabiotic's close to $1000! While I was at home and my cats not doing well, I googled all the symptoms that I had reported to the doctor! Google results showed that the cat was dying and was not worth saving, but they took me for almost $1000 ride without telling me the truth! And when I called to see how much it was cost to put my cat down, they told me another 250 bucks and that does not include getting her ashes back! It's nice knowing that I'm taking advantage of when I could've just googled everything to begin with! If you're a veterinarian doctor, and I reported every symptom to you! You should be honest with the results of the outcome instead of trying to get me for money for bloodwork, x-rays, and everything! I know you gotta make a living, but this is not the way to do it! I was also promise bloodwork results were returned the next day by the a.m. hours, and that was also a lie! Office staff was very nice and polite, but I hate being lied to! I would recommend you Google everything before you visit any animal hospitals from here on! Ooh and a plus, this place only deals with cats! I do not recommend this place to any cat owners! My kitty spent 10 days at their cat hotel which is attached to the hospital. My issue with them is that I requested him to get an insulin/blood test 3 times while he spent 10 days there. They charged me around $300 for the stay plus $30 each for his insulin/blood test. When I asked the nurse(?) for the results of the tests, she couldn't find it anywhere in the notes. She went to get the doctor but the doctor couldn't find the results either. So I'm thinking that they charged me for the tests that was never done at all!!. They said they will get back to me later, but they never called. read more

I have been bringing my cats to A Cat Hospital since 2012. About a year ago, there was a complete overhaul of all veterinarians and staff (and I believe there are currently some rotating/visiting vets, but I am not 100% sure). The front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. Recently, one of my cats came down with a variety of health issues that required a lot of tests, medical intervention, and a hefty at-home "treatment" plan. Dr. St. Preux was wonderful through it all... explaining everything thoroughly and answering all my questions. I was even allowed to bring my cat one afternoon at the end of the day (without an appointment) when I saw how sick he was. I have seen some comments here about the cats being taken to the back for exams. I have never had a problem with that. First, my cats. have never looked or acted distraught, angry, or upset after being in the back. Second, I can understand how it can be easier for doctors to do things like collect urine samples and draw blood in the back area where they have the tools they need. Some things can get pricey, but that is the nature of the beast with veterinary care. I don't find A Cat Hospital's prices to be outrageously expensive to other vets I have been to in Seattle or New York City. read more

Rude staff. Rude vets. Stewart is about the most passive aggressive Vet I have ever dealt with. She's just not a happy person and seethes through her teeth when you talk to her. Staff is more concerned about themselves than customer satisfaction or customers needs. They are just always rude at the front desk. They have zero etiquette in how they speak. One time the dr gave me very sensitive information about my cat, openly, in the public waiting area in front of others. They just don't care here. At all. Trailwood is much better. Take your business where it's appreciated. Not where you feel like they are the customers and you have to walk on eggshells. read more

Updated Review -- We learned that our favorite vet was no longer in this practice, but we decided to bring one of our Ragdolls in for their updated upper respiratory shots. The wait seemed longer, which was fine -- it's not a big deal. We understand that the practice is getting busier and especially with possible employee shortage. The staff here always seem to not be as friendly though, but that's totally fine as well as I'm only here to make sure my cats are in tip top shape. We made an appt to update one of our cats' distemper vaccine because the facility called us to let us know he needed it updated. When we got there, they said it was a rabies vaccine that he needed, instead. It was so confusing. Later that day, they called us letting us know that they made a mistake and it was the upper respiratory that he actually needed, after all, and not the rabies vaccine. Mistake?! That's a major miscommunication! We try to avoid over-vaccinating our cats as much as possible and especially not putting them through shots that they absolutely do not need. This is definitely an experience I would not wish on anyone who really puts their cats' health above all. At least this scenario did not have detrimental effects to our cats' health, but I am not as confident anymore with this facility especially with a mix-up like this that could potentially affect your cats' overall health. The person in charge of ordering our cats' prescription food has been amazing, though! While I am sad that we no longer will be interacting with that person, I am overall devastated that I now have to say goodbye to A Cat Hospital and look for another facility that minimizes mistakes like this. read more

