In our travels to Sicily earlier this fall this place stood out as the best we've been in during our entire week-long stay in Taormina, and we've been in a number of places ranging from a hall-in-a-wall ice cream shops to two-Michelin Star "Principe Cerami".
We called in advance to let the restauranteur know we were coming late and to our surprise they kept the entire place open just for me and my wife.
The chef was remarkable, very polite and kind man with good taste for vintage Italian art and good food. He kept bringing the "small plate" dishes one after another, and then pasta and main course so at the end of or dinner we could no longer stand up from our table. We had meat, fish, local appetizers, names of which I cannot pronounce and of course, a desert.
House white was outstanding much better than what I'd get in a four star restaurants in NYC, so I'm not sure what the other reviewer is complaining about, perhaps he needs to do something about his spoiled taste buds.
We didn't ask for any dish prices and the owner just kept ringing and bringing food until we started fainting from overeating and at the end of our dinner we were pleasantly surprised with a €70 grand total check, which in other, more fancier restaurants would be just enough to cover the price main course.
I definitely recommend this place, it's a hidden gem in Sicily. read more
