Both were shown as part of the lunch combos. I sampled my partner's fries and they were delicious. I don't eat fries often, but this is how they should taste. She enjoyed her schnitzel burger though it did seem rather large for lunch. My sauerkraut and sausages were well presented but you definitely have to like sauerkraut because there was lots of it. Both meals were $13.95 which is very reasonable for the quality and quantity. The decor is something quite different from what we expected. It's the kind of style that takes many years of collecting to achieve. It was a little like a scene out of Harry Potter but it also had that central European feel to it. There was a fairly large patio out front where you could sit and watch the townsfolk go by. I think you could come here for a romantic dinner or a casual lunch equally well. They also serve breakfast but we didn't look at the breakfast menu. This is a destination restaurant that likely has many regulars. I'm surprised to see it in such a small community as Valleyview. If you have a hearty appetite I definitely recommend this family run establishment.

Valley View Dairy Queen -- Ongoing Website Failures, Corporate Inaction, and Repeated Wrong Orders…read moreMake This Location Unacceptable Today was my last visit to Valley View Dairy Queen, and honestly the experience has been building frustration for a long time. The DQ app/website has been having credit card transaction issues for over two weeks, and it's still not fixed. Even worse, it seems like corporate DQ can do absolutely nothing about it. Because of that ongoing problem, I went inside to place my order instead. The manager did agree to honor my deal discount at the counter, but that's where any sense of good service ended. The employee taking my order still got it wrong. I did not order a #5, and I specifically did not order mushrooms because I cannot eat them. Despite that, my order was entered incorrectly and made wrong anyway. When the manager came out, instead of fixing the mistake properly, I was told I would have to pay for an entirely new burger. This was not my error. I was then only offered 10% off the replacement, which still meant I had to pay for food I never ordered in the first place. That is completely unacceptable. The most frustrating part is that this isn't even an isolated incident. If you look at Google reviews, there are repeated complaints about incorrect orders going back a long time. This location has a clear ongoing problem with getting orders right, and nothing seems to improve. After this experience, and everything leading up to it, I will not be returning to Valley View Dairy Queen. I would strongly recommend others think twice before going there if they expect accurate orders, reliable service, or any real accountability.
