I was moving to Denver and answered an ad for a nice rental at a very low price. This company Bolder Staging was offering to put me in a very nice property at a very low price in exchange for putting my furniture in a home for sale. The ad was a bit of a bait and switch, which should have given me a clue as to the integrity of the owners Kathy and Kim.
I arrived with my furniture and was told my furniture wasn't that great and I would need to purchase new furniture, art, etc. for the home. I didn't have another option and would have been homeless so what could I do? I moved into the property. What a mistake. I should have rented a hotel room and found another option. Within days they began to harass me about buying furniture. The seller was unhappy with their service and started stopping by unannounced to complain about them. I was told within 3 weeks I would need to move as the seller was going to remodel her property. These women then tried to put me in other very unacceptable homes saying they would give me a credit of 1/2 months' rent. These were absolute dumps in very questionable areas. When I moved out they kept 20% of my deposit saying I hadn't mowed the lawn. I had just spent $3000 to move to Denver and now had another $1000 cost to move again. When I called they either wouldn't answer the phone or hung up on me. The few times I did get them on the phone they were rude and insulting. I have NEVER experienced anything like this from any business. I ended up taking them to small claims court and winning a judgment which returned my deposit. This was time intensive and expensive, in addition to being emotionally exhausting. These people are just simply scam artists and have no business trying to run a business. I am sure there are very good companies out there that provide this service with integrity, but this isn't one of them.
I also found out in my research they have had 5 claims filed against the with the Better Business Bureau. I guess I should have done more research before I ever entered into a contract and gave these people any money. read more