WONDERFUL! WOW! 100 stars! Friendly staff, reasonable rates, one stop for everything cats need! I wanted a safe, comfortable place for my senior cat to stay while I took a 12 day trip. He's never been out of my house or away from me, & I was nervous. I had seen the Cat Hospital when shopping at Trader Joe's & loved the idea of it being just for cats. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt their true love for cats. All of the staff were wonderful. The receptionist Gaby (sp) patiently answered my many questions. They had a wide variety of high quality foods on display, including the hard to find brand that my cat eats. The boarding is a reasonable price, and they have LIVE birds & an aquarium in the boarding area to entertain the cats. The staff plays with the cats as well. This place was like the Wynn for felines! I think my cat wanted to stay there forever! They also accept Care Credit. This is my new vet! Go here & you and your kitty will LOVE it! read more

Highly recommend! My orange tabby was comfortable and well taken care of. I met with dr. trish, who was knowledgeable, professional and personable. My cat really liked her! I came in for a sedative for an airport ride. Dr. Trish was knowledgeable about how the sedative was discovered and the history, recommended dosage and presented different options on how to go about using the medicine. As someone who prefer holistic medicine, it was helpful to have someone who gave such good advice. I also worked with two front desk receptionists, who were friendly - one was iris who referred me, so s/o to her! I also got a follow-up call the next day, which was nice to be able to talk about the effects and additional advice for my plane ride with my cat. Overall, great ! read more

I have been taking my kitties to A Cat Hospital since 2018 and have never had an issue. Everyone was always super friendly and helpful. They even stayed late when I had to put one of my cats down in the middle of Covid lockdown since she probably wouldn't make it through the night. Fast forward to last week. One of my older cats stopped eating over the weekend and I had a feeling that it was probably time for her to go but she was acting like she wanted to eat and she was still being active so I didn't want to put her to sleep in case she may have just had a tooth ache or something else going on. I called and I was able to get in that afternoon. Everything was going well until they took her to the back and the vet, Brittney Villagran, came in all in a huff. Her first words to me were "your cat is in bad shape" She proceeded to scold me basically telling me that it was my fault that my cat was sick. Extremely rude and dismissive. She wanted me to put my cat down right then and there. I just wanted to try one last thing just in case she was just under the weather. If she truly felt that was the best thing for my cat then she should have had some compassion and talk to me instead of down to me. I was able to get some meds but they ultimately didn't work, and I ended up putting my cat to sleep the next day. All I wanted was to know that I did everything I could before I made the final decision to end her life. This vet made an already stressful situation a lot worse with her shit attitude and horrible bedside manner. I hope that I do not have to take any of my remaining cats here for a long while. It pains me to write this review. But I feel that's it necessary because A Cat Hospital has had a long history of loyal cat owners, like myself. I've taken all of my cats to A Cat Hospital for 20 years. The owner and vets who once served this place are all gone. The original friendly, caring, and receptive front-office staff are also all gone. Very bad sign. -I was told that the owners and vets all retired and that A Cat Hospital was sold to a corporate-chain buyer. The difference has been staggering. There is currently only one vet there and multiple vets from separate locations to fill-in temporarily. It is not well operated or managed. The new owners have clearly cut back on staff, vet, and services to save a penny - and it shows in the lack of detail to service. Communication is poor. Service is not at a high quality. I brought my cat in for a bath and arthritis shot. I was promised it would like 4 hours. I took the entire day. My cat sat in a cage for over 6 hours before she received a bath or even looked after or cared for....- and then when it came to getting her arthritis shot, I was informed that they were short one shot because it was given to 2 other cats the same day I brought her in. I was then asked if I could make yet another appointment to get the 2 required arthritis shots. Poor management. Poor preparation and poor disorganization. I was also informed that the office manager was in the office when I called to request why my cat was in her cage for hours (it turned out she wasn't) A bad experience for my cat. I have lost trust and faith in A Cat Hospital. I do not recommend sending your cat/s there. read more

