Not only was the location great, but we felt so welcomed and accommodated by the inn owners, two beautiful girls. We booked this bed and breakfast thru tripadvisor, but had such a great stay that I wanted to share this treasure with my fellow yelpers. The building itself is over 800 years old, but the great thing I liked was that the bathroom were fully renovated. Next trip to Rome, I fully recommend a stay in this bed and breakfast...they do serve good breakfast.

This review is here just to give you my pros and cons about this hotel and to help you with making…read morea choice. We made a bad one based on reviews here, so here is my opinion about this hotel: Staying here for the second night today. Our room is on the first floor. Pretty big, for three people, but there are two of us(we chose to pay more and have bigger room) while choosing on Expedia. Smell in the room is killing me. No, killing doesn't cover it. I never had asthma and all of a sudden I started coughing and my air pathways were narrowing. No other rooms were available but one on the first floor with the same smell. So my choices were to find another place to live or to deal with it. I opened the window and slept with it wide opened. Cold, but at least I could breathe. It is either a bad mold or they kill cockroaches, or something of similar sorts. I had a choice of moving, but after 11-12 am, and we had 9am tickets to Vatican that were impossible to cancel. Also, who says that the other room will be better? Staying in the same room second night in a row. The window is wide open, so keep your fingers crossed for me. Just had an adventure in the shower :) Here is a story for you if you are interested. It takes 4-5 min to heat the water in the shower. The shower pan is high and the water stays in it and it doesn't drain properly. The adventure was to have a hot shower while standing in 3 inches of icy cold water. If I turned down the shower, it became cold again, so no choice of waiting for half an hour for the water to drain. If I kept the shower running, it starts to overflow after 15 min, so no, not possible either. You an stand on you tippy toes and have a shower while you are warming one leg at a time. Feel like a flamingo now :)

Gianluca met us and gave detailed instructions on places to go and recommendations for restaurants, he even arranged our transportation to and from the airport. Booking this B&B is like having a private concierge along with it. We just can't thank Gianluca enough for all he has done for us. It is clear from our experience that he has been doing this for 24 years. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace overlooking Rome is always phenomenal! The location of this B&B is perfect, only a few blocks from the Vatican and a short walk across the Tiber river to the other major archaeological sites. Even better, there is a 24 hour bakery in the ground floor right underneath this place!! We just can't recommend this guest house enough!

The bathroom was tidy, there were plenty of linens, and all appliances worked well. We were provided a great foldable map along with several suggestions and highlighted walks. This was a nice touch to our intro. Every morning we had a lovely breakfast on the terrace, complete with juice coffee/tea, bread with spreads, croissants, boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, a meat plate, and a cheese plate; you won't leave hungry! There is also an elevator so you don't have to lug your luggage (or yourself) up the stairs.

Palatine Hill. The Jewish Quarter. The Colosseum. Booked three rooms. Each was quite unique. The largest of the rooms had a separate living room with a pull out couch. The other two rooms had a nice oversized tub and a small seating area for breakfast. Great front desk staff. Karen and Dima were so gracious. Karen brought us a tray of pastries and cappuccinos after a long overseas flight. Dima helped with luggage, ordering taxis and early breakfast before a visit to the Vatican. The lobby has glass jars filled with biscottis, multicolored marshmallows and hard candies. So fun! This was the best in room breakfast that we had in Rome. What a great assortment of fresh vegetables and fruits, hard boiled eggs, sliced cheese, breakfast rolls, pastries and yogurt. Fresh juice, hot tea, and cappuccino were perfect to start off a day of exploring Rome. Our booking also included a taxi from Leonardo da Vinci Airport to the hotel which was great. The taxi service tracked our flight and we were able to get another taxi when we were delayed. Although there is an elevator, not all rooms are accessible. As this is an older building, there are lots of stairs that spiral around the staircase and also stairs to the rooms. Great guesthouse/hotel stay. Highly recommended and hope to return one day.

They had positive attitudes and were very patient with us when we had questions about the menu. They even gave us a complimentary glass of sangria because of confusion about where they had seated us. The interior was stunning as well. It was very elegant and clean. Now let's talk about the delicious food. I had the Arrosto di vitella abrasata con creme di pátate which in English is Braised veal roast with mashed potatoes. The veal was absolutely delicious. The veal was so tender it melted in your mouth. The mashed potatoes underneath the veal are a perfect combination. The mashed potatoes were so creamy and well seasoned. The price is 22 euros. I also tried the Tonnarelli Amatriciana, which is Tonnarelli, tomato, Bacon, Pecorino Romano, and Black Pepper. The pasta was handmade in house. It was well seasoned. That will cost you 16 euros. The wine was delicious, we had a bottle of Chianti 'La Boncia', a good wine from Tuscany.

Once seated, we didn't have much of a view due to the patio cover unfortunately. Anyways, we ordered a drink just to rest up a bit. I had a glass of House White Wine (€8) while the husband had a Jack & Coke (€13). Note if you're an American coming to Italy, the Coke is separate, so it gets quite pricey. They did offer some chips with her drinks, which was nice though. Otherwise, nothing all too special here besides the view of you do get a table.
