Anytime you move to a new city there are plenty of stressors that come along with it. Finding a new house, getting Internet, and certainly down the list but not least of all is finding a good barber. The past couple of moves have been ones during which finding someone to cut this mop has been rather difficult. Luckily, the first try was a charm on this move! A friend of mine recommended a Barbara's craft is the spot to get my haircut and after one try, this will definitely be the spot that I'm going. Ramiro and Matt are doing some really great things here having retro fitted a portion of an older building into what is now a very cool barbershop what a great vibe. upon walking in I was impressed with the old stadium seats, The minimalist but very cool Decor and most of all with the friendliness and the level of customer service is guys provided. I hadn't been there more than a minute and twice had been offered something to drink, asked how my week was and was in the chair ready to get my hair did. The guys cut is $21 with "Lad" and "Sir" (kids and 65+) cuts for $13. Did a great job with the cut and the styling, and provided some very nice conversation. I've had my hair cut by countless people - and let me say, I'm typically not very picky. After having Ramiro cut my hair, however, that changed. I won't go to anyone else as long as he's nearby. He truly epitomizes the name of his business and I leave every appointment feeling better than the last. Clean cut, he even uses a straight edge razor to get those pesky neck hairs; most importantly though, he always takes a few minutes to ask how things are going and remembers what is going on in my life each time. This is the first time I went to A Barber's Craft. I made an appointment which is really important and accommodating, (I went during my lunch time). I got to my appointment a bit early but was greeted with everyone saying hello. As soon as I walked in, I knew they were professional and the real deal. I got my hair cut by Matt. The atmosphere's excellent. The customer service is fantastic and overall a great place. I would highly recommend this place to anyone for a great hair cut. After 20 or more years of just giving myself buzz cuts I decided to have someone cut my hair and shape my beard professionally. After reading a ton of reviews I decided to go with A Barber's Craft. I tend to not be a fan of most of the newer looks. I don't want a checkerboard or stars shaved into my dome. I gave these guys a call at 9am and thanks to a cancelation Jovanny was able to get me handled by 10. I had a very basic idea of what I didn't want but was pretty open to what the end look would be. After asking some questions he got to work. Very friendly and chatted with me throughout the cut stopping often to get my feedback on the progress. The interior of the shop is nice. Definitely has an old school barber shop vibe which is what I was looking for. The cut and beard trim probably took a little over 30 minutes all together. Once he finished up and I took a look I decided right then that I would be coming back for all of my future cuts. Amazingly clean lines and smooth fades. Just with my extremely limited guidance he was able to hone in on what I was looking for, even before I knew what that was. Hands down my favorite hair cut to date. This is what a barber shop should be. Quality people doing quality work for a fair price. From what I saw they are right around the same price as most other barbers in town but definitely worth the cost. Even left a tip because of how impressed I was with the whole experience. If you haven't given these guys a try I strongly suggest you do. Jovanny has a gift that can't be learned. A natural ability to look at head shape and facial structure and figure out what will work best for you. I went and grabbed some groceries right after and had 3 random people compliment the cut. That has never happened to me before but it just gives you an idea of what to expect. Walk in scruffy and rough and walk out clean and buff! Already planning to schedule my next appointment so I can maintain my new look. After not caring about my hair for so long these guys gave me a reason to again. Don't just take my word on it. This is great example of a barbershop that reflects the skills of the barber. I'm glad I found a barber close to home. The place has an antique feel to it with some modernized furnishings. There's definitely history to the place since it's connected to the old train station. Other than that, Ramiro is very friendly, listens to what you want. I have had the best experiences at this barbers shop! You know when you go to a barber and you're kinda nervous to allow him to shape the way you look for the next 2-4weeks?... Well I personally have never felt nervous with Ramiro. He is an absolute professional. He's got and old soul feel about him, with his 50's style music in the background, he's always sharply dressed and well spoken. I can tell this guy not only wants you to leave looking nice, but feeling nice too. Ramiro never seems too hurried to sharpen the finer details of your hair. The shop just gives good vibes, and I have never seen anyone leave unsatisfied. For a newer shop that's bananas. The shop offers products you can purchase to give yourself the same style and smell you had after you get your fresh cut. With a new barber added to the team(a robin to batman type) there's no lid to how impactful and productive this business could be! Every Time I go in I always leave with a great story either from myself or someone else who was there and shared a bit of their life with the shop! Just moved to Yakima, and needed a full service barber and beard trim shop. A friend recommended I see Ramiro. I don't know all the terminology, but I know the style I like and I have watched really good barbers work on my hair over the years. My hair is difficult, it grows in too many different directions. I've had some bad cuts, leaving me with a "ledge" on the side of my head, where my hair parts. I knew Ramiro was a pro when he got to that rough spot and used a comb to angle my hair out instead of relying on clipper guards. I keep the top long, nothing fancy with a quick scissor trim, but Ramiro did keep it even, which is nice. I also had my beard trimmed up and evened out. I had it lined up and brought down lower on my face, all done perfectly with a straight razor, which I appreciated. I've had bad luck with beard trims, I like to keep the length, but bring it in on the sides. Barbers in the past got the sides trimmed well, but left me with a large block protruding from my chin. Ramiro blended the trim perfectly, and again, kept it even. The after shave and beard oil was a nice touch at the end of the cut and trim. I don't normally go out of my way to write a freaking novel of a review, but I've had some bad cuts, and really appreciate the quality I received here. read more

I wanted to love this place SO badly, but I never got the chance. Made an appointment two days prior, was immensely excited to finally get my hair done after months of letting it get shaggy, showed up, and was turned away because they didn't do "women's haircuts." For starters, I have short hair and I wanted most of it buzzed off. I explicitly told him I wanted a men's haircut. Secondly, I'm trans male. I was even wearing my binder. To say I was upset is a bit of an understatement since all I wanted was a haircut and Yelp had gotten my hopes up so high. He said he could reschedule me with the other stylist, but at that point I just wanted to leave. It was humiliating. At the very least, I was recommended somewhere else to spend my money. Would not recommend this place to any other trans men looking for somewhere to go for a haircut. read more