Really horrible staff. I brought our cat here after he had apparently hurt himself on the fence and needed stitches. They told me they couldn't help Me and to just put him down. I've had him forever and he is my baby. They said if I didn't want to that they could do a bunch of tests (blood, X-rays and urine) but it was obvious he needed stitches or even surgery. The nurses they had no compassion and acted like they didn't care and it seemed to me all they wanted was our money and didn't want to take care of my baby. I used to like going to this vet, but I think it is time to find another vet. 1. I called to get my kitty in for an appointment and they couldn't get me in for five days. 2. We were told that some vets had retired and that we would be seeing a new vet. The appointment went well and she seemed compassionate about my kitties care considering she is a senior cat. She prescribed an antibiotic and told me that I can pick it up anywhere in town. 3. Fast forward to a day and a half later..... I have been to/called every pharmacy and compound pharmacy in town and nobody carries this particular antibiotic. I called and told them and they kept telling me try here try there. After more phone calls, and still unable to find this antibiotic, I called the vet again, and they confirmed that chewy.com had it. I was getting pretty irritated, considering they prescribed something and they don't even know where it is or how to get a hold of it and at the end of a day and a half they finally tell me where I can find it. 4. So I place the order on chewy.com on Thursday night. The website says they have to OK it through the establishment before they can ship it out which is understandable. 5. I called this establishment early Friday morning to confirm that there has been a message sent to them to please OK this prescription so that we can get it filled and get it in the mail and on the way to us. They did confirm that her chart was pulled and that they would OK it. 6. It is the weekend I am following up on the website and it says prescription being prepared to ship. After no changes I called chewy.com and they confirmed that they have been calling this establishment trying to get the OK and nobody has responded. 7. I am very disturbed that it has been five days now and I don't have a prescription to give my kitty so that we can try and get her better. I understand I am not the only patient, I understand you guys have vets that have retired, and that you have people filling in, I understand that you are very busy. I used to work in a doctors office, and no matter how busy we were we always made sure prescriptions were filled at the end of the day. I had to pay a visit to a cat hospital today due to my cat having severe Kalisi issues. Under a lot of stress because she is in pain and her personality is changing. Nonetheless, the vet there named Brittney Villagran was extremely insensitive and rude. I questioned a quote that I received for Wednesday's exam, and instead of having some sympathy to the fact that I'm a single mother, raising three teenagers and paying a mortgage all by myself, she was incredibly rude and said, if there was an issue again, she would just send me to a different hospital. I really miss the old vet there that was named Mary. She was so kind and made me feel a little bit better about having to be there with my baby. Incredibly disappointed today. I have gone to a cat hospital for a couple of years now. Even though it is five minutes from my house, I am considering finding a new location. read more

I brought Athena in because she couldn't walk. I suggested maybe she had been hit by a car. I couldn't get an appointment at my regular vet until the first of the year. I was happy when I called the Cat Hospital and they said I could bring her in that day. They sedated her and took X-rays and said she probably had a dislocated hip and a laceration that they said they stitched. The vet told me she wasn't sure she had dislocated her hip but that may have been the problem. Also told me that she could probably need surgery because if the hip dislocated it can happen over and over again. The bill with amoxicillin and a pain reliever was over $750. Five days later she wasn't getting better. She still wasn't walking. Would barely drink. I took her to my other vet (I had to wait three hours on a walk in basis) They did another set of X-rays - found she had a broken pelvis. Found no stitches in her leg even though I paid to have them done, found no laceration. The vet said she never had a dislocated hip. Gave her a different medication and she was walking and eating the next day. This vet did the exact same tests and X-rays and the cost with medication was $250. I do not recommend this vet at all. The prices are outrageous and the care is questionable. read more

We have been taking our cat there for months. He is on a lifelong medication for seizures, and needs his medication twice per day. On two separate occasions A Cat Hospital has failed to fill his prescription or notify us, and we have twice had to pay to go to the emergency vet. Why the vets hear can't do something as simple as send in a prescription for a lifesaving medication is beyond me. On another occasion we brought in our dying cat to be euthanized, and the vets were standing right outside the room laughing the whole time. My family and I have owned cats for my entire life, and we've always brought them here. I will say that I've rarely had a bad experience on a personal level. The vets are pretty knowledgeable and have always been empathetic when we've had to put our cats down when they reached the end of their lives. I adopted two cats recently for the first time as an adult living on my own. Naturally, I thought I would bring them here to receive their veterinary care like my family has done for the past 20+ years. I went on their website to see if I could book an appointment on there. This is when I noticed that they offer the service of declawing. They have an entire page dedicated to it on their website, boasting some of the most troubling rhetoric I've ever heard about the practice. My family and I had no idea that they perform declawing. We never would have given them our business for so long had we known. I feel horrified and quite saddened, especially due to my ignorance for not looking into it further. I saw the goodness in their vets for what it was at face value, and I never could have imagined that they would participate in what I view to be such an inhumane practice. What's even more confusing to me is that pretty much every time my family and I have adopted a cat, we had to sign paperwork saying that we would never declaw them. I don't understand how shelters and animal rescues can be on completely other ends of the spectrum compared to veterinarians. I'm not trying to pass judgement here or claim that I am the ultimate source of knowledge on the matter, but what I hope to do with this review is spread the word to other cat owners like me who wish to not give their money to veterinarians who declaw. From the minute I stepped in, every one was very friendly. Dr. Stewart took her time with me to make sure I understood the findings on my kittens exam and made sure I was aware of the possible different outcomes and treatments / choices available to me. She allowed me to explain things to her, ask questions and write stuff down. I was not rushed one bit. Which is very important. They were not pushy with prices, or trying to get me to do something I didn't want. ( Which i really appreciate because I do not do well with pushy. I end up just saying "ok" or caving in always even if it is unnecessary lol. ) I felt VERY comfortable. The vet tech came in and broke down all the cost of everything for my baby Haze's visit, and I was done. I had completely spaced on asking them about cost of a nail trimming and i told her if i needed to reschedule for another day for that, i would, seeing as i forgot about it. The tech let me know that she would be back with the prices, came back in and told me and also let me know that they could absolutely do it today and it would only be a few minutes extra. Once again, very sweet. Once we were all finished my final bill was about 75$ more then anticipated but i paid it as i figured it included maybe taxes, any other extra expenses from todays visit (the nail trimming), ETC. Once i got my receipt and reviewed it with the front desk, she realized it was a mistake and refunded me right away. Never any issues, attitude, problems, all just kindness. It's very important to find people you trust with your babies! I was so worried trying to find him a vet and reading all of everyone's bad reviews on many different vets from Vegas to Henderson. Absolutely exceptional care! I am so grateful that Dr. Daffara was able to go above and beyond for my mom and the two of the cats she has been caring for recently. My mom inherited two FIV positive cats after their owner passed away. Within the past few weeks, they both became ill with an unknown sickness that attacked their throat and airways. Dr. Daffara did everything she could to try and understand what was happening, and was able to improve their conditions. Her honest and pure love for trying to help these cats was incredible, and it was obvious that she truly cares about every animal that she encounters. Thank you so much for doing what you did for Lucy and Tiger, your compassion and empathy speaks volumes! We need more people like you in this world. I've waited a long time to write this because it's still difficult to talk/write about but this place deserves recognition. My 9 year old tabby was diagnosed with nasal cancer and due to covid/job loss I had to make the difficult choice to put her to sleep. I was heartbroken and will probably forever carry that guilt around but the cat hospital made it as easy(as it can be). They sent a condolence card and gave me some of her fur and the memorial stuff we got was very cute. I am not sure they do that there or outsource but still. I wish I could give them negative stars. This is the worst vet clinic we have ever had experience with. Not only the rudeness over the phone when explaining we needed a pure bred cat neutered but in person we were treated poorly as well. They do not care about cats like they say they do, or at least they don't like anyone who purchases a cat. They do not like pure-bred cats at all. If you purchase from a breeder, know a breeder, are a breeder, have anything to do with a breeder of pure bred genetically healthy cats- it doesn't matter- you are being shamed and talked down to condescendingly by the staff. They do not make you feel welcome. I prefer Park Animal Hospital. They at least do not judge you and feel like they CARE about my fur babies! read more

I have honestly never had a poor experience in my time going to A Cat Hospital. My heart goes out to those who have written reviews about their misfortunes. Last year I had to make a difficult decision of relocating one of my cats because of a variety of issues that I laid out with the staff. They offered more information, suggestions, and recommendations than I ever expected, and they really wanted to work with me to try and find a way to make things work out. During this time I got him checked up, checked out, and up to date on all of his necessary shots and the like with zero issues at all from the staff. Please understand that medical expenses are rough to deal with, and dealing with small animals is a much more delicate process than trying to deal with a larger animal or a human. There's a lot that goes into caring for your pets, and I truly believe that A Cat Hospital has your best interests in mind. And they are willing to hear you out and discuss with you in case you disagree with their assessments, or you just need more information. My cat, Rupert, began to sneeze excessively to the point that I was genuinely concerned. Although he didn't have any other symptoms I figured a vet should check him out just to rule out anything serious. I've never been able to find a vet that I liked so Rupert didn't have an established doctor. When I found A Cat Hospital I figured it was worth a shot since the staff specializes in cats. I was sooo happy I came here. Dr. Zamzow was so kind, compassionate and attentive to my concerns. She determined that Rupert did not have any serious health concerns and listed all the possibilities that could be contributing to his sneezing. Instead of being like "nothing is wrong, bye" she prescribed an immune booster to see if that could help with the sneezing (spoiler: the immune booster was exactly what Rupert needed! His sneezing is almost gone and it's only been a few days). I was also pleased with her decision not to prescribe antibiotics as Rupert did not have any indications of an infection. Instead, she tailored the treatment to fit his exact needs. Dr. Zamzow also informed me that Rupert might need some dental work done (I think she recommended a cleaning for tartar but she did specify it wasn't urgent) to avoid future issues. The receptionist, Doreen, was also very kind. Kudos to Doreen for awesome customer service. Doreen gave me a quote for the dental work, but did let me know that in a few months they are having a "dental discount month" and if the dental work is not urgent I could wait for the discount. I thought this was amazing of her to mention. Instead of trying to get me to book an appointment right then and there she offered a cheaper alternative for later on. I will definitely continue to visit A Cat Hospital for all of Rupert's future needs. read more

A Cat Hospital is the only clinic I have used for the past 5+ years due to their compassionate care to the fur babies and the humans that bring them in. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! My cats go there for nail trims, vaccinations, I've used the kennel service when I was out of town with zero issues and when I had to put one of my cats to sleep they gave me all the time/space I needed to get through the moment. The wait time is minimal and the front desk staff have awesome customer services skills, especially if you call in an emergency. It's also easier because it's just cats so there aren't any dogs in the waiting room making your cat extra anxious. read more

This place is no good!! don't trust these vets or their staff, my sons cat was worst when he won't back to pick him. Don't know why but something happened behind close doors and they were very rude when my son ask what happened , the kitty came home throwing up blood and pooping blood wasn't like that when he took him there. People just beware unfortunately my son had to take him to another place and have him put down we're still in shock. read more

Brought my cat for a consult for spay and I got a weird bad vibe from one of the nurses right away. I heard a cat crying so loudly in the back and she didn't seam to care, and that's with customers present. I wouldn't trust someone with suck a lack of compassion around our fur babies. (Another hospital we went to did not easily diagnose and my cat has been suffering with pain for years) Things run so smoothly at this hospital. When you schedule, you'll get one of 3 doctors. (I like this because it allows for more scheduling options) They are on time for appts and do not keep you waiting long. The doctor will sit down with you privately in the exam room and are each very thorough and personable. I recommend this hospital to anyone with a cat. We will FURever be grateful.
